PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

its far to early to start slating the game i think hte trailer is just to show thr graphical change between 2009 and 2010 images look good the player movement in the video will be changed remember they only started oding the mo-cap thing last week and they still have to add textures wich konmai said a few weeks ago is the last thing they add

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I just dont get this from konami at all?

Whatever you think about konami, wether you think the series is going forward or on its arse. The trailer is ...... well a bit - meh

They break the trend and seem to be really pushing the PR this year, with the online blogs and early news and even taking it to e3... but then come up with this?

I wonder what response konami are expecting from this? can they realy say they are proud of the trailer?

And the difference between 2009 and 2010??? Apart from a slightly different colour pallette in places and better lighting - i cant see the improvement??? Same player models, same animations?? Which was surely one of the bigger issues fans brought up about 2009 - do they listen at all?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Right fella's, discussion of the trailer, screenshots and PES news is what this topic is for.

Discussion of WENB and their reactions to the same information are worthless and pointless here. If you need to comment on them so badly, go to WENB and do so please.

Cheers.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Dar yes ok but you do know that those people only allow positive comments? And the Conami screens and trailer are shite in my view

Why don't you head over there and see all the negativity because of the trailer on the forums now?

There is a difference between constructive criticism and just slating left and right you know.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Incidentally, Konami are apparently reading the WENB forums to gauge opinions so if you want to shout obscenities at the company directly then here's your chance.

Looking back, today didn't reveal all that much. An ambiguous video followed by the traditional "PES rip" stuff, yadda, yadda, yadda, moan about shirts, shorts, wait a few months and repeat.

It'll be interesting to see where Konami goes from here, what with their new PR offensive being confronted with the first wave of hissyfits. I reckon it wont be too long before we start hearing specifics about what was in the trailer and what we can expect to stay or be gone come October.

And the Conami screens and trailer are shite in my view

This is evo-web down to a t.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

badgerman - I know everyone here loves either loves PES, or like me are an EX PES fan, but I feel you are being blinded by the love. Teasers are not there to make you think, oh that was ok, I'll watch it a few more times before I make a judgement, or wait for the next one.

Trailer are promotional vehicles there so you watch once and are blown away and think... I want that game! And you should want to watch it again becuase its fantastic, not out of a need do pick out something, anything, to make you like it. Look at the other trailers at E3. Games coming out much later than PES but the trailers looking much, much more promising with much higher production values/effort.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If this is all the pes 2010 we're getting from this E3, then that's even more disappointing than the teaser itself. Anyone heard if anything else will be shown?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Does anyone know if this is all they went to E3 with?

A soccer game with less than a minute of footage and 5 screenshots in total isn't exactly going to set the world alight with the razzamatazz of EA nearby.

That's my main issue. I caught a bit of E3 on xbox.com and watched some of the other companies showing off their upcoming titles and to be honest I was blown away by some of it (Forza 3, Splinter Cell Conviction, etc). Some stunning and much more revealing stuff from games that will be released later than PES.

Then compare and contrast to PES2010. What are Konami playing at?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

What annoyed me is that the company releases a press statement saying they are listening to the fans, but we don't even get a second of gameplay footage when they know the fans have been clamoring for PES gameplay to be "next-gen" for years now.

KONAMI get all the negativity they deserve IMO.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I've spotted something that could be considered tactical ignorance from Konami in the teaser.

Watch the defenders. They run towards their own goal. They should be running backwards, facing the opponent's goal. Defenders NEVER give their back to the opponent's attacking play.

Oh and the running animation is still retarded, players DO use their arms for running, japanese people clearly grew up watching dragon ball characters run and loved it.

You're back! Long time no see!

Anyway, I think you're confusing the function of a teaser trailer with a full trailer; a teaser is a small taste to wet your appetite for more information. The full trailer is what sells the product. A lot of the criticism levelled at Konami today is their use of the teaser trailer in an event like E3. In an event of this magnitude surely this is where you throw your big bollocks on the table for all the world to see. I can't say I'm not disappointed either. The trailer didn't show us anything baring a few tactical improvements and abilities and a few new animations. Here's hoping they have something with far more substance soon.

You could question that criticism because Fernando Torres is the one making the recovery tackle. It's a teaser trailer, everything's coreographed.

Sharped your knives fellas. :DD

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Very dissapointed at the trailer. Looks like the same rehashed pile of turd to me. Such a disrespect to us really. I mean, it just doesn't smell good. Why oh why would they give us this crappy, awful, senseless trailer if they have made some great leaps in improvements. If this year's version is so great, why do they keep hiding it?

Why can't they just show it off like EA did with Fifa. When you know your product plays good and looks good, the ideal thing anyone would do is to show it off and watch the observers drool with excitement, and the competitors tremble with fear.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

They're using the "it's too early" excuse now, even though it's only a couple of months away, same as the past years. Except Konami have been working on PES 2010 for years supposedly.. LOL!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Trailer looked dull. It didn't excite like a trailer is suposed to. The arts and crafts amateurish presentation is still there I see. Also, that looks nothing like Messi. As an initial impression, I'm not impressed, at all. I think I know where this game is headed. This is just my opinion. Please put down the pitch forks.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The main problem is that this is still the same engine, so we will get slightly better PES 2009 , and this is not what we wanted, this year will be the first year when I am buying only FIFA on next gen , PES is dead for me, I wanna see new engine, 360 movemement, and at least non lagging 5vs5 at least ! Otherwise stick this shit to your japanese arse !

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

for the record, i liked the trailer. it all looked realtime and messi's running animations were pretty neat. i bet they have a build with some new motion capture in there. the game simply isn't ready yet guys.

this is blatantly gonna be a late november release.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

i dont understand why konami can release a new 3min mgs gameplay trailor for psp but cant release a proper pes trailer, the mind boggles!!!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If their too stubborn to listen to the community about how to make a trailer then they should take advice from Kojima, he is in house after all.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

What concerns me the most are two aspects:
-Running animation which seems to be the same
-The "i wanna be like FIFA" bright look. I think Konami old gen visual approach way way better and more meaningful with a palette choice that might not have been realistic but made playing the gme very easy and clear to the eye (with the excetpion of the infamous vodakom park..)....

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

classic post love it 'grew up watching dragon ball characters run and loved it'

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Up to now, what I really expected. No real news for pes, no showing, no talking, only vague promises and a crap teaser. That could work when Fifa was a poor arcade some years ago, but right now... it's quite worrying to say the least.

It's not only the poor teaser they showed, but the fact that it seems they don't know what they're aiming for.

Let's really really hope they're too busy redefining the game, specially controls, animations, AI, physics and online.
