The Movies Thread

Fury is good. The story and characters don`t get really interesting until the 45th or 46th minute though. Movie had a great finish. 7.5/10

Too bad almost nothing is happened in that 134 minutes for me to care about any of the characters. yes the dinner scene was great and all the aspects how a captain should behave in a war to care about his man but maintain his position as a leader. Just could have been more..

BTW whats wrong with Shia ? He was literally tearing during the whole movie!

Maybe withdrawals. He has a history of drug problems.

John Wick: 5/10: Skip it. Way, way over the top stuff.

A Walk Among Tombstones: 6.5/10 Not bad.

Funnily enough I just watched A Walk among Tombstones last night. Thought it was good, give it a 7.5/10. Not sure about how the ending panned out, a bit meh, but nonethless I do actually like Neeson in these roles.

Inherent Vice - N/A

Terrible pacing, terrible storytelling, just awful.

The Kingsman - 8/10

Enjoyable film.

Night crawler 9/10: awesome performance by Jake. Even better than Carell in Foxcatcher. He carried the entire film and I expect him to receive a lot of votes for best actor. Film shows you how far ppl will go to get something they want. Can be applied to any profession really.

Kill the Messenger: 8/10: a good thought provoking film on the people who are supposed to protect society.

Whiplash: 9/10. Intense from start to finish and one of the best films of the year, if not the best. Bald head has to be best supporting actor and Miles Teller is a future star.

After long negotiations by Marvel Studios, the popular character of the Spider Man - whose license for use on the big screen is from Sony Pictures - will join the film universe Marvel next to Robert Downey Jr. , Chris Evans and the rest of the Avengers.

The contract indicates that Spider-Man could appear in one of the upcoming movies from Marvel, as announced by study in the last hours of the day yesterday. This means that we are probably talking about Captain America: Civil War, whose premiere is scheduled for May 6 2016. Or Sony or Marvel have specified the project, but the Spider Man is a key character in the story developed in this film.

And while there is a mutual aid between the two studies, the agenda of the next releases has been modified: Thor 'S Table (who had a release date) now will be released on November 3, which moves at the same time the film of Black Panther for the July 6 2018, and which domino effect, directly affects the tape of Captain Marvel which now will be released on November 2 2018, leaving to the Inhumans for July 12 2019. This is the agenda for the moment. ;)

That's the right thing to do, too bad they wasted all that money on the reboot to see the error of their ways.

Taken 3.

Was okay, I'll give it a 7.5/10.

The first film was brilliant, the 2nd was okay and this was a bit better than the second.

The Theory of Everything: 7/10. A great story. Found the film a bit boring at times. That said, Eddie Redmayne's transformation into Stephen Hawkings is absolutely remarkable.

Watched The Equalizer.

Thought it was excellent, guess it's my kinda movie, and I like Denzel Washington.

I'll give it a 9/10.

Loved it.

Whiplash : Didn't like it the first 30 minutes or so, but eventually I got into it, love the finale! Overall, I think it was too focused, it would have been nice to see some normal family scenes, some normal dialogue and thoughts of the protagonist, to make him more sympathetic, to understand him... Instead we get only this highly focused on playing drums story and all thoughts and dialogue surround that. 7.5/10

Birdman: Awesome camerawork and beautiful editing, good acting and it seemesd all refreshing, but the story was a bit too thin and the ending could have been better. 7.5/10

Nightcrawler Scary little movie, greatly acted by Gyllenhaal, with some nice insights into a sociopath's psychology through the lens of the media. Scary, because you realize the sociopath is really us. Love it. 8.5/10.

Hobbit 2 Didn't like Hobbit 1 at all, but this sequel is actually way better, who would have thought? Surprised me really, the characters got interesting, there was actually a story and some good charactermoments.7/10

Hobbit 3 What happened here? After Hobbit 2 got me interested in the franchise again, Hobbit 3 plunged right down into pure awfulness, even more awful than the first Hobbit. Nearly no story at all, everything got sacrificed in order to show one big battle, and there wasn't even a resolution of the dwarf's quest for the arkenstone and their dream to reestablish their kingdom... 3/10

Great mini reviews, agree on all of the above.

Actually, you may have been too generous with the Hobbit scores. This series of 3 has been awful. Each one getting worse.
