Congrats. Outside of Celtic and Rangers it's quite the achievement winning any trophy in Scotland.

Oh. Unashamedly!

And yeah Celtic, especially, are so far ahead of everyone else. They should win every game they play in Scotland, especially teams other than Rangers.

On the way to the game we'd decided if we were three goals down after an hour we'd leave. I genuinely feared double figures.

Well I'm glad for you mate. Always nice to see a disruption in football. What I'm surprised about is that a multi million or billionaire hasn't invested in a Scottish team. It would instantly make the league more competitive with a few different clubs getting investment of that nature. Id assume Aberdeen, Hearts maybe Hibs would be the teams to invest in. I find it very strange some of the clubs haven't had big investors come in.

I'm late but, this was such an very, very, very poor french women team.

That was pretty unsportsmanlike at times from Germany. Passive time-wasting, especially from Berger – who also feigned injury several times to slow down the clock even further, so the team could discuss things again.

Reflecting on all of this after the game, the plan to save themselves from the more than deserved red card by going for a penalty shootout worked perfectly.

Coincidences do happen...

Also, I'm not really sure if the second goal that was disallowed due to offside was actually offside?
In my opinion, the French player didn't actively obstruct the German goalkeeper while offside. She was positioned to the side and therefore neither near the ball nor near the German goalkeeper.
I would classify everything that happened after that as a new situation in the game.

Overall, it wasn't a great game to watch. Quite the opposite.

If I remember correctly the offside player actually made a slight move to attempt to reach the ball, this is enough to be offside, according to the rules.

Awesome goal from Italy against England, a shame they couldn't hold out for the win. But the final should be more close between Spain and England.

Agreed with your thought. Italy and Germany should deserve this Euro Final. Too bad they couldn't hold out for the win at the end despite having some kind of close fight until 120 mins.

I haven't such a big interests for the women's football. Spain might be the favorites to win the entire thing (and potentially repeating what they did in the women's World Cup back in 2023 and the men's Euro the last year), but anything is still possible in the football, especially how England did the unthinkable when it comes to crucial moments like they did against Sweden and Italy, despite of disappointing start in the group stage's opener against France. A win (and back-to-back Euro champions) will be a great achievement for this women's team of England, something the men's team didn't (the men's team had even lost back-to-back Euro FInals under Gareth Southgate).
 
At least a lucky win for England, because it came on penalties. Congratulations!

But what a huge gift from the Spanish coach to England, substituting Alexia in the 71st minute.

What a shame! I would have preferred it for the Spanish women team. But with the unrest between the Spanish FA and some of the players, it's not going to happen.
Especially when the Spanish coach also torpedoes her own team.
 
Just before the 2005 final and its famous result.. AC Milan made the same result vs Palermo for the last matchday of the season

I'm also very excited about this season's UCL.

Besides those two games, I heard that City vs Napoli, Juventus vs Dortmund, Newcastle vs Barcelona, and Bayern vs Chelsea are also a great matchups, at least for the 1st matchday.

Oh yeah, and this season's UCL is more unpredictable than the last one. Every teams are pretty much stacked, especially Chelsea and Napoli. These 2 teams can be a contender for winning the UCL after what they did in the last season, particularly Chelsea with the historic Club World Cup triumph, which many people thought PSG will easily win the final. And remember that lesser teams can still shine in this new UCL mode. Would be excited to see Bodo/Glimt having a perfect record at home (due to their own stadium being so hard to beat, especially during the winter condition) or (maybe) Kairat to get better results at home (because of away teams needing to travel for at least 10-12 hours to Kazakhstan, specifically Real Madrid).

I'm obviously not interested in Vardrid myself.
So I hope that OM can at least annoy them for as long as possible and, in the best case scenario, take a point with them.

But I'm rather sceptical.

And I've been a sympathiser of Bilbao for quite some time now, and I think Arsenal has a really good team this year.
Hopefully it will be interesting and exciting for me.

On Wednesday, I'll watch either LFC v Atleti or Ajax v Inter.

On Thursday, if anything, I'll probably watch Frankfurt v Gala.

Napoli is also great, but I can't stand Conte, and Man City is absolute rubbish anyway.
Last weekend was the Manchester derby.
There was absolutely no atmosphere at the Etihad Stadium. Dead silence! But what can you expect from a club like that...

Hasnt been a proper atmosphere in The PL for years and years
Compare it to The Bundesliga or my native Allsvenskan (sweden) and its absolute garbage

And one sliding tackle from Medina which he blocks with his legs the ball. And after this the ball bounce a little bit in the air near the pitch
and touched the arm from Medina - penalty... in addition it seems there was no VAR decission...

At this moment Vardrid had a red card and the score was 1:1.

That's just fraud.
It's bloody awful.

Big clubs have all the "luck" ...
 
The only funny thing that I heard about the first matchday of UCL was Qarabag's comeback against Benfica (they won 3-2 after being 2 goals down).
Also, Belgian champions (and debutant) Union Saint Gilloise outclassed their Dutch counterpart PSV in the rare "Low Countries" matchup.
I found these 2 from someone's comments in YouTube.
