When they made PES 3 they had dropped the Playstation version and concentrated on the next gen PS2 version from scratch with the new game engine etc.

I'm struggling to remember when we usually get trailers and the like.

Also, didn't they release PES1 and 2 on the PS1 or am I mistaken? I'm sure they continued supporting for PS1 for a few years after the PS2 was released.

Thats my point PES1 and PES2 were ports of the PS1 games when PES3 was made it was made solely for the PS2 and had the new engine i am worried because they are still making PES 2010 for the PS2

I guess the fact that they still make and will make Wii version has the same effect? I guess all those 200 developers are not enough....

Get's a bit iffy when you start to bring in the Wii version.

It's a different situation now compared to the early PS2 days. There's not necessarily going to be a grand revamp, a la PES3, where the series shifts focus onto the next generation.

I think after the past 10 years or so we've learned, I hope, that we have absolutely feck all hope of being able to second guess Konami. I remember when PES3 was released and I wasn't aware of the changes until I had the game in my hand.

Actually, now I think of it as WE7 it all of a sudden comes back to me. I remember that game coming off the back of WE6FE and being amazed by the set pieces and the general flow of the game. They need to get that flow back, the way through balls could cut open the defence whilst a shot taken at the right angle with just the right power always stood a chance.

No more small updates Konami! We want revolution or we are going to fifa10!

Just yesterday artwork slide show does not work, there was no connection to the server

I thought by now, they might have had some smaller dedicated team working on like the PS2 version, Wii version and hand held version... I swear I heard something about thats what they have done...

Or maybe made that up in my head as that would make too much sense...

So expecting screen shots and possibly words of info at 1pm or is it literally just one in game shot of Messi?

Konami showcases massively enhanced graphics engine as
PES revamp continues apace


Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has released the first in-game image of its forthcoming PES 2010 title, demonstrating the stunning new level of detail and graphical refinement the new game enjoys.


The work in progress image shows cover star Lionel Messi in action in the new game, and showcase a massive advance in aesthetic detail. Crucial to the new game’s look are all-new dynamic lighting effects, where the position of the sun or the illumination from the floodlights is reflected in real time within the shadows cast both on the pitch, stadium, the ball and players.


The newly-expanded Tokyo-based PES Productions team has also worked hard to create the most vivid player recreations to date. Player expressions are now fully implemented, while the level of detail has been extended to individual skin textures and different weaves for the various kits to mimic the breathable material so many manufacturers now use.


Further details will be released in the coming weeks.

The kit looks like its glued onto his body but His face is excellent, the background looks good too.

Definitely a big improvement.

Looks good! Pity about not showing the rest of his body but I'll let that go cause its still pretty early

Hmmm, it's been a while since one of these PES pics has impressed me.

I can't tell for sure, what with the excessive blurring, but the crowd definitely seems more realistic. It seems as if there are individuals instead of blocks of colours.

PES2010 use PES6 online system (in better of course), it's confirmed by Nicolas Dyan from Konami France during "La Foire de Paris"

The kit is from PES 2009? Are the ears from PES 2009 as well? Because they look identical.

I know I won't get impressed nor fooled by a still until I see genuine gameplay footage which shows progress and huge changes.
