The Master League adventures thread

2/3 of my Juventus games played
Both of my first games was in the Coppa Italia semi finals.
First game was away , a game vs a very passive Juventus
A very clear victory with Krunic being really good in this one, he's usually a jack of all trades coming off the bench.
e2ffcde3-fafe-4466-a60f-4e93ea6220ad.png

Game two at home became a bit tougher, but still us being the better team, once again Krunic was superb from his AMF position, two goals from him, one in each goal:)
And a very Zlatanesque goal from Zlatan.

We move on to our league game Vs Juventus at home after this

My next game as written above is Vs Juventus in the league.
A much more potent Juventus this time, giving me a lot of problem first half, pressing me, making me having all sorts of issues
They went 1-0 up first half and i felt i needed to make some changes second half and that really worked, 1-1 and 2-1 came quite quickly , and we finished them off with a 3-1 goal as well.
Samu Castillejo being man of the match with two goals
3e066df4-a754-40a3-98c5-1e3fbd00c0d7 (1).png

And with second place Inter losing to Sassuolo away, I've been crowned champion with 5 games to go (16 point gap)

So I'll see this season out and focus on the Coppa Italia final vs Inter later on.
Didn't quite see me winning it first season but I'll take it any day.
Will be a tougher next season with European games and a need to get my squad even more competitive

Hi everyone after tons of work put into this game, I thought I'd share my "just for fun" Master League run. So, in this Master league run I am playing on VirtuaRed 9 with the Greenlandic Football Championship Mod (I created) and with the Women Players with Realistic Ratings Mod (I'll come up with a better name later). In this run, I've been playing with my favorite team B-67 Nuuk, with difficulty at Professional, budget at highest (at normal settings these teams are really, really poor), negotiation difficulty at normal, and match length at 30min.

Greenlandic Football Championship Primer:
The Greenlandic Football Championship first started in 1954. Despite being an amateur league, the GFC is the top league of Greenland with over 50 teams participating. Because of the poor weather and difficult traveling conditions between cities, the GFC takes place over the course of a couple months, usually May/June-August. Typically, teams will player against each other in regional mini seasons/tournaments, with the top 1-2 teams qualifying for the weeklong championship tournament in August.

In this mod, I've turned the Russian League into a Central European League with Swiss, Czech and Austrian teams. While the Swiss League became the Greenlandic League. Additionally, I also replaced the Russian national team with the Greenlandic national team.

Here is the breakdown of the 10 teams I've added. I picked these 10 teams out of the 50+ either because they are some of the best teams in Greenland or they are a few of the teams I could find relatively up to date rosters for.
Screenshot 2025-02-08 221706.png

1st half of the Greenlandic Football Championship:
As stated before, I've also modded my game to have women players. Not only do I have women players, but I've also included women coaches, staff and refs. In my ML run Dua Lipa is my team owner, cuz all good teams nowadays have rich celebrity owners (see Wrexham and Birmingham City). Additionally, Megan Rapinoe is my Team Director (the game randomly picked her).
Screenshot 2025-01-25 195305.png

So, with the season starting for B-67 my main goal was to add depth to our roster. This is especially necessary because of the fact that B-67 already has many of the top players in Greenland on their team. This means that I have to deal with almost all of my starting XI and a chunk of my reserve players being called up to the Greenlandic national team and getting exhausted. With the extra funds given by my new owner (a whole $400K), I was able to sign enough players to add adequate depth to my team.
Screenshot 2025-02-08 170743.png

Now you're probably wondering how I was able to sign all these players with a salary budget of only $400k. Easy, offer them contracts with dirt cheap salaries, but with exorbitant bonuses that might bankrupt the club by the end of the season. My job is to win games. I'll leave the finances to Dua, Megan, and the grey-haired gentlemen in the photo above.

After making these transfers, the season got underway and has so far gone as expected. At the halfway point, B-67 is currently at the top of the league (this probably would've happened anyways without any transfers).
Screenshot 2025-02-08 164855.png

Despite the massive number of goals scored, the goals allowed over the 1st half is not great. My defense over the first half is statistically one of the worst in the league, and that's really saying something. For the 2nd half I plan on using the transfer window to bolster my defense, specifically the side backs. Also, despite the +54 goal differential a good number of my matches so far have been pretty close. Much of the +54 has come from blowout matches against IT-79, Nagtoralik, and Kissaviarsuk.

GrønlandsBANKEN Greenlandic GM Cup:
There's not much to say here. We're currently in the semi-finals and will be facing Nagdlunguaq-48.
Screenshot 2025-02-08 164911.png

Champions League:
Also, not much to say here. My Champions League run has gone as expected for a Greenlandic team - awful. I got placed in the Group of Death and got destroyed.
Screenshot 2025-02-08 164937.png
Goals for the 2nd half:
  1. Strengthen my defense
  2. Win the GFC
  3. Win the Greenlandic Cup
  4. Get an offer to coach the Greenlandic National Team
Things that have surprised me so far:
  1. Messi got transferred to Tottenham. In every ML I've done since Messi's joined Miami, Miami has always refused to get rid of Messi. So, this was a shock.
  2. Despite my abhorrent defensive coaching skills, PSG decided it was a good idea to offer me the manager position. I promptly rejected it.
  3. I somehow lost to Ek'aluk! As seen above they're the worst team in the league, with an OVR rating of 39, yet they beat me 4-3. The last time these two teams met in real life B-67 destroyed Ek'aluk 15-0.
  4. Despite having lower ratings, CPU teams were more willing than I expected to sign women players. With my realistic ratings mod, most of the women players end up in the 50-65 range. The highest profile CPU signing was Aitana Bonmati (72 OVR) to AC Milan.
  5. Lastly, I think the CPU managers are a part of a bounty/targeting conspiracy. For some reason whenever I have Arnaq Egede on the field, the CPU teams decide to start doing the most reckless tackling, only towards her. Because of reckless tackling, she's already been injured twice in only a couple of months. I think UEFA needs to investigate! All jokes aside, has anybody else encountered in any of their ML runs, the CPU specifically targeting one of your players like they're actively trying to injure them?
For a while I've really wanted to do a ML run in the Greenlandic League, and now that I've added it into Pes I been having a lot of fun! At some point in the future, I may do a more realistic ML run where I try to turn Ek'aluk from the worst team in all of Pes into one of the best (all with a starting salary budget of $9460). Hopefully when I attempt that I won't get fired in my first season.

Such a cool take on a ML,best of luck

First season done.
Quite interesting, didn't think I'd win it my first try, especially with a 20 point gap down to 2nd place Juventus.

My Coppa Italia final vs Inter was a very tough one, lots of cards shown in this one, and being down 1-0 for a long period of the game I made it 1-1.
Game went to double extra time then penalty shootout
A tough loss, but getting the scudetto in front of Inter makes up for that.

Next order on the agenda is a LB and a CF in then preparations for a long and tough season competing on three frontse9b33ee9-f5e7-4327-8e02-4b22c8343aa7~3.png
Zlatan retired after this season so now the goal is to find a 15-20 goal per season striker this transfer window.
Pretty tough challenge

Season 2 under way
Needed to strengthen a few positions
First up CB position
Rafael Toloi from Atalanta
Triggered his buy out clause at €18 millions
95e6c72b-283d-416b-aff3-d3cf5785165d.png

Next one same position.
Mancini from Roma (owned by Atalanta) also triggered his buy out clause at €21 million

Left winger/defender Jorge from AS Monaco
A bargain at €8 million

Last but not least, I dusted off Pippo Insaghi from the lower leagues.
At 38 he'll be a valuable asset in the locker room and coming on the pitch when needed
911a5e04-9f7b-4c3b-8719-5dade298284f.png

Might get another striker for the future in at this window but I feel I have all I need at the moment.

First silverware in, The Supercoola Italiana where I beat Inter in a 2-1 thriller.
Good start to a long tough season where I'll be fighting with both Inter and Juventus for the Scudetto

First 2 league games
Napoli at home
4-1 me
6aee095e-9512-46ef-98a6-b8f6c77e210f.png
A very sloppy and passive Napoli which I had no issues dismantling
Then Udinese away, a game that had no rhythm at all, stops every other minute and I couldn't create enough to score Vs them and lost 1-0 on a goal in the 2nd minute.
My closest call to a rage quit in years.

Next up Celtic away in the first CL game of the season

We're struggling a lot early on in the season
Everything is like running in mud, really tough despite TS at 84-88
My loss to Udinese was followed by a poor showing in Glasgow

My home game vs newcomers Sampdoria wasn't a show of force exactly, but a narrow 1-0 win, barely won it
e800783d-c2f3-4a10-a891-c39f17d97335 (1).png

Then on to a always difficult Torino, had 1-0 like in Glasgow but managed to concede in the last 10 min again
e7cdaa36-f31c-4d2a-9856-48dece6a4e9f.png
Next two games will be Cagliari at home and Liverpool (also home) in the CL

Keep going Rock, the script definitely kicks in a bit more after a decent run of results and/or success.

Just play your way through it and you’ll be back to normal soon. Going strong mate 👍🏻

Cheers mate, actually feels good that the CPU kicks your ass and I have to work a little harder and not get the result handed to me

On to new games
A hard fought victory in Genoa saw us improving a lot from previous games
6e81c8e6-2f50-43fc-8201-75c5044c8412.png

Round 1 of the Coppa Italia and a very convincing victory against Crotone.
64564b48-8cce-4a52-a4ed-8d4bc3a0b720 (1).png

The Coppa Italia games also had AC Milan showing up the next generation
Maximilian Ibrahimovic made his first team debut at 16 and had a goal in the first leg
Most likely rotate him every now and then this first half of the season then send him out on loan
Great promises shown by the kid

Third game of our Champions League campaign took us to Nice and a fairly easy win Vs OGC Nice
262518e7-924c-4e36-9f23-681979478249.png

A string of "easier" games coming up for my next three rounds

Kinda hard, but after playing a game on my old pes 17 ML with Milan i started a new one with Genoa on Pes 17, and its really hard to play Pes 20-21 after that.
Nothing (except how they look) is better on PES 20-21.
Its really remarkable how much difference there is, cpu ai/how not cheated i feel despite low TS, not stumbling and having the ball picked off me/how responsive it feels/the element of suprise, almost jaw dropping after lots of 20-21
And not forget, free kicks and penalties , plus a wider variety in goals, even the shooting feels better

We'll see how things turn out, might go back to pes 20 again, but for now its a no go

Ultimate Master League 2025 - Houston Dynamo: Year One - Spring Championship Recap (Mid Season Review)

Since we are at the halfway point of this first season, I wanted to share my thoughts as I prepare for the start of the Fall Championship. First off, I can't express my thanks to all the people that have been tuning in live on twitch or watching these videos on youtube afterwards. Its been so fun to fire up a PES ML again and how rewarding all the hard work from all the modders here on EVOWEB that just make the game better. I have been pleased how difficult this ML has panned out (maybe a bit too well) so far and hope I can continue to bring a unique take on ML and the streams will continue to get better as I make more consistent time to stream it. So thank each and every one of you, now onto the recap.

1739418470728.png
1739418542018.png

After 19 matches, to say we are in a relegation fight is a understatement for this Spring Championship but that will happen when your ranked 19th in MLS for Goals scored and ranked 13th in Goals against it was fortunate that we found some results at the end of the season that kept us in the pack of the lower side of table but when 13th thru 17th only separated by only a single point, next championship in the fall will very intriguing to see who will slip up and get relegated. As of now due to the Goal differential, Houston is on the last relegation spot and will need to deliver a much better if Vince Ainsworth is to keep his job. The bottom 3 teams from the aggregate table from the Spring and Fall Championships will be relegated next season and 3 new MLS clubs will be brought up.

It was a two horse race for the lead at the halfway point as Miami pips Los Angeles FC by only 2 goals but based on the latest club rankings these two still look to be the favorites to hoist the Supporters Shield at the end of the year.

The club that overachieved in this Spring Championship was Montreal who were projected to be 19th at the start of the season and finished 6th overall at this stage. And the Houston was the biggest disappointment as they were the club rankings had them ranked 6th in the pre-season and we ended up in 18th.

1739419436070.png

And no big surprise that Leo Messi (Miami) cleans up the mid-season awards with 11 goals and 5 assists as the Spring MVP and Top Scorer. Victor Wanyama (Montreal) lead the league in assists with 8.

Houston's outlook going into the 2024 MLS Fall Championship

1739420479004.png

Pre-Season Objective: 13th
Mid-Season Objective: 17th

Even though the most recent Club Rankings have Houston as 7th best MLS club going into the Fall, producing goals will need to be a priority if Vince Ainsworth wants to keep his job at Shell Energy Stadium. There is sense amongst the supports feel like this club is starting to turned a corner in the last few months of the season and was just a few unfortunate mistakes away from being in the midtable. The youngster Aliyu was the one bright spot in the goal scoring department but others will need to step up and produce if things are to keep moving up for the Dynamo.

Vince has stated that the summer transfer window will be very active for Houston to rebuild the squad as all but 3 players on the senior roster have their contracts set to expire at the end of this season. One of the biggest question mark revolves around the Mexican International Hector Herrera who saw all his minutes come from the bench in the Spring and will the 34 year old want to continue to stay on the bench as Houston's highest paid player. It appears management is looking into reducing his contract significantly to justify his current bench role but if it can't get done then Herrera maybe looking for green pastures elsewhere this winter. Questions are also going to be ask of the recent retirement of the two most experience GK at the club and how Vince intends to fill that void down the road.

Stay tuned to my Twitch channel (www.twitch.tv/isureaper31) to interact with me and watch me play these games live.

Finally completed my Spezia ML on Pes 21.

Here a recap on how it ended:

It was treble, and a very thrilling one. Beating Milan in a very one sided Coppa Italia final, and Barça in a more balanced Champions League epilogue, I think winning Serie A totally took the spotlight. I was far beyond my direct rivals Juventus, after beating them in another epic clash in the 31th fixture, 8 points clear from them, so I was pretty comfortable to already have the League in my pocket.. but when the games that would gave me the mathematical victory started to play out, I lost and draw one after another, until I had only the last game against Sampdoria, in which I needed at least a draw..

Well, after a more or less dominated game, Sampdoria scored me at the 78th minute a goal that would have meant losing the Scudetto.. I almost tilted, but in a desperate effort with all the team on the offensive I found the draw with a Gvardiol tap in just few virtual minutes before the end, making me end at even points with Juventus (who beaten Milan) and gifting me the title just based on the direct confrontations (or maybe it's goal difference? Not too sure with rules in this game🤔).. probably the craziest ending I've ever had on a ML or Career ever 😅 :

final_league.jpg

It was especially emotional to win this one after 8 seasons (and I think something like 3 RL years of playing on and off this save?) and growing/discovering almost all the players that brought me here.. the georgian GOAT Davitashvili, bomber Wind, captain Pobega that IIRC it's the only one left out of the original team, Moises Caicedo that wasn't still this famous when I bought him, and many many others (good mention to Martinelli, who was my favourite winger of all the save although certainly already famous on his own) that all felt unique.

Congratulations buddy ,well deserved!
Could be a Vs thing, teams with the same points are separated by how the results between them has gone.
Check how the Serie B playoff works...
Very unclear :)

Will you be continuing?
Once again congratulazione amico!

Thanks a lot mate:BEER:!

Even if I was half tempted to play at least another season for the Club World Cup I'll probably stop here, I think winning the League this way is the nicest finish possible to this save, besides I'd be sad to see the guys decline (someone already started).. but never say never, maybe i'll come back to in the future :))

It's kinda hard when your players grows older/retires.
Never had that closeness on any of my FIFA careers.
My goal is to bring Genoa it's first scudetto since 1924 and Coppa Italia , last won in 1936.
Let's hope it goes to plan

My Genoa ML on Pes 17 (-2 game speed TP difficulty) is both very rewarding and frustrating, frustrating because of a 67 TS and a very poor team, but I hope to get a long run on this to eventually have a team that goes for Genoa's first scudetto since 1924 and/or Coppa Italia (last won in 1936)

Rewarding because game play is so good, not only the CPU ai, but also team mate ai is so much better than i remembered.

3 games played so far.
First game at home vs Sassuolo, a game that ended in a fair 1-1 draw.
Then Palermo away, a game we dominated but got hit on a long shot out of nowhere making it 1-0 Palermo before a few changes to the team and experienced striker Goran Pandev made it 1-1 and final result.
My Europa League debut was a ay to Fc Utrecht a game that we were the better side and came away with a well deserved 1-0 win

On to Milan Bologna at home.
Will be happy with a 6-10 position this year for sure.a2e4b8c8-1702-488d-af29-2d77e3a03b62.png

Cool one my friend. I coincidentally also started a Genoa ML in the previous days (on Pes 19). It's one of the teams I prefer to pick in Italy Indeed (love the shirt and the Genova derby).

Glad you are having fun on 17, one of the best chapters for sure!

Did a Fifa career on Fifa 19 with Genoa, for some reason never played them on Pes
The lanterna derby is one of the best in Italy for sure
Hope i ger a good ride and hopefully some silverware

Congratulations Mac!! A historical and beautiful treble indeed, mate!!
This is a truly amazing and epic feat that will live on long in the records of Madmac's football!! :BSCARF:

Rock, that's cool you are enjoying PES 2017. It's perhaps my favorite game of all time! :) I played 4 seasons with Reggina (starting as the lowest ranked team in the Calcio, maybe kinda similar to your campaign in that sense).. And it was one of my most rewarding experiences ever! There's something about 2017 I really love, it's the total package for me. :TU:

Switching topics for a second, wanted to ask all of you guys a question..

How closely do you follow country transfer rules or other restrictions? I'm playing a campaign with Incheon United (PES 2021, custom made Option File), and I want to try to follow the K-League country rules as much as I can (total of 6 foreign players total, 4 in matchday squad). I think this is going to be a bit difficult in the long run because not all Korean regens come back to the same league, and also very few Korean free agents in my Option File, but I would still like to try.

But in anycase, I would love to know if you guys manage this "country rule" or any other self-imposed restrictions when signing players/building your team?

I'm trying to follow both the rules (very lenient EU rules though) but also house rules.
When playing a bigger tram, I'm not really doing that, but for smaller teams always (or as much as possible)

Not signing any free transfers unless older players, not the great players with no team attached to them.

Always trying to have at least 2/3 of homegrown players in my squad.

No regens, always hated them.
Could make an exception if I get the chance to edit them first.

My longest ML run in PES 17 was with Genoa as well, around 4 or 5 seasons I think.

Unfortunately I made some transfer mistakes later in the game. Not in terms of building a bad team, in fact quite the opposite, but I tinkered too much with free agents and had an overpowered star team in the end. So it felt that I completely lost the team identity which killed it for me in the end.

Do it better and have fun!

Thanks a lot mate!:BSCARF:

As for the transfers, I try to follow in house rules depending on the kind of team I'm managing/story I have in mind.. not a fan of regens as well (although when I'll play a serious journeyman on FL like I wanted to do from some time, I intend to).

To be honest I don't pay too much attention to the country real life rules, but it sounds like a nice way to roleplay!

Thanks buddy, yeah getting an overpowered team kinda sucks after a while.
Had the same problem with one of my Milan ML on 17 once, but decided to rebuild (inventing some sort of a financial crisis)after 5 seasons and sold of most of my team and kept going with a goos but not great team for another 3 seasons
I'll take care of Genoa buddy
