PES 2018 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

Pacpes too quick for me :BORED::D
Hah, sorry, mate

Wondering how this works??, i.e. the significance??? anything to do with camera angles or replay angles really excites me.... yes, I'm easily excited ATM hhahah

We'll finally be able to set the camera type before entering a match, since you know, we're lacking that option in the pre-match settings...

Oh ok, thanks. I normally do it in game, so I can actually see the angle that I like. And it then saves my played angle for rest of time I play pes, hence I didn't see the significance. I'm guessing/hoping online camera angles have more angles on offer...ie same as offline. Am also hoping we can save n view replays in the same view as in-game camera views...

People should try to make first touch passing. In Pes 2017 even when playing manual (0 bars assistance), they were too quick and precise. From 1 bar onwards they were amost gamebreaking.

Again, I'm still on the embargo I set for myself. No watching anything until the full game is out.
Having said that, I would like to remind you that sometimes when things I recorded off the screen whether it's with a cell phone camera or with a digital camera, everything looks and it's perceived very differently.

Sometimes it makes the game look faster. Sometimes it makes the game look almost lifelike (in terms of graphics).

I remember always feeling very disappointed watching this kind of content and then when I finally got to try it for myself, the colors were PALE and it wasn't nearly as responsive as I perceived it from watching that.

Don't get me wrong, I've been the #1 Fan of PES 2018 since it was announced. I still am. But these things do happen.

You just had to rain down on our nice little parade, didn't you? :BLEH:

Jokes aside, what you wrote is absolutely true. Year after year after year…PES fans should know better than to jump on the hype train. However, I must admit that what I have seen so far is extremely encouraging. It might be the hype talking, but I don't think the game as ever looked and moved better!

I don't think the FIFA mass market as it is now will ever give PES a shot. FIFA has become more than a game, it's now a cultural thing amongst the younger generations, they don't give two shits about gameplay, as long as they have the licenses, stadiums and are able to open packs etc they will never come over to PES, so the marketing ploy of using FIFA youtubers is a waste of time.
The youtubers have little interest in PES because they know their audience won't give it a look in.
Just look at the comments on Twitter under some of the player face pics (in this case Bateson87, who primarily does FIFA), imo the faces and body shapes look amazing, and these kids are ripping them to shreds.

For me, 2018 looks the most promising in a long time, hope to god they don't change it based on youtubers feedback.
yep, i agree it's going to take next generation of kids to move to PES because this generation of FIFA players wont leave there baby they know so well. Even if PES is better right now they will just complain to EA to give them more content.

For the manual fans:

They are recording a match on full manual settings it seems.

EDIT: some footage:

Looks a lot like PES 2014's sequence of movements. You cannot just hit the pass button with the ball under your feet. There is a sense of awareness of where the ball is, and what you CAN do with it. If they manage to execute the sequence of movements, without perceived input lag (which is really controlling the ball if we're honest), that is an incredibly exciting thing.

I had a huge problem wit 2017 that the keeper will stay on his line way too long. And from every gameplay video I see it seems like this is NOT FIXED. Here is an example: https://twitter.com/AlexAlguacil8/status/877513786684559360 no keeper in the world would stay on the line in that situation.

Even on the chip goal the keeper should have rushed out earlier.
but it might have to do with him being a defensive keeper.

LOL, I didn't mean to.
In fact, I'm as excited as you are and I haven't even watched any videos (other than the official Trailer).

No no, it doesnt surprise me at all.
In fact, I was the one who said that Konami might be the only company in the world capable of making an awesome game look terrible in a teaser.

Oh no please don't!
I don't want to give in. hahaha.

I decided that after watching the hysteria level around Evo-Web and how nobody was appreciating anything. I decided to just limit myself to reading. And it's worked so far. Now I'm convinced I will fall in love wit PES 2018 the minute I'm done downloading it on Steam. Everything will feel so brand new to me. Like in the PS1 and PS2 days when there was just no way to see the game before release. You could only read the new features on a magazine, but that was it. So everything feel entirely new from one year to the next.

So I don't usually get excited or hyped up for any game and I am really pessimisctic but one of my buddy that tried PES 2018(who is use to be a huge fan of PES 5/6 before he gave up and is extremely pessimistic as well) said he couldn't stop playing the game. The feeling of the game reminds him of PES 5/6 and a goal is really worth while. Each player plays very differently from each other so you gotta really get use to the player. Some player have bad first touch error. Some player can't pass first touch. Some player takes longer for the dribbling animation. Some players can misplace easy pass especially if they are being pressed depending on the passing stat. Taller player have more weight. Strong players can shield better. You can miss a shot completely. CPU can miss a shot completely. CPU can score some amazing long shot goal. He said in just 3 matches we played, Rakitic scored a beautiful long shot taking a long stride. You also need good defenders on the team that have good reaction, agility, strength and tackling otherwise you will be destroyed at your defense. You can't close down with any player otherwise you will put a huge hole in the defense. There is midfield battle on harder difficulty and teams like Barca have high defensive line and the defense and midfield is closely knit together. In other words, I am officially excited with this PES.

Sounds good! I presume he played with PA 1? In that case it sounds VERY promising.

Sometimes we can better evaluate the game on video (4K 60fps), because the playtesters can overflow the first emotions. We do not say that this happens to everyone. But we do not exclude this. In addition, we begin to look at the game a little differently after 2-3 months from the release date. Because the first strong emotional impression also leaves us. This is our opinion, and we are entitled to it. Because the game goes out not the first year.

We do not talk about the response and other things that need to be felt. We are talking about what we see on the screen. The same was seen before the playtesters, when they recorded this match.

I'm worried that in the beta we won't be able to play well enough cuz of online lag and restriction of just multiplayer. I hope there will at least be a training mode, to try out the new features and feel the game more.
