PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

The pre game live update will overwrite any modification done to a player, like if you've changed their kit, which is a bit crap. Also, players you modify are greyed out when in the tactics screen pre game, which is also a bit crap.

Two games this evening and a red card in both for the CPU!

In fact, i've played about 10 games in total since getting it now, and i've seen three red cards... probably more than a years worth of playing PES 2016.
 
That video looks like a different game to me. Granted i play Top Player and not Superstar, also I never play Exhibition, only a Cup or something (until ML is ready). But ive never seen the AI act like that at all.
I think this could be an example from earlier concerns regarding the effects of option file implication. I'm not saying that it is. Just saying it could be. I have not yet used an option file myself yet.
 
I use an option file and dont have that problem. Granted ive had teams setup to shut me down, recent example Dinamo Zagreb vs Inter, the former being the AI and basically happy to soak up pressure and pick holes if they could. But to me, I expect that, its Dinamo, at Inter, a point for them is a decent return and they got it 0-0.

Game before, I played at PSG and they were on the front foot, knocked in a pair early... had more chances as I opened up and in the end I lost 2-0. Both top player, both in the Champions League, 10 mins all manual.

Personally if anything the variable causing Madrid to be so poor was Exhibition... ill have to play Madrid myself in a competitive game and see whats up.
 
About the OF having negative effect on the game. I'm not sure either. This came up last year as well. I actually felt the same thing people are talking about myself last year but haven't an OF installed this year so can't comment on it just yet. I'm sure people are testing right now so soon we will put this to rest once and for all.
 
I wanna know why we can't edit players hairs anymore without it reseting a players face as a generic. Something anyways has to regress every year without fail I guess.
 
I have to say I do find the real touch is there but it's subtle compared to FIFA's first touch error and definitely needs a bit more tweaking.

Defenders and others with worse first touch stats (not sure what they're called on PES now) will take a heavy touch or take an extra 1 or 2 to get it fully under control. They never totally miscontrol which is why it's less noticeable.

That extra/heavy touch allow dispossession quicker in my experience to works fairly well.

What does need a huge amount of work is pass error. I play manual but all the error is from me. On FIFA 16 with sliders, the spin of the ball etc affects the weight/direction of first touch passes significantly and makes you think and take a touch. On PES there is nothing to discourage a first time pass from what i can tell.

Just send a max bar pass to someone of your teammates, which is close to you and don't press anything, he will trap the ball so perfectly and every single time ( it works also when he is with his back to the ball! ) , the ball will be sticked to him so unnatural, like everybody has Ronaldinho's traping skills. : )

First touch and trapping is absolutely important part of football. Now you always know that your high speed and uncomfortable pass will always be stopped perfectly by the AI player. The moment of thinking, that someone couldn't stop the incoming ball is totally missing, as so as the individual skills of traping. Especially when you try to send high speed pass on purpouse, for the defenders of the other team, to not be able to stop it..but they always do.

Actually , as a whole the passing and trapping skill individuality of the players is kinda missing in the Fox engine PES games ( a.k.a. latest PES games ).

At least, we have now a game with : CPU not always shoot in the bottom corner ; Normal foul system ; AI defenders, who not just wait for you to go trough the whole pitch and score ; And not these slow motion diving keepers. : )

I think , that the best solution ever, will be SLIDERS, at least like these in FIFA. : )

I played Juventus vs Borussia Dortund on Superstar exhibition mode, and then played them in Champs League group stages. I beat them 3-0 in the exhibition game, the 2 CL games went very different 0-0 away and managed to squeeze out a 1-0 away win late. The AI played much different in all 3 games.
 
I got a reply from Adam about the pitches he said it cant be fixed with patches

I think the reason behind it is like the ol PES 5 trick of removing the crowd maybe the lighting was causing framerate issues so to compensate the increased the pitches brightness? Just a guess but such a shame i loved daytime serie a matches on pes 2016 it looked glorious

That is bad news if it's true. I wondered if the quality of the pitch had been toned down to keep the smoothness of the game. You wouldn't have thought using a darker green would have had an effect though
 
My issue is I've imported all the German kits etc and can see them when I import them. But when I go to use them (with live update on or off) they ain't there. Some names are but kits and players aren't.

Could be. Although I have played against Madrid in this mode, and it was a competitive game where madrid played to some of there strengths. It could be based on the form arrow system consequently producing the randomness in behaviour.
 
Just played a game with Championship teams. It was amazing. It feels so different playing as lesser teams that it's a new challenge entirely and it's actually worthwhile. Think i'm going to start my ML as a Championship team. Will upload the epic finish to my Championship game shortly.
 
Small sample size, but just played Madrid as Leicester in the Champions League opening group game, lost 1-0, could have gone either way. Totally different to that video, so I do wonder if the AI is more up for it in actual games rather than exhibition?

You have done what I did when I first tried. I had only copied a small file to my USB drive. I installed it but all it did was change a few names. You should be transferring 615 ish files and may take a little while. Hope this helps you our
