PES 2017 Playtest impressions

@PES_DNA @GariClark The players do often special moves like the backheel lob-shot in 2016 or r they special moment again?

@szkoki @GariClark I saw 1 back heel lob goal during PESDAY. And that was the only attempt I saw during my games.
.

and they played 7 hours? mehh...still too much i guess but oh well, they played top teams

Mate, if you use the lv 1 and try to kick the ball with X off the pitch, even if you push the button so hard and you direct the input off the pitch, the player will turn his body to pass the ball to the nearest team mate. It means that since pes 2016 the semi assisted level for passing has gone. You have no freedom, you can't choose any direction, because the ball will be passed ALWAYS to a team mate.

I was also very frustrated with level assistance in pes 2016. I wanted to make a substitution and just pass the ball off the pitch but at level 1 you cant do that as the ball would just be passed to nearest team mate. The passing was so assisted in pes 2016 that I was forced to learn manual passing which I am now used to playing with. I was also wondering about pass assistance in PES 2017 so it seems they messed it up again. Hopefully it's still an early build and they will address this later on (I doubt it though)

this confirms that the foul system is still broken basically. the biggest issue with PES in the last 2 years..

I don't understand why this isn't the #1 priority and why Konami don't talk about it in any of their released info.. this should be something that is mentioned but it's not..

this is worrying to me.. this should be a focal point talk about the game. I'm guessing this is just something to difficult for them to fix in the code

IMHO if someone is reviewing the game for hours and is not bringing up fouls, goalkeepers or shot variation then he's definitely paid off or just lying to us like last year.

yeah which is stupid because we will all see for ourselves once the demo comes out.. it's not like they can hide it from us for long

but for me.. I don't believe the foul system is going to be fixed because if it was Konami would be smart enough to include it as one of their major new features or talk it up...

everyone who has played PES the last few years knows the foul systems is broken.... and is the worst part about this series now

I'm starting to think this is obviously a big issue with the code and and almost impossible to resolve

All reviewers said the refs are very good and will commit more fouls, and are more aware of things. So no need to complain about it, it's obviously a fact, as to how good they are that's have to be seen when we get the demo, but for sure I would like to think it's fixed.

PES 2016 have 1-3 pass support lvl, and Konami default SET pass support on lvl 1, and thats for sure still much too much asisted. I understand that because Konami want keep high assisted pass lvl because play a lot of noobs, children etc .But I wander, why Konami don't want give as more freedom on pass lvl1, and sell PES 2017 with default pass level set on lvl 2 or 3
And problem Solved, everyone happy, noobs and we are happy, just more experienced players change pass support lvl from 3 to 1

Disagree, I think it's made somewhat on purpose to generate more flow of the game for the casual customer and for the online players, less fouls for more playing time for less button smash to cancel replays and so on.

It can't be that big of an issue, if you think logically that getting better with the engine/code as time flies by this would result in better ref. AI and therefore more fouls if from the get go the foul amount was an issue on the low side, but prior to 2014? they had more fouls in the games than the last few years, and even back then it somehow started to get less and less with the fouls as far as I remember with 2012 and 013 coming from a bad start with the engine in the 2008 game, same thing with the "new" engine snippets since 2014 (fox), year after year no fix and if its going in one direction its for the worse.

Right now I'm playing 2011 and with the jenkey gameplay there are considerately more fouls in that game, so how comes Konami can't do this by themselves?
You see this just can't be true what you are writing, it's impossible, they want you to think exactly like that, as a cheap excuse, to further continue their style of development towards casual and "flow" crowd, or maybe just lazy AI coding, Konami has money to up the team if they want so please no "small team" excuses too, it's all propaganda. If they can invest in all that casino business they can give some money for one of their last good gaming titles, no excuses please, this excuses HARM the overall gaming quality that you get on your end, we need to be sharp and not search for excuses for lazy Konami.

Another point that I can give to push my thesis, year for year the same talk about "1 pass bar too assisted" basically since introduction (copy fifa and get more fifa customers), and what they do about that feedback?
Nothing, some years even increase assistance, you see all this community driven game propaganda is crap, they don't care, and IF they do care, they care for the wrong crowd.

Konami could offer sliders just like FIFA. Add an arcade and a simulation preset and allow for saving multiple custom slider sets which can all be used online as well. Everybody happy.

Well I can turn this logic upside-down and write that how could they do that if they can't even execute simple things right like cursor change for example you know, I don't think they can do this, they suck at such things horribly and are lazy on top of that as well, no chance.

Offering more options means more scale-ability of the engine and proper implementation and execution, none of this Konami is good at.
They see issues and try to stick a chewing gum into the code, and then call it not a bug but a feature, and then instead of fixing it after feedback they turn and slide this knob here and there to reduce the damage and so on, it's pointless, this developer has nothing to do with the developers from PS2 Engine games, totally different ethos and work rate and what not.
