Given some of there efforts they should be fined not paid...Maybe they don't pay 'em much![]()
IMHO the DESIGNER of that model and of many others in FIFA09 should be executed on spot...
A little extreme don't you think...![]()
WENB: Konami Responds to Community Concerns said:First things first, lets get any incorrect perceptions about the picture out of the way. I’ve been reading some posts in forums around the world, and some less informed think the Messi screenshot is actually a render. The picture is, in simple terms, a screen grab. Along with WENB, the official PES blog posted the screen on its site. It was supposed to represent a member of the team in the development office taking an actual shot of the game and posting it up for the fans. No photoshopping, no picture enhancing, just a straight forward screen grab. The message is a simple one - Konami have nothing to hide.
Onto the header of the post. The quality of the Barcelona emblem has many people wondering whether it’s just the faces that are getting the true next-gen treatment. The answer comes down to the development timeline, and scheduling certain aspects of the game by importance. The kits as a whole are worked on instantly, but the extra detail (badges, numbers etc) is put on last. Therefore the actual emblem in the screenshot is technically called a placeholder - something that’s there while they work on other things. The final quality of the kits will match the incredible quality of Messi’s face.
For a few that particular news will be most important, but most will see the bigger picture. For Konami to come out and respond to minor criticism in a screen shows a massive shift of emphasis, and their undying commitment to the community. In the the grand scheme of things, that is the real news.
Yes, I'm fearful that if Konami ask for feedback all the decent suggestions will be drowned out by people demanding real-time cloth physics, realistic hair movement and "nextgen graphics".

PES 2010
My first go at PES2010!

Back from Japan with nasty food poisoning but no bad taste in my mouth after I played the new PES!

As a die-hard fan I am happy to report that 2010 is looking really promising. I was treated to some demos of what the new lighting, textures and animations are like and in my humble opinion the changes really made a big difference. Check out the first screenshot for yourself.

I got to see changes to the team first hand. Numbers have swelled and the WEP development area is now buzzing. I was also treated to a look at the newly formed "future development" department, but that is all very hush hush. Good to see the team really thinking about PES years from now.

Seabass was also kind enough to give me a first hands-on with the gameplay, which is at a really early stage. It is going in the right direction for fans. Goals are harder to score, with less down to luck or mistakes. Support for the man with the ball is also better. I really like what they are doing with penalties and strategies too. So much I could talk about, but I want to keep my job. Finally, to all those with eagle eyes who spotted something on my screen during my last blog...can't say much more at the moment. We've already said the fan will be our focus this year and into the future. Hope to start proving that shortly.

I know Konami did read this forum in the past. I remember posting something new I got from a Konami representative three years ago and within an hour after posting I got a mail that I should not post it overhere! It's great having Konami being more proactively in regards to the community, but can you imagine being the guy assigned with dealing with us lot?
I mean, I can only barely get through this thread on some days and all I do is sit back and take the piss.
Imagine having to compile a list of fans concerns, to which you then find yourself talking through with your manager. Your eyes scrolling through the list, genuine concerns interspersed between inane shite. You think the worst is over, with your dignity relatively intact, until you glance at the final bullet point.
Sweat drips down your face, contemplating how many drinks this'll take to forget.
There's no escaping it.
"And finally..." You mutter
"EARS."

I don't think Konami still reads things on EVO-web anymore.
There have been so many childish posts overhere and most of those for the sake of negativeness.
I agree PES 2008 and PES 2009 were way below the level you should expect and I was annoyed as well about it.
There is a difference though between critisism and negativism and yes I try to imagine how some people overhere would treat a Konami-representative on this board.
The WENB forum is the counterpart of EVO-web; People overthere are usually over-positive, like people here are over-negative.
It is no wonder that Konami decided to read and react on the posts on the WENB-forum.
I agree that people on that forum should be a little more critical, but you have to admit that their way of approaching things work for them, according to the REAL contacts with Konami
So, in other words: Do you want news? Then the EVO-web community have missed their chance with this general negative attitude.
There is a Konami PR guy on the WENB boards, which IMO , is a nice addition and could prove to be very helpful indeed.

Steve, are there any snippets or hints which may concern us that you can give away or hint at, even the slightest of details would be appreciated like ermmmm...SANDBAGS?
As always, WENB makes you feel everything is perfect just before the game is released, and after that they criticize it and close the site and turn back to fifa, they are like double agents, craving money from both sides, cheap fucks.
I played a spot of WE10 last night and good lord. It was like putting on my favourite pair of slippers.
It's fun, the shooting is right and the players seem to move with freedom. It's perhaps the only PES version where the auto-feint actually works every now and then. I know that looking back 3/4 years doesn't sound all that attractive but goddamn, that game is brilliant. It felt as if it was the first time I had played a proper football game in years.
So yeah, make this game again, remove all of the bugs, throw in a load of animations, tweak the gameplay a bunch and give it the next gen polish without breaking it.
You're my favorite poster here.
