PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

You can't completely write off PES yet, yes it does look inevitable that FIFA will be better once again but PES could still be a game worth having this year if they have put a lot of work into it.

This is the stance I am taking as well. I'm disappointed with trailer, but it was just that - a trailer, and a bad one at that - but it doesn't mean the game will be bad. It just confirms that Konami are piss-poor at PR and product promotion, something we've known for a long time. Konami were bad at this even during the better times.

I'm hoping Konami follow-up with a gameplay video asap. Then I can put my mind at rest or confirm my worst fears about PES2010.

On the plus side, the screenshots were very good, apart from a few issues I have with the night-lighting.

The difference in graphical quality is clear in all the images.

Judging by crowds, it seems as if the virtual fans prefer PES.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

damn these japanese dimwits. theyre going to come out with an improved version of pes2009 when ppl have been screaming for a remake of the good old pes5/pes6 days. u japanese dimwits deserve to live in ur japanese holes and not come out if u really prove me right.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Messi's shirt is untucked.

What about Torres and Riera and the rest of the untucked lovers?

Whats the point in just untucking the cover stars shirt.

It goes back to the age old argument.

We could untuck in PS2 games why not now.

I bet Konami was just too lazy too untuck Torres' etc. shirts.
I bet it will be available in the edit mode;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

It better be, otherwise it would mean they are a complete joke with no excuse whatsoever (not that they have many excuses left anyway.... and no, not because OMG untucked shirts w00t!!1, but because it is such a simple thing to implement that it would be intolerable to have them ignore it once again).

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I know it comes across as a joke with the whole untucked issue.

But If you watch any football game in the world 50% of players have untucked shirts that is fact.

It adds to the look of the animations in gameplay.

When everybody is tucked in it looks very robotic and silly.

PES5 was the first game where untucked shirts were featured in the Edit Mode. When the first screenshots were released only Javier Saviola had his shirt out. When you first accessed Edit Mode the vast majority of players had their shirts tucked in including Eto'o, Guily and Ronaldingho.

What part of "the graphic is not the problem" isn't clear to you, mate?

I'm not allowed to post a comparison shot without trying to prove a point?

Yes, your evidence is clear and unquestionable. ;)

Agree with this completely.

We are paying £30.00 plus it should not be our job the untuck players shirts.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Good point. I guess I'm not too f*cked about it as long as it's there, I spend most of my time in Edit Mode anyway, but if it's not included again then Konami have no excuses.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm mostly worried about the lack of animations during gameplay and the running animations.
In PES 2008 and 2009 the game would get so repetitive, doing the same things 50 times on the same match. I know they've been working with Messi on the Motion Capture, but still I can't seem to imagine 300 new animations, FIFA style, where everything is so dynamic just because there are about 30 different animations to chose from, for every aspect of the game itself (whether it be a header, a shot, dribbling, etc). And it's just up to you to be able to discover new stuff all the time. Hell, about a year has passed since FIFA 09 and I'm still pretty sure I haven't figured out everything you can do.

If Konami included about 8 different running animations, and at least 100 new animations for different gameplay situations, then the game should feel a lot different.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Jesus Navas! I finally managed to watch the trailer today and I am either the most narrow minded/deluded/konami whipped/fanboy under the sun because I didn't see shit. Where exactly is the robotic animations, baywatching and poor graphics? All I saw were interesting sliders and the messi movement that shows good movement but it is rendered and cant be used to judge the game.
Honestly, I think people have set opinions on what PES 2010 is going to be like. Someone mentioned that they will wait for the demo. But I reckon it wont make a difference. So start writing your reviews boys.

As things stand PES 2010 will be on my games to get list along with FIFA 10 if the world cup license is included. I recognise PES2009 flaws but still managed to get enjoyment out of 400 hrs of BAL. I just want the AI and that multi player magic back along with proper animations and movement. Role on the videos and lets see what konami have under the hood.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

FIFA 10 if the world cup license is included.
It won't be, seperate games are always released for the major international tournaments (Euros/World Cup). The last one to have club teams and the World Cup was FIFA:RTWC 98.
