You're the only person I've seen who actually noted how similar to the Italy match that tactic was. Glad I'm not the only one.

My personal gripe now is the new plastic bottle lid. What muppet felt after over a century of a perfectly fine lid, it now had to be attached to the bottle?

OMG, I detest that bottle thing, it ruins my drinking experience. I often violently slash the top off and don't get me started on paper straws that ruin things even more. Makes sense, stop a few plastic straws when we just accept and ignore the mlilions of tons of plastic crap just Amazon alone throw away into waste.

I for one am totally okay with the bottle lids. For them, if anything, as it saves me losing them! I don't think they get in the way.

However, my biggest bugbear in the environmental vein is restaurants that offer wooden cutlery. Single-use plastic < single-use wood < multi-multi-multi use metal! But they obviously see it as environmentally friendly as it's not plastic.
