Contradicting information here from the official PS3 forums

Regarding the Saints Row 2 Tesco £15 Fiasco - ALL READ

Right, if i post this in the main thread it will just get lost.

I ordered 5 copies seperately last night at the price of £15. As of 16:38 today, 3 of them have been cancelled, so i decided to phone them up and be a bit cheeky and ask why. The person on the phone said they WILL NOT be honoring the price and all orders will be cancelled shortly if they havent been already. This prompted me to be a bit more cheeky and ask to speak to the manager or someone in charge (Just to get final confirmation for everybody)

The Manager, then also confirmed they are NOT honouring the price. When I asked why, as they were the perfect birthday present (bit more cheeky) he said as it was a pricing error, and they dont have to honour the price as it would be stupid from Tescos point of view to do so. I said, ok, cheers for your time and bye.

Perfectly nice people, who gave a perfectly reasonable answer and I hope this has killed this one dead square bang on the head!

But then someone posts saying;

Well i just phoned Tesco up from the website i bought it from and i will still be getting the game for 15.98 as it was an offer untill they ran out of stock. Thank you TESCO

This is complete madness, i just came off the phone to tesco, and the guy advised me that the orders that were placed last night will be honoured as a good will gesture, But There is a small chance that someone higher up might have summit say about it and cancel this decision ........

Seems they might all be cancelled - or they might just be cancelling all but 1 order for those people who bought 5 or 6 copies.

Thats a tough question

I like everything about it from just cruising to find out what the ? are on the map to the missions to all the activities to customising cribs and cars (and the fact that money means something in this game)

There is so much variety that you cant get bored, even causing mayhem in the streets (which i didn't even bother with in GTA) is a good laugh

all in all its just a brilliant and fun game
 
Do they still have the side missions where you have to cause X amount of damage in a time limit? They were always fun especially in an area with the subway trains

Yep they are called Mayhem and are great

i like to just run while throwing hand grenades everywhere :LOL:
 
Same here, ah well, no harm done, was only going to pick it up cheap anyhow, c'est la vie.
 
Ah shit on a stick. They've cancelled mine as well. So much for telling people they would honour that price - I'll just have to give my money to someone else then.

Just sent the above to http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ at least we can find out if they're allowed to do that.
 
did they announce that they 'accidentally' promoted the game at that price? Someone who rang them and spoke to someone was told it was a special deal until their early stock had ran out
 
tesco take the piss i wouldn't mind if they cance my order by saying there was a mistake with the online price but why lie and say they can't get hold of my item, so i orderded one at the new price to see if they can get my item this time

It is

I went on it again last night and the first thing i wanted to do was go to the plastic surgeon or so i thought.....

On the way i got in a car that was needed at the chopshop, so i took it over to it, while i was there i saw a new chopshop mission so delivered a few more cars.
Then i went for a change of clothes before i redid my appearance and on my way i found a new hitman list. One was go to a casino, so i went killed him then played poker for a bit after that i spotted another guy on the map so i raced over and took him out as well.

Then again i was on my way to do my appearance and i got in another car that was needed at the chopshop, so once again i took it there. That put me me next to chopper activity so i did that while i was near it, after that i was near a proper mission so i thought i may as well do that as well, so 2+ hours later i turn the game off and i still hadn't done my appearance which was the first thing i planned on doing when i put the game on :LOL:

Oh and that may sound boring but it aint at all, the police chase you when you get a chopshop vehicle and most hitmans you get in a fire fight so for the most part it was all action :))

I'm so unsure on whether to get this. I may just wait a month or two and get it with CEX credit. Far Cry 2 and LittleBigPlanet are out soon and we'll probably buy them instead.

Not boring to me, I love games like this. I was playing the first one last night and similar things happen to me, had the intention of doing the next mission when some random NPC "dissed" me and I had to take my platinum riot gun to his face.

Old bill saw this and took exception so I had to dish out some punishment to them for a while, then jumped in an empty cop car and went for the nearest forgive and forget.

Got through it and realised that I needed to tool up so went to my crib then to the gunshop (can't remnember the name!) got tooled up robbed the gunshop, shot the shop-keep and then went to do the mission, saw a tasty car, stole that went to rim jobs, pimped it out then eventualy went to do the mission!

Looking forward to Friday.
 
haha that sounds like what im going through

Nothing is straight forward in SR2. There is always something that will drag you off what your originally doing

Talking of Police, i don't know if it was in SR1 but if you destroy anything near the Police you will get a wanted level, say like hitting a lamp post and stuff and sometimes they have started chasing me when i have sped past them. Also if you drink a 40oz in view of them they don't like it, i guess its the same if you smoke a blunt as well :LOL:

I noticed there was a Chinese restaurant yesterday called "Phuc me, Phuc you" :LOL:
 
I'm going to buy this, hopefully they will have it in the import shop here will get it for around 30 quid. It looks like it's everything GTA missed and your posts have made me wanted to buy it.

Lol Phuc me sideways, I don't think they do in 1 to be honest I was drunk last night and ran past one and he didn't seem to care. Plus I've knocked over countless lamp posts without any wanted level appearing.

I only get a wanted level when hurting civvies/coppers, ramming a cop car, robbing a store, shooting randomly into the air, stuff like that.

Not sure about drinking in front of them tho. I did find out last night that if you drink and punch someone your punches launch people in the air. Seems you're a lot harder when drinking!

Is the wanted system the same from the first game?

I cant remember how it was in the first

In this when you get a star and you have a blue bar circling the map and when you haven't seen a copper for a while it starts to go down. once its gone down fully you lose 1 star and the bar goes back to the top again and repeats (if you have more stars).
If you have 3 or more your fucked and you only hope is a forgive and forget :LOL:

the same applies for gangs

Yeah, the same which is good.

Looking forward to this, for me this is the better franchise (GTA) this game is much more fun and at the end of the day that's why we play games. GTA4 was technicaly a brilliant game but seemd a little bit like a one trick pony to me. A bit bland.

SR2 is looking like it'll be shitloads of fun.

Asda will be selling this from midnight tonight if anyone's interested.
