But then they'll come here crying about "how piracy killed PES for PC" next year around. This is probably the thing they are the best at.

It's like a dog biting its own tail really.
The more they mistreat PC people, tle less PC people are willing to give them money. The less money they receive from PC sales, the worse they treat the PC version the following year.

I would, if I liked the game. But how can I like it if everyone I know plays FIFA and there's no trace of a demo on the horizon?

no problem. so the input lag made it seem like the passing was much faster but it actually was the game trying to catch up. good to know that at least!

there doesn't seem to be an AMD equivalent for Vsync, anyone playing on AMD cards can feedback on input lag?

If your running SweetFX as well turn off smaa in the SweetFX settings file(change 1 to a 0) as they will probably conflict(if your even bothered about forcing smaa that is).

PES feels better now to me.

The awareness and animation issues again could be down to the pc settings your using, do you have v-sync or or framerate lock?

I was having big awareness issues till i sorted the v-sync out. It used to be insanely bad on PES 2013 till i put v-sync on, it's less noticeable in 2014 and 2015 but it makes a difference.

Even if you don't like the game, it should feel absolutely nothing like pes 2014.

Interesting points about V-sync affecting the gameplay. I will try to experiment later on, although I see no real issues.


Again, I just don't understand everyone talking "it's like PES 2014". By no means it's perfect, it's really just okay PES game, but I feel it's nothing like 2014. Shooting might be a tad crazy and I have some serious problems playing weaker teams (I just get beaten repeatedly ), but overall I really, really like the game.

Thanks man want to clear that up. not sure what some people going on about different gameplay. from what i have seen from Youtube videos it looks the same.

I've seen enough videos of video game magazine editors saying the gameplay is different on PC (after playing them side by side of course, not "I watched it on YouTube!!!"), and tbh online MP on PC feels like that 2013/2014 garbage reborn. The delay is real. The animations are the same crap from PES 20xx, the same extra steps before shooting, and so on.

SP is better, but it doesn't quite seem to be the PS4 gameplay.


For the record EA have a record of lying about PC FIFA gameplay being the same as consoles when it never has been on the last two engines. Konami have a record of lying about just about everything as well. They're obviously lying here when they say only the gfx details are different. It truly is a "hybrid" engine, i.e. prettied up PES 2014, like FIFA 11 on PC was actually FIFA 10.5 from consoles.


Time will tell how much is salvageable on the PC via Vsync/Buffering plus the usual EXE modding. Or even Konami patching it successfully, lololol.

Hey guys new to the forum. Been trying all different settings to minimize the input lag. At first I thought the game was shit was about to give up playing, the game looked smooth 60fps but passing and reactions was way to slow. then I switched tripple buffer as someone mentioned earlier and seemed to solve the issue for the input lag felt way way better now enjoying the game but cannot get rid of the micro stutter without the input lag comming back. Using latest nvidia drivers, 970gtx, 3930k. Any one know if earlier drivers work better or have any suggestions.

Zero input lag on my rather modest Core 2 Quad Q8300, 8GB DDR II RAM, GTX 750 Ti, except for some frame rate dip; as expected for an old rig. Maybe you should try maintaining your PC once in a while before blaming the game makers.

We need to fix LOD. In replays sometimes in mid range view cant see turf grass only green color asphalt. Also that switching faces from bad quality to better in replay looks so bad. This is the main problem with this game.

Downloaded the demo and played a game...

It's a refined PES 2014. Graphics are okay, ball physics are very good, player animations are typical PES, and the lack of any opening cut scene isn't even noticeable, in fact there's a couple of nice cut scenes of the stadium and crowd, who needs more than that.

A decent game it seems, may or may not purchase it, don't know yet. But the complaining in this forum about what amounts to nothing at all... holy moly people.

EDIT as I play and notice stuff: CPU corners and player movement in the box is MANY times more realistic and alive than in FIFA, wow. PES in that regard makes FIFA look like a child's toy version in comparison in some respects.

Lighting, shadows, subtle player movement like arms and such... just so much better than FIFA. People here complain about the graphics, like a green carpet pitch. But I'll take these life-like coloring and lighting graphics in PES over cartoon-colored FIFA any day.

Many of the animations are close to life-like. Compare the human-looking CPU defend positioning animations in PES to the comical monkey-hunch positioning of FIFA's defenders. Again, this game makes FIFA look like a laughable child's toy in some ascetic areas of the game.

Think I have very similar impressions to Angus. Downloaded demo, played 2 matches:
- Graphics are fine. Not amazing, certainly not FIFA but you have to hold your hands up - FIFA is absolutely phenomenal in that regard.

- Individuality is definitely apparent. Ronaldo/Bale are monsters, but hold the ball too long with Kroos and you open a world of hurt. Obviously need more time/variety of players to confirm this, but you do get the 'give it to the really good guy' feeling from old PES days

- Movement is so much better than FIFA. I was charging about with Benzema trying to get the ball back, and 3 passes in a triangle later I'd been taken out of the game and they were past me with options in the midfield.

- Nice to see patient buildup from the CPU (twas Atleti) but it was pretty measured. At 0-0 felt more like they were holding on for a draw, but this was in the 30th minute. Would get annoying after a while I fear.

Overall I'm annoyed we don't get the presentation/graphics we deserve, but the game is smooth to play and feels very different from FIFA. I'll wait til post Xmas probably, pick it up on sale and reap the rewards of all the lovely modders' hard work.

Adding to the both of you, I have very similar impressions. The PES 5/6 feel and tension is back! It feels o so good. I don't know why people say the gameplay is bad. I don't feel any input lag at all, granted i enabled vsync and triple buffering via radeonpro, I didn't test it without it in the three matches I played. The keepers are so much more improved from PES 2014, no annoying bugs when the ball is too close to the keeper, the AI has more variety as well, the player off the ball movement is fantastic! The dribbling mechanism is so much better than Fifa 15 imo. I am a happy man

I am genuinely excited, I'm going to play more of the demo to see if anything annoying pops up lol! otherwise, I will definitely buying it on steam tomorrow!

Downloaded the demo.

Firstly where are the setting to this game playing in default at the moment in a small window of my screen.

PROS

Gameplay very good on first impressions. Player models very nice.

CONS

Sound is awful but that maybe because it is the demo.

Crowd animations I've seen better 10 years ago on my old amstrad cpc

So easy to score. But maybe I was on a very easy level.
