on a more positive note, the nets are better even than pes 2017 with more movement added to them post ball hitting.

I never started a match without checking on both, but how could I?! I'm the freaking manager of that team! I have to check on daily performance, what's the plan against the next opponent, what are the possibilities in man marking, counter attacking... so much stuff to set up before I touch the ball for the first time. And I love that part as much as playing!! Because it's part of soccer!!
Alright, I don't pay entrance fee, sell beer and sausage in halftime to myself or something, but you get a picture! ;)

@Chuny how is all hope lost?! Not only in gaming, no in real life too, what's left when there isn't even hope?!

It's a penalty FFS. Responsiveness has nothing to do with it. It's an animation that hasn't been properly synced up with the actual motion of the player.

That's the sort of thing that gets fixed in the last few months before a game is released. Not saying the same will happen of the skating that's freaking you out elsewhere in the game - that's a lot harder to do, especially when they've rebuilt the animation engine - but use a bit of common sense here. WTF is an overresponsive penalty?

Still this issue can be fixed by some modifications of teams strategies. I know it may involve some work but with PES you can always play the type of games you want.
 
My god soooo much space, Tighter tactics needed or perhaps man marking.

Actually I think the limited camera options are another reason for this sense of pitch emptiness, Any one who played football at a decent level knows that you can't have this much space with defenders waiting for you at the six yard line all the time. But maybe a zoomed in option or an angled tv camera can overcome this.

Users will try to fix things for themselves but KONAMI need to consider these issues.

Iv'e seen skating for 3 years now and hiccup in animations in 2016 (will see if it gets fixed before release) when shooting and passing from not allowing the animations to finish it's cycle, it happens in more places than just penalties.... Ether way it looks like ......:PUKE:

something i just picked up on and maybe not alot have noticed, unlike in the past the clock now keeps on ticking during "dead ball" situations ie corners, free kicks, goal kicks and thrown ins

Why do we even bother with anything less than full manual?

Ball physics are very good as it seems that the ball is free unlike Fifa where everything is scripted from throw ins to clearences and loose balls.

The camera has made the spacing issue look better and perhaps tactics play a part

Shooting and fouls may need work but thats well documented

Off the ball movements can also be utilised and hopefully different styles of play depending on users can show. Not the usual cross or curled through ball that getes repetitive after two or three games which is Exactly what football should be all about.
 
that vid shows it could be a good game if it werent heavily assisted but much more rely on stats. ever since passing assistance levels came in the stats are in the trash.

Looking at his last post where he arbitrarily decided to put bits of my post in bold, with no real rhyme or reason whatsoever, I'm starting to think it's inappropriate to laugh at him. I think he should be very proud, posting all by himself.

the best video i ve seen so far is the liverpool vs athletico madrid 0-0 draw at camp nou on youtube, the pacing look absolutely spot on and the spacing on the field look very good, ball physics and player animations are very very good from what isaw.

Agree with that last sentence. As I said a few days ago, If it wasn't for manual passing I don't think I would have got anything out of PES 2017. PES needs to simplify down to PA or No PA (I genuinely have no idea what the difference is between PA1 and 2-4), it needs PA to not simply mean perfect passing accuracy, and it needs an equivalent to FIFA's Vision stat - where players with good vision are better at quickly spotting a pass as they turn on the ball and are presented with a new scenario. If they brought back the player-to-player teamwork stats that Shez (I think?) reminded us of recently, then that would also help show the difference between players who have a telepathic Yorke-Cole understanding, and those who aren't as familiar with each other so need to turn and face more before attempting the pass.

Also pass speed - I want certain players to have to operate with a shorter passing radius than others. It feels like a shame that every player can hit raking ground passes over 60 yards, I'd like to feel the benefit of having a Pogba who can switch the play or open up the play with vertical passing, versus players who are accurate but don't have the same range. I always remember Giovinco as a specific example from PES 2011 MLO, he had passing accuracy in the 90s but a pass speed under 70. You instantly knew that meant his job was to play devastating short through passes around the area, not to drop deeper in midfield and release the wide players.

My only concern with that would be how well a pass speed stat would gel with manual passing - you need to be able to rely on a 3/4 full passing bar resulting in a certain speed of pass, so you don't really want Pogba overhitting a pass that would have been accurately weighted by Herrera. I guess you would need pass speed to represent how well the pass accuracy is maintained as you use more power bar, so players with lower pass speed (a) don't really gain more pass speed above a certain level, and (b) are more likely to lose pass accuracy if they fully charge the bar. By contrast, Pogba or Kroos maintain the precision defined by their accuracy stat, without losing control at high speeds with the ball skewing wide or bouncing awkwardly off the surface for the recipient.
 
I think it would be extremely difficult now to return to just a No pass assistance/Pass assistance option. People will see it as a step backwards. In my opinion i agree they could use just PA0 and PA1. PA2 and 3 are too much assistance.
 
I play on Full Manual too and now I can't back to PA1. It doesn't make sense to get back :-/

Same difference, PA On/Off or PA0/1 - I don't really mind the wording as long as the effect is the same (and that PA 1 isn't immune to passing error).

The only concession I'd make around max PA is for users with disabilities, which is why the two button controls for FIFA were actually a nice idea for inclusiveness. But otherwise, I'd be inclined to just make PA 2-3 exactly the same as PA 1, and let people spend a year trying to work out if there's a difference.
