How things have changed? Nowadays you risk yourself from smarmy remarks and endless sarcasms for defending PES on a pro-PES site.

Anyway you won't find overwhelmingly positive FIFA 14 impression on any other place than this forum and WENB. Even those old-timers on PESFAN conclude both CG and NG bear heavy resemblance with each other with the major exception being the graphics. Given enough time, they already saw and went through the same BS.

Before anybody question the credibility of PESFAN opinion, if you didn't know the site has turn into the biggest and loyal FIFA community in recent years mainly for people above 30. They aren't your typical hardcore fanboy retards.

I don't think you know what "fundamentally broken" means. Broken code gives you an error message and you won't be able to actually play the game. So, if you look at the bright side, you actually learned something new today.

I said it provides zero satisfaction because unless you are very new to the game, it's stupidly easy to beat the GK with chip shots. It's not just my opinion, it's a fact that is the way the game is.

No one in their right mind can say winning the Champions League on PES 2014 is satisfying. The only way is if you refuse to make chip shots, but its completely stupid having to play a certain way to accommodate a broken game.

The GK's positioning is like Sunday league goal keepers. They stand off their line like wally's so you can chip the ball into the net at a highly consistent rate. Have you not seen this?

I don't tweak the AI formations at all. I play with the default formation, but once the ball gets in or around the penalty box then the GK is easy to chip.

Maybe Professional is still harder than Superstar on 1.06

Superstar was very easy because of the command errors ingame especially on 1.04 and also 1.00 and 1.01

1.06 its much better though but maybe professional is still better. I'm not sure since i went back to PES 2013

i have random crash on game
stop working and go back to desktop
why this happened? because i played nice on win 8 without any problem and crash

That said, it is this exploit that has ruined online this year and I wish they'd fix it.

I think it is. To be honest I've thought Professional is better on all the latest releases. Top Player and above makes things more frantic but it also means that AI defense is out of position a lot more. I don't particularly like playing against 11 rabies-like players. The only thing that's lacking is the froth.

I score more goals on the two highest difficulty levels but I also concede more. Regardless of difficulty I play on, I always struggle against the likes of Hull, winning or losing narrowly, but then win comfortably against teams like Manchester City and Barcelona. That's probably the most annoying part of the game... the "wrong" teams are the challenging ones.

I know, but it's totally ridiculous Konami expecting gamers to have to play in a certain way to make the game challenging. The whole point of football is to exploit the oppositions weaknesses and do everything which is within the rules of the game to score.

It's not only the GK's, but the CPU are rubbish offensively also. Yesterday, I played Barcalona in the Champions League on Superstar. Their attacks consisted of tame, ineffective crossing and small punts foward. Really, PES 2014 has the hallmarks of an incomplete beta game.

Your right, the lame GK's effect human vs human matches also. The space they leave behind them makes them way too easy to chip. Most people online don't refuse to use the GK exploit, but then again I don't expect them to either. It's not their fault the game was released in this way.

i thought it was jst me, i can feel the limitations too i dnt want to forsake my dpad , been playing that way since pes 3

I switched to stick, played it like that for about 2 weeks but was frustrated and went back to D-pad.

But felt the limitation way too much and didn´t really enjoy playing it.

Then again switched to stick forcing myself and now I pretty got used to it.

I need a lot of practice but I enjoy it a lot more like that.

They have fixed GK throw in patch 1.04 or the recent 1.06, not sure which one. No longer the GK throw the ball directly to the opponent in front of them. They also seems to be more intelligent whether to throw it along the ground or in the air depends on the power bar and number of bodies.

The patch did what I expected, served as minor fixes. But not gonna lie i'm hoping for more. At least ramp up the difficulty, artificially or not I don't care.

+1, Purchased Fifa 2014 current gen for PC, own PES 2014 on PC and yesterday played Fifa 2014 NG for two straight hours on PS4 with a friend, happy to report I am still a happy PES fan!!! Way more enjoyment!!

But of course PES 2014 needs AI tweaking, hoping that Konami might impress us with a new gameplay patch in the upcoming weeks.

Same here. I played FIFA on NG a few days ago and it`s far away from the enjoyment I get when playing PES 2014.
If you handled getting into the completely new feeling of PES (and mastered the new controls plus play with less support-settings), you won`t miss that experience any more. When playing with friends, it`s definitely the best soccer game ever. My opinion.

Nope I have not seen this constant chipping of keepers. I play on Top Player most of the time and why is this so? Because I HARDLY find space in the box to chip the keeper with aplomb. Maybe because I suck? Maybe that is true. Does EVERY GAME has some form of Exploit/Hack? Well guess what yes most of the time...and u know what in all my years of playing PES...chipping keepers has always been one of the easiest thing to do....

I have stated before that keepers are one of the biggest things that needs to be fixed. And it is not the easy to chip keepers that I find most annoying! its actually when keepers palm the ball into their own net! But how often does it happen? I don't have the stats for that but I decided not to count and just vent my anger by bullying the AI. at least there is some fun in that!

About not being able to play in a certain way because it is exploiting the AI. Read above about every other game...its called AI and theres also another thing, Perspective. Checkout BF4 and RTW2 forums...way more game crippling bugs over there I assure you...yet some people still enjoy those games in their own ways. Sorry, but you can't normally upgrade your laptop's gpu and cpu . Besides its an old laptop and only solution is to buy new one or build a pc.

You can download fifa 14 demo from origin and see if it'll be capable to run it. Pes 2014 might work also on medium or low settings and not too high resolution.

You won't upgrade to proper cpu and gpu on your laptop for sure.
Some laptop lets you upgrading like some of alienware models, but that's rare occasion.

I dunno how well it will run pes/fifa, just download fifa 14 demo and see how it goes.

Ok thanks, game-debate says that pes should run at medium-high settings, whereas it says fifa will run at medium-high settings. I will download pes tonight and see how it goes.

I couldn't agree more. If you still own PES5 or WE9LE then my latest option file may be the fix you need.

the adjustments make it slower so you take tie to break teams down, so each game is a chess match with a good level of technique.

The reasons why pes 2013 goes far beyond this is the variety of matches which are derived from the new tactics system, the ball physics and individuality is much more advanced so depending on your individuals, you need to think like a manager and create strategies to suit your team. WE9LE is old fashioned in the sense if you play with a team like Australia or the USA, you are always looking to try play good football with them. passing football. The 'old pes feeling'

In pes 2013, you realize passing with them on 1bar is not going to get you anywhere because they like in real life have few gifted passers so you look to use strength and height upfront to your advantage and work on defensive tactics and either wing play or long balls to win.

It does frustrate me at times people don't see this new concept brought in by konami, 'Variety realism' pes 2010 tried it worked to an extent, pes 2011 was the first game which did this well because of the tactics system. pes did it well in the 1.06 patch and pes 2013 did it all year.

This is the 'new' pes feeling. Some matches are chess-matches, highly tactical, some are open, some are cagey, some are fierce competitive battles with lots of tackles, some are cat and mouse, variety!

Could be your video card drivers, mine doesn't lag much if at all. Despite being a beta/unfinished. 1.06 gameplay on top player is good and enjoyable. sadly there is a noticeable reduction or responsiveness compared to training mode gameplay still.
