Quick Update. Working still progressing well on this and I'm currently working on ML salaries (so expect a release in about 2045

). I want to get them so that there are no top end players on peanuts and vice versa. I'm also not using the one's that end up with ridiculous salaries. I'm changing those to stats of 1 across the board and naming them Do Not Use. Hopefully with the stats of 1 the cpu won't entertain them either.
I've got enough teams in now that I'm going to start a test ML and update it here. I plan to just do one season and try not to get too invested in the team and players!
I've set it to the highest difficulties, normal transfers, 20 min matches. I've chosen the team randomly and have been given Lille.
D2 consists of Brondby, CF America, CFR Cluj, Dinamo Brest, FC Midtjylland, Molde, Radnicki Nis and Lille.
I've started with 3000 points and team salary is 6921. So a few wins will be required or a fire sale.
I have a full 32 man squad consisting of (registered positions)
GK (3) CB (5) SB (1) DM (5) CM (4) AM(4) WF(4) CF (4)
So, a fairly balanced squad bar the SB situation although 3 of the CB's can play SB and one of the DM's can play CB, so that should give enough cover.
First match is away to Brondby.
I'm going to go with a 4-3-3 for the first match and for the first game I'll use auto select as I have no knowledge of any of these players. I'll probably try to use as many as possible over the first 2/3 games to get some idea of what they are like.
Lineup
Chevalier (GK)
Ranucci (RB) Lesage (CB) Gueye (CB) Vandenameel (LB)
N'landu (CM) Mouaddib (Capt) (DM) Pau (CM)
Hamache (RW) Barry (CF) Ceita )(LW)
Mentioning about the balanced squad above reminds me that there are plenty of really interesting ML challenges to be had with quite a few of the squads, some of which are over stocked in some positions whilst threadbare elsewhere. Some with 17,18 or 19 players, others, like Lille with a full quota of 32.
Each will bring its own challenges particularly with the salaries. Take on one of the best teams and will you need to offload players to make sure you have enough points for salary. Thing is who do you sell early on with all the players 18 or under - how can you tell who is going to progress into a star player. Maybe you just sold a future international for peanuts. At the other end of the scale, a tiny squad will mean a tiny salary which may give you room to add to it. But in the meantime how do you deal with the stamina problem of such a small squad? And potentially depending on the team, a real lack of numbers in terms of quality. Can you get promotion when your three key players are never fully fit and you have to keep resting them?
Can Lille and their big squad nick one of the two promotion spots? Can
@miguelfcp 's nemesis, FC Midtjylland's youth team, be beaten?
