The Retro-PES Corner

@geeeeee , Wikipedia or Transfermarkt most of the time.

Thanks, I know it may have been a silly question but sometimes it bugs me a bit 😅

I think your advice about Wikipedia is good because they have “commonly known as” or “simply known as” so that could be the “rule” for me.

Just watching Sky and they showed a fixture list which had 7 teams, one was Bournemouth and one was Spurs. Why not Tottenham? I know FIFA does the same thing. 🤔

Hi all patch and option file makers,

When naming the teams in your files, how do you decide how to name them?

For example:

Newcastle
Newcastle United
Newcastle Utd

Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur

Lille OSC
Lille

Paris Saint-Germain
PSG

Bayern Munchen
Bayern Munich

What is your rule?
Is there a website you copy? Maybe transfermarket?

Thanks guys
'FC', 'CF', and 'AC' can be omitted, but 'United' and 'City' cant. For obscure small clubs named after a city, the 'FC', 'CF', and 'AC' cant be omitted.

Hi everyone!

I am building a classic Real Madrid squad (early 80s era / 1981 European Cup side with Santillana, Camacho, Juanito, etc.) and I would love to include a very unique historic detail: Julio Iglesias as a Real Madrid goalkeeper.

Before his music career, he played as a goalkeeper in the Real Madrid youth academy until his accident in 1962.

Since there are no 3D faces available for him in the community, I'm opening this request to see if any skilled facemaker would be interested in taking on this project (either for fun or via private commission).

Looking into this AI-assisted coding, and which improvements can be made to old PES games, I'm testing a new version of a widescreen patch for PS2 versions that doesn't stretch HUD elements:

It has a lot of bugs so I dont want to release anything yet. But I think its possible to do this properly, with enough time and testing

I guess the top and bottom text that appears on the replay screen will have the same result

I tried the WE9LE ps2 version for the first time this week. Before, i always played the pc version.

I know some people say it's placebo, but i really think that the ps2 game version is more difficult (pcsx2 or on original hardware, doesn't matter). The CPU attacking prowess is much better than on PC. It's really weird that the PC versions seem always easier.
Even though I play on a PS2 using an HDD-Network Adapter, I experience stuttering during corner kicks and free kicks. Have you noticed this too?

Hello, my friend.
I had the same problem with PES 3. I spent years trying all sorts of things to fix it. The only solution that worked for me was installing dgVoodoo.
I'll leave a video here that explains the step-by-step process. HERE.
Thank you. I forgot to mention I play on the original PS2. Afraid this only works on PC as far as I can see.... any recommendation for PS2? I read disabling commentary can help but it doesn't do much unfortunatly.

After thoroughly enjoying ISS Pro Evolution for PS1, I decided to upgrade to ISS Pro 2, interestingly enough it hasn't grabbed me the same way yet, but I have moved the difficulty to hard to try to see if it doesn't click.
I do plan on trying the 98 version just for the heck of it, I never played it before.
