PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

Is that actually true or not? The PS3 wasn't released in Europe or Australia until 6 months after PES 6 came out so it's quite easy to imagine that Konami didn't think they'd recoup enough money with two massive markets missing to warrant making a PS3 version. Fifa 07 also wasn't released on PS3 either making it an Xbox 360 exclusive as well.

You can still find the news if you use Google.

Next-gen versions of Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and EA's FIFA 07 will only release on Xbox 360, according to latest reports.

So says news on trade publication MCV's website, Microsoft has secured a 12-month exclusivity period for both soccer games, which apparently means neither title will release on PS3 or Wii. So, if that's indeed the case, Sony's and Nintendo's next-gen machines will simply have to wait on the sidelines for PES 7 and FIFA 08.

FIFA 07 on Xbox 360 is due to release in the autumn (September), PES 6 the following month.

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

That was the start of the rot. PES6 On Xbox 360 was a an absolute joke. I remember only 8 stadiums and they combined Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge into one stadium!

Remember it well (sadly):

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

Most have convinced themselves that technological wizadry and cosmetics is more important then the chemical reaction a game gives you in your brain and pes at its peak did that.

Fifa even back in the iss days always had the better tech, graphics, sales and marketing.

It was always about the game play with pes and however watered down that's become and broken the mechanics some of that philosophy has remained for those that have stayed the course.

Theres something good on the horizon this year, the low key marketing thus far, little or no news.

I don't think its going to be a fifa beater on a technical level, but for the purists I'm pretty confident we will have something representitive of a 21st century pes

I just want a fun and richly playable game again, something that captures what old pes did, with the details and a lot of the freedom pes on the ps3 and xbox360 introduced..it wasn't all bad.

They know what we want.

Actually, PES 6 on 360 had the same issues the PS2 version had. Intense framerate drops during goal kicks. It also had less content. Edit mode was a stripped down version.

It was, however, exactly the same in terms of gameplay, so it played incredibly well.

I played it online a couple of weeks ago, still thoroughly enjoyable.

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

I have great memories of PES6 (360) online. I played a couple of seasons on Pro Evo Network with that game. If it wasn't for an organised league like that I think I would have dropped PES6 quite quickly because it was so poor off the pitch.

Offline, PES 6 on the PS2 and 360 did/does not have the same gameplay. PS2 version played/plays a lot better.

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

Pes was always a better fit on the ps2..it was built around that systems ecentric architecture but was always marred with technical shortcomings that were always quickly forgotten..frame rate issues ect and even upto pes5 felt like a work in progress.

Let us not forget it was always lacking in a real defensive system its just at the time it was better then what ea were doing.

Ea raised the bar and brought back a lot of what iss was doing prior to pes, they just could never break down or to this day have failed to work out konamis secret sauce.

Get there player models more up to snuff, work out konamis alchemy and ultimetly do what theyve never be allowed to and that's make the simulation there more then capable of and pes would be buried.

They won't and if pes can re-establish its crown as the game of the purists with a stellar outing then its good for both fanbases.

Even fifas become stale its caught in its own pattern of success and cant truly break free from the casual fan base that made it.

Pes on the other hand has everything to prove, the journeyman has become tainted with a mediocre reputation and its make or break time this year.

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

I hated pes 6 on the 360. The pc and ps2 versions where a lot better and it was unenjoyable using mediocre team. Yeah using arsenal, madrid and surprise, surprise inter was good but using a team like bordeaux was a fucking joke.

The scripting was atrocious. At certain angles you would tap the shoot button to take a low shot but ooh no. Goes into row z, 'computer says no goal'!

When pes went multi platform the major problems started, no new engine to truly innovate from and the fear of change strapped into one big cluster bomb of issues.

Brings me back to my past point that pes was destined to fail before things got better.

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

Well everyone says how nice pes6 was, but in the end, it is over 8 years ago, so history.
For me ISS 1 & ISS 2 were the funniest ones, but in the end it is 2014, we are expecting to get a complex game, and yes, there will be bugs!
Buf if the bugs are patched quick, it could be a nice game, in PES14 the bugs were patched every 2-4 months with bringing new bugs. That ruined the game.
Try shollym standalone patch 2014(pes6) and you will see that it's not yet history..

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

This is the day we've been waiting for.
Let's hope it's been worth and we don't see a trailer of a trailer again.

Re: PES 2015 Discussion Thread

Stadium editor will be a big deal this year. Lack of stadiums last year, really hampered PES2014 . If it's a very good editor, it will add so much longevity.

Well, all in all I'm looking forward to the entire editing section.

I said several times during the last years that I would have liked to have a game à la rFactor but again I see why it cannot be done, at least for now.
What they could do, however, is to make it more user-friendly and, if possible, more complete.

Let's take kits for example: instead of letting us import only the front part of a kit, let us import a 2048x2048 image with the same layout as a licensed kit.
This maybe won't render things perfect (numbers and fonts would still be the default ones, we wouldn't be able to use reflection maps) but at least we'll have real kits with them not breaking any copyright and with us not having to struggle with the data files.
Same goes for players: If they managed to give us the chance to load specific faces/hair for created/edited players, they'd be way more realistic than now. Of course maybe they won't have the PES ID but they can maybe add some "traits" like "cutting in" or "always lurking near the offside line" to help this.

Of course, probably it would be asking too much.
