The Retro FIFA Discussion Thread (All FIFA games by EA are welcome!)

Noticed there’s some discussion here of modding FIFA on Xbox 360 and I thought I’d share a mod that permanently unlocks the EA catalogue for offline use for 2014 FIFA World Cup.

This game had an in-game catalogue of game items that you could unlock with gameplay (eg. retro shirts, soccer balls etc). However, the unlock process relied on a connection to the EA servers to be able to unlock them, and also to use them afterwards, as even if you had unlocked them before, when your console was offline, you couldn't access the previously unlocked items.

With the EA servers now permanently shut off for this game, there is no way to get these working anymore on a retail Xbox 360 console, however, with a modded locale.big file, you can get these unlocked for offline use on a Xbox 360 that has been modded via RGH/JTAG, or for Xenia emulator on a PC.

These require the use of an extracted ISO version of the game, not the converted GOD version (as with GOD, you don’t have access to change game files).

Simply replace data/loc/locale.big with the modded locale.big provided. This mod should also be Media ID agnostic (i.e. the mod works across all media IDs - let me know if any issues crop up with a particular version of 2014 FIFA World Cup).

On a different note, has anyone managed to unlock the Adidas Pre-Order Team on FIFA Street (2012) via modding, or know where it might be contained in the game files (my attempts to delve through the game files has resulted in no sign thus far)?

Alternatively, has anyone here actually unlocked the team back in the day with a pre-order code? If yes, I would be very grateful if you can check your console and advise if there is any associated DLC downloaded to your console that allows you to play with this team.

Note there is no longer any way to unlock this team in-game as it could only be unlocked once a pre-order code was entered in-game with a connection to EA servers (servers are now long gone).

Hey guys! I'm looking for a good, reliable patch (No Career Mode crashes, if at all possible) from FIFA 14, 15, 17, or 18 which has the Peruvian League. If any of you know of a patch with this league in any of these editions, please let me know. Thanks. :)

Hey bros!

I think I made a really nice discovery just tonight: After playing assisted passing for a long while, I wanted to experiment with semi passing, following @Madmac79's suggestion from a long time ago! However, I wanted to have an intermediate between "semi" and "assisted", so what I ended up doing was decrease "pass error" to 45 while playing semi (did the test on FIFA 17 exhibition and it worked really well!), and I get the feeling that I have found the intermediate I'm looking for! If you guys want to tinker with "semi" passing, in order to make it more assisted or more manual, changing pass error seems to do the trick! :TU:

I hope this belongs here and is enough retro. I bought FIFA 14 on PC and was having a great time with it (I found it harder than other fifes), but enjoyed it so much I got it for the xbox, however the xbox version reminds me much more of FIFA 16. is the PC version different from the PC. Besides graphic is it different engine, (Ignite?) Im enjoying both versions a lot though.

Guys, wanted to share this great find! I just downloaded this brilliant patch, CEP (Career Expansion Patch) for FIFA 11! It is one of the most complete Patches I've ever seen! All 52 UEFA Leagues, 10 CONMEBOL (All of Europe and South America!), and a good number of AFC, OFC, CAF, and CONCACAF leagues! Amazing! :BSCARF:

Of course, all credits go to the original creators, which I list below. :TU:

Patch Thread: https://soccergaming.com/index.php?threads/cep-11.166040/

Here's the Download Link (taken from the thread, link uploaded by user "kimsud")

Personally, as someone who loves playing in lesser known leagues, this is exactly what I'm looking for!

EDIT: I have found very few players in obscure leagues who have "missing faces" (blue and green), Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a working link for the Fix, but it's a small bug in an otherwise great patch.

- All 52 UEFA Leagues
- All 10 CONMEBOL leagues
- Best of AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa) and OFC (Oceania) leagues
- Continental Competitions (CAF Champions League, UEFA Champions Leagues, Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, Royal League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Supercup, AFC Champions League, O-League, etc) fully playable on Manager Mode
- EA Winter Roster Update and GSP Fix included in db
- Real Name for all stadiums
- Home and Away kits for all teams
- Minikits in EA Style
- CM Generated minifaces
- more than 150 tournaments, including leagues, cups, supercups, etc
- Scoreboards made by Zic and ANBSeth
- Grass Patch made by Regularcat
- AI w/ a db optimized for it (optional) made by Regularcat (http://www.gamefront.com/files/20301685/CEP_11___Regularcat_s_Style_rar or http://www.mediafire.com/?fasqbe8nvekb2jz)

- All 52 UEFA Leagues
- Trophies, leaguelogos and logos made by Juan_007
- kits and minis made by Newmaker, Taraji, Shoneroma90, Regularcat, Calvarez, Deiver, Moaalves, Tazmany, Don_Tm, ariv, Lavezzi, Adricmb, Mvanegmond04, R.Boni, Celtian, Veggt, EmilianoVidela, Gutymann, Sebas, Leo_95, RafaelBG85, Richardo93, UjpestFC, Tomi17, S30SMejo, Juventino, Fifa-Croatia, Liv_Tyler, Mogolos, MyFifail.co, virtual_razvan
- DB made by Darkvajo and Regularcat
- Countryflags made by Don_TM and Juan_007
- Scoreboards made by ANBSeth and Zic

- Download
- Decompress in the data folder
- Open FIFAMANIA's kitregenerator (or other regen tool) and regen
- Play.

- If u look for a player with specific name (not all, just some) on transfer market on manager mode, it crashes due to the db size. Solution: look for them by team, not by name only (in the case it crashes).
- Qualifying for Europe ? QUALIFY In the game 1st.

Guys, I'd like to find a FIFA 15 patch (preferrably original season) which includes Brasileirao. I installed moddingway AIO and it didn't include it..

Does anyone know of a good patch with this league? Thanks in advance.

Gotta listen to it, thanks!

By the way, since I've seen that the FIFA 19 and FIFA 20 discussions have been slowly coming back into action recently, I thought I'd share some links to mods/patches here in the coming days.
They'll be original season mods and they'll be compatible with the latest title update.

This means that, for example, I won't suggest EEP for FIFA 19 or FIFA 20 as, for example, the only version compatible with the latest FIFA 20 update is the "2020/21" one (and, well, being unable to use EEP with either FIFA 19 or FIFA 20 saddens me a little because EEP is ace).

As promised, this post has been now updated with links (those which are still working as of today!) to "original season" patches for the most recent FIFA games (let's say many Frostbite-based ones).

A little disclaimer before we begin (better safe than sorry, they say):

Note that the choice is solely made on personal judgement.
I'm not saying that FIFER's FIFA 22 Realism Mod isn't worth trying, or that EEP 21 is inferior to FIFER's FIFA 21 Realism Mod.
Truth be told, I'm an EEP fan so I'd choose it over other patches if available... But for example I couldn't find any "original season" EEP version compatible with the latest title update for FIFA 19, FIFA 20 and FIFA 21.

This being said, without any further ado...

FIFA 18 - FIFA Infinity Patch 4.0 (thanks to @Tibokan for gathering and sharing the content, I'm just copying his post here)

Download link: https://mega.nz/file/mQ82BA5a#pJaJKUGw4SBwoVvGMHjnD9DIa4wleh8zdfF3S4wr3KA
Features page: https://gamebanana.com/mods/34583 (this is a link to the v4.0 changelog specifically)
Soccergaming thread: http://soccergaming.com/index.php?threads/fifa-infinity-patch-18.6464831/ (note this thread references the later v5.0 and v5.1 versions of the patch, which are no longer original season as they use the FIFA 19 database and are updated for the 18/19 season).

Special installation notes: This requires the use of CG File Explorer 18 https://dl.fifa-infinity.com/fifa-18/fifa-18-cg-file-explorer/ in order to apply to the game (not Frosty Mod Manager). Follow the instructions provided in the FIP patch to install using CG File Explorer 18. Before running the game for the first time, delete bcrypt.dll from your main FIFA 18 folder and replace with the attached CryptBase.dll file I've provided in the 7zip file attached to this post (without this fix, you won't be able to get FIFA 18 to run at all).

I have tested this on the latest version of FIFA 18 on Windows 10.

Features
  • Unlicensed teams and competitions are now fully licensed (e.g Brasileirao!)
  • Extra teams and some extra leagues have been added (depending on the version of the mod you choose).
  • WC international teams (e.g. Croatia) and Russian WC Stadiums missing from Kick Off mode are now unlocked for use in Kick Off mode.
  • Lots of other additions (such as adboards, scoreboards, stadium name fixes).

FIFA 19 - FIFA Infinity Patch 2.2

Download link: https://mega.nz/file/WAdHhaIb#uBR1jst8ix6NwE0CPvYuJaHBmaFhbbf4Ib6SsBE26qk
Features page: https://dl.fifa-infinity.com/fifa-19/fifa-infinity-patch-19/
Soccergaming thread: http://www.soccergaming.com/index.php?threads/fifa-infinity-patch-19.6466455/

The mod has been tested on the latest version of the game with Frosty Mod Manager 1.0.5.9 and features...
  • Licensed names, kits, minikits and logos for all the unlicensed teams (there's only one thing you should be aware of: kit collars and numbers for the newly added teams are not 100% accurate. For example, Ascoli's home collar is set to '0' but should be set to '7' and Cremonese's GK number and fonts are black on a black kit. Nothing that cannot be solved by saving a squad file ingame and then fixing it with RDBM)
  • Licensed names and logos for unlicensed competitions
  • Many teams added (some of them, according to the version of the patch you choose, will only have home and GK kit): missing teams from Champions League and Europa League, Greek teams, Czech teams and more

FIFA 20 - FIFA Infinity Patch 4.3

Download link: https://mega.nz/file/ggpVATDT#zAWVM0uw4qGDlOuVxwcnTossw462mkIMlFKWEVszm6M
Features page: https://dl.fifa-infinity.com/fifa-20/fifa-infinity-patch-20/
Soccergaming thread: http://soccergaming.com/index.php?threads/fifa-infinity-patch-20.6467379/ (not updated to the latest version of the patch though)

The mod has been tested on the latest version of the game with Frosty Mod Manager 1.0.5.9 and features...
  • Licensed names, kits, minikits and logos for all the unlicensed teams (including some 2020/21 kits for the major teams, which are registered as "classic" kits so one may also completely ignore them)
  • Licensed names and logos for unlicensed competitions, including the pre-season tournaments
  • Many teams added
  • Many fixes to adboards and banners

FIFA 21 - FIFER's FIFA 21 Realism Mod 1.4

Download link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/9wu8g406e8mups6/FIFER's+FIFA+21+Realism+Mod+1.4+Hotfix.rar/file
Features page: https://www.fifermods.com/fifa21-realismmod/features

The patch has been tested with the latest version of the game and FIFA Mod Manager 4.11.1.0 and features...
  • Licensed names, kits, minikits and logos for all the unlicensed teams
  • Teams from the 2020/21 Champions League and Europa League added
  • Better AI team selection in career mode
  • Many improvements to the board behavior in career mode
  • Improvements to player contracts, scouting, wages...

FIFA 22 - EEP Main 1.0 New Year's Edition

  • Added missing Champions League, Europa League and Conference League teams
  • Added some national teams (Serbia, Croatia, Uruguay, Egypt, Japan...)
  • Licensed logos and names for european competitions
  • Many licensed GK kits for all teams from FL1, FL2, 3. Liga Germany, SüperLig and more
  • Updated graphics (banners, flags, adboards...)
  • New wonderkids in career mode

FIFA 23 - EEP 1.0.2

Soccergaming thread: http://soccergaming.com/index.php?t...-8-new-leagues-38-new-promoted-teams.6471671/

The patch has been tested with the latest version of the game and FIFA Mod Manager 6.1.0.0 and features...
  • Licensed names, kits, minikits and logos for all the unlicensed teams
  • Many GK kits added for teams that had them unlicensed
  • Added some new leagues, added some Serie C and Vanarama National League teams and added some "rest of the world" teams
  • Updated graphics (adboards, balls, scoreboards...)
  • Many new national teams with kits and anthems

EA really fucked up the color grading and black/white levels in Road To World Cup 2006 in night matches.

A simple adjustment in the black and white level in photoshop makes the image look more tolerable. Even in the intro video the black levels are normal. Something went wrong with the night match settings and they didn't bother fixing it before releasing.

Just seen this, sorry!
Yeah the Xbox 360 version of the game is based on the Ignite Engine like FIFA 15 and 16 while the PC version is old-gen.
If only we could mod the Xbox One version of the game (I’m not asking for Revolution mod here, just for team/competition names and logos plus real-life kits)… It’d be the almost perfect game for me.

it is nice to play this game from time to time

I'll add one in for FIFA 18, after finally managing to figure out and solve a longstanding problem with CG File Explorer 18 and getting this working on the latest versions of Windows 10.

Thank you pal!
I didn't buy FIFA 18 for PC as I have it f or Xbox One, so I hardly cared about mods back them. Thanks for sharing (and caring)!

@*aLe Great job compiling the original season patches bro! I've been looking for some of these, particularly for FIFA 18 and 19, and it's great to be able to have them on hand. The 19 patch isn't big at all, so it won't be hard or lengthy to implement. :TU:

I have a question about FIFA 11: What difficulty do you guys play it in? I'm playing with the awesome CEP patch and I'm in between playing Professional or Top Player. It's one of the harder installments out there, IMO!

Ever since the xbox 360 gen fifa games, I've sticked with Professional difficulty. I already get my ass kicked in pro difficulty. World class and legendary always resulted in me loosing every single match miserably.

i still sometimes go back to Fiffy 10 on Xbox 360, call me crazy all day
i can't put my finger on it either, its something about creating your V-Pro, playing through a 4-season Be-a-Pro Mode which SPOILER - ends in the World Cup, usually with you as Captain of your Country, and also using your VP as a cornerstone for a Dynasty in Manager Mode.
the thing with the scrapbook, where you unlock all the Skill Points time after time, was very exciting to me at the time, still is.
i could name 5-10 things about BAP and MM that are really poorly made or unfinished, but man...
this game, with Controls all set to Semi or Manual, in Pro Camera, its a treat.
it holds up so well too, when you think of how old it is and how little features it really has, but the core Gameplay on the field is just good.
once i get time (and shmonney) to build a decent PC, i'd get some footage to show people what i mean.
WC South Africa 2010 was also really good, the captain-Mode thing, it was kind of a refined & better version of F-10 and i will defo get back on that one.

Fiffy 12 and 13 were also very good for me, i enjoyed how EatMy Shorts did a real improvement on the previous Games, with Scouting and Youth Academy that are still somewhat tied in to the modern day Games, and how there was more Progression in BAP Mode so it felt more "true to life"
you could also play as a Goalie, online as well in Pro Clubs, that was some fun
i could tell the slow degradation (is that a real word ?) of the Games after that, which led me back to Pro Evo and getting to know the beauty of Option Files.
after Fiffy 13 the Games looked and felt more and more janky and non-sensical, especially the "oh so realistic" Physics, Collisions, AI on defending, Player Switching on defending etc, kinda bad when you think of what could've been, if they allowed the Programmers more time and resources to make the Game better every time.
for me, it did the exact opposite every Year after 13 :TTTH:

Just found a very nice gameplay mod for FIFA 11, "Hybrid Gameplay vs 5.0 final version", available here! :TU:

This makes some nice additions, including a version with extended celebrations, more varied and dynamic gameplay, and CPU behavior improvements!

If you mean the "almost complete" experience also with stadiums, I believe it's 20.
Been playing some 19 lately and as far as I remember it doesn't even come close to having the Bundesliga stadiums that 20 has.

If you mean scoreboard, match graphics and competition anthem... I think they're there since 16.

Sure on the competetion anthem etc being on since 16?
youre prob right, im gonna install 17 and have a look

This is how it looks like in FIFA 16 for comparison:

Apparently the league anthem is played in the intro, but not while the players are actually lining up on the pitch.
I thought it would go on even during the player entrance but apparently I was wrong. I didn't remember it being played after the match too!

Ah thanks buddy, great!
Im installing Fifa 17 on pc as we speak and its most likely a Bundesliga adventure for me
Thanks aLe

Does anybody knows if there are fixes for the choppy fps for the old FIFA's? Like from 2003 to 2008? They all seems to have stuttering

I've been really enjoying FIFAs 07-14 on PCSX2 (PS2 versions).

The following generation's versions of these games are also really fun, but here's something classic and really well made about the PS2 FIFAS as well. :)

My only question is: I find that all of these games are really similar between them in terms of gameplay and presentation. What are some of the differences and your personal favorite out of all these PS2 versions? I'd like to start a FIFA Career in one of them. :TU:

Not gonna lie and say I played them all, but I can totally recommend FIFA12 for the PS2. Career Mode is fantastic, if I remember correctly you could use your money to have better facilities/stadium, there is more interaction with players and club related stuff than what we would get in the PS4 FIFA games

Thanks! This is exactly the kind of recommendation I was looking for! Will definitely check out FIFA12 Career Mode! I've also heard great things about FIFA10, but I think I might start with the one you recommended! :TU:
