Rainbow Six : Vegas 2

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

We've been through this before Placebo, a shooter's a shooter, don't be so bloody picky ;)

Thanks JB - yea, sorry for not being specific Placebo, Right stick aims, left stick moves, right trigger shoots! You say tomato and I say potato! :D

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

I don't get it - are the slow-down problems only online or in single-player too? Will an update fix these problems? I'm reading real negative stuff about this game all over the internet.

I was gonna buy it on Tuesday too :(

Single player!

Like slowdown when running a highspec game on a low spec PC!

Jerks around like nobody's business and makes it hard to aim or know where you are being fired on from...

MP had some lag issues, but its not the same. 95% of the MP games I played yesterday were fine.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

I havnt seen any of the stuff Pboreham is saying . weird

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

This is going to sound stupid but I reckon it's Xbox specific, for some weird weird reason. I've not seen it jerk once, and neither has my nephew - who's played the whole story to completion. And neither has someone from round the corner who has completed about half the story.

I'd not even heard of these issues until I read this thread (I didn't read the reviews, I knew I was getting a Vegas sequel and that's all I was worried about).

How weird! Thats why i said in my post that i'm surprised nobody has seen it..

None of my other games do this. As I said, at its worst is the Rooftop level, think its the 2nd part. When you storm the kitchen to save the hostage and from there go into the like upstairs of the casino. You can breach through 2 doors and no matter how I do it - smoke, flash, no smoke/flash, the amount of people in the room just jerks the entry to a crawl.

Then once you clear the room, its not much better. You still have some people on the lower level and trying to kill them from upstairs is virtually impossible as it starts jerking again and the sound of gunfire cuts out - so all you can see are tracers jerking past - or the screen flashing to show you've been hit.

Took me AGES to get past this point due to the fact I couldnt kill anyone.

When I did manage to clear that, the next part where you enter the slot machine room - slowdown again and again chaos of jerky aiming.

It does get a bit better after that, but further into the next section it comes and goes again and the sound cuts off etc.

Jerking seems to be worse when you are in cover and peeking round objects etc is difficult because of it.

Cannot see a reason for it being XBOX specific though. For my setup, I've got a Premium with 20gb, connecting to HDTV by RGB monitor cable.

Every other game works fine...

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

No problems up my end.

Enough about your arse, what about the game....

I havent noticed any of the problems that pbb is mentioning either, how odd is that?!

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Weird!

When you guys went through that section, would you say it was perfectly smooth then?

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

I didnt notice any slowdown or anything like it mate :SS

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Paul you got in PS3 mate? (sorry if you've already said so)

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Sorry, I meant "have you got it on 360 or PS3?" :)

Thats gotta d be something to do with your TV or 360 then mate

I have seen it on 4 peoples 360/TVs including mine and none had any slowdown or lag in SP or MP

you get lag occasionally in MP but you get that with most game when someone with a shit connection joins but it usually sorts itself out

Ah yea, its different to MP lag, its definately like choppy and jerky play. Spose could be something to do with the streaming from the DVD drive? Doesnt make any noise or anything... just grasping at straws!

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Got someone on AVF saying they have had this issue too...

Will keep an eye on that thread too.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

That's all well and good, but FPS is not all shooters and all shooters are not the same, but that's a tedious discussion that's neither here nor there :)

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 room will be set up at 7pm tonight guys.

Be there or....don't. Whatever, it's up to you :)).

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

are you doin Team Deathmatch with no respawns or mixing it up a bit?

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

We'll mix it up matey :))

I liked that Team Leader mode, that was cool. Plus we can try out a few more :)).

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

I've had some of the slowdown thats been talked about. Although it only happened once and the strange thing was, it was the second time I played that part of the level and first time I played it I had no slowdown whatsoever.

It was in Act 3 when you're in the Hawkins institute and just going into the big room with the climbing walls and all the enemies rappel down from the upper floors.

The first time I played it it was fine but I got killed, so when it reloaded, the minute I opened the door to go in and sent the monkeys in the double doors the whole thing just slowed to a crawl for about 15 seconds. I think it might be the way the game does try to randomise the enemies spawn points and/or direction a certain way and if it happens to choose a lot of the same method, it struggles to cope.

Wild speculation there but it has to be something to do with it. It was too random otherwise and I've not seen it previously or since.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2

When you say anyone and everyone, does that mean I can invite my nephew? :D If so, I'm in.

Just think how satisfying it will be to kill him.
