After getting into FIFA and playing with real clubs in real leagues with real cups and play offs etc, I can't think of going back to make believe ML... :FAIL:

Nick, but if you compare FIFA's Manager Mode with Football Manager...it's also not a very good effort...
To me Football Manager with FIFA09's gameplay and PES' players individuality would be the perfect game (but that's utopic)

No I agree FIFA could and should be miles better, but at least they have the building blocks based in reality not the fantasy world of the ML...;)

looks like konami finally got the message the fans wanted,even if pes2010 wont be the game we all want the foundations are being put in place for pes11 and 12,pes10 should be by the sounds of it like what pes3 was to the ps2

I'm probably the only person here that's apprehensive over the Champions League being integrated into the Master League. Granted, if the game is good It's not gonna stop me buying it and I'd still play the mode, but I've always preferred the option to name my own competition. It makes it that much more personal. What does this do for teams like Boca Juniors or River Plate, assuming they're included like past games? What of those teams we ourselves create? It just wouldn't be right to see them in an competition governed by Europeans and for those who take our football gaming somewhat seriously it would dent the sense of realism. If they are to have it then I hope it's optional for the user to include it or not; fully licenced Champions League and Europa League or generic continental competition we ourselves can customize. I'm fine with it if I'm a European team but I want flexibility. I'm not always gonna be a European team.

Nope, there'll be no choice. Boca (if you include them) will be in the CL and Kaka will sign for Birmingham. The ususal ;)

I didn't play much of ML last year, instead I was more involved with BAL. This year I'm hoping they're able to add more of a personal touch to the mode instead of the random events that seem to shape a career.

Also I reckon that BAL was more attractive because the team game of 2009 wasn't really up to scratch. If they're now in the game of addressing fan concerns, then they can start there.

There was a roumor that with the next PES (PES010), they will use the NaturalMotion euphoria Engine, but it seams that they will probably not use it this time

A.TeamWork
To be able to attain the fan's various expectations on game improvements, different specialized teams each worked on a particular aspect. Gameplay, online, A.I, atmosphere, graphics, animations...almost everything has been retouched and refined.

B. Set pieces

All sounds good, but we've heard it all before.

I think Konami has cried wolf once too often and now I'm just not interested. If all of the above comes off, then great - it will go a long way towards me making a purchase, but not bothering to pre-order on the strength of more PR shite from Seabass and co.

(This goes for FIFA too! I'm sick of all the hype from football games that fail to deliver).

In 5 years time we'll prob be buying PES for the PS4 so we'll be right back to :square: 1, where having finally made the game we all wanted, they'll remove it all again to build on the new 'Next Gen' platform, then spend another 7 years trying to give us what we want.

Hopefully not the case but history has a funny way of repeating itself and konami have a funny habit of not listening to what the PES community want, even though they say they do year in year out.

I personally would like to see the world cup mode that featured in WE (think it was called international challenge or something where you got to play all the small countries that don't appear as selectable teams.

Dunno why that never took off in the euro versions of PES.

In theory this could be marvelous.
i don't want to sound over-optimistic, but i've read this and it sounds promising to me...

I agree that it may be brilliant.

Is this not just konami's version of the 'off the ball' feature that fifa brought in a few years back?

Any type of innovation is welcome at this stage though.

Also, I think CL is a welcome feature to the ML.

If CL is in I suppose that the UEFA cup will be in ML as well saying as konaami aquired that licence this year.

I'm guessing none of this will be included in the PS2 version? News was very sparse on the PS2 last year and i guess it will be moreso this time.
