There is nothing wrong with the parts you are buying.
I would just change the ram to the LP stuff and it will be fine.

I just ordered a new pc for 260 just for the fun of running a Linux server. It should arrive tomorrow
My PSU is a G7 Extreme 880W PSU which you would imagine puts out enough power but obviously doesnt seem to mate.
Im running 4 HDD's, 1 Optical Drive, Overclocked CPU with a cooler that needs 200W to run.... NO SLI but in the future I plan to.all up and running will post pics later
thats beefy enough unless u are running sli or like 10 hdds lol
Yes either is fine, but you would also save yourself some money if you don't use scan as they are rip off merchants.

I think the Power Supply just isnt cutting it so im going to get a better one.
Is there a specific reason you suggest a LP one?
didn't even realise when was ordering, just going to take out my old one. no
Any beeps? I'd disconnect all of your cables and go through them again, make sure that you've got them all right and seated in properly.
It sounds to me that you have not plugged in the extra 4 pin power cable, normally found near the cpu.
nope, thats plugged in and still same problem.
thinking motherboard may be faulty but going to have proper go, tried everything basically and same problem occuring
I did the exact same thing during my build. Although mine would run for a couple of seconds and switch off.
I would first start by removing your graphics card and trying the onboard graphics and see what happens.
Then remove one stick of ram at a time and basically try and work out what's not working one component at a time, it is very rare for components to be faulty and you would be really unlucky if it happened to you.
Have you tried clearing the CMOS?
took it out for ten minutes then put it back in but still same problem
