PC PES 2014 discussion thread

There is something strange. I realized that every player has the same speed. I checked it at training and no metter if we play Terry , Vidic Skrtel or Messi , Nani, Valencia. Anyone takes distance from box to box in 12 secound .I have tried this many times with a stopwatch in my hand and the result is the same :( So now doesnt matter you choose Xavi or Messi to your squad. Another joke from Konami .
I dont mind if there is catchup bug but this one is gamebreaker. This is way how they wanted to balance attack and deffence ? :(

I tested that and its true. I used Roberto Carlos, A brazilian defender and a keeper in training mode and they all had the same time. Cheap trick from Konami. I wonder if it is the same in game though. Anyone could test it?

Just read on Bhatti's Twitter about the Japan national team licence. Apparently it's missing because it's World Cup year and EA have the licence. Never happened before though has it?

After quite a lot of exhibition matches,ML, with teams from real madrid to swansea.

The idea of giving "realistic" speed difference of player will just ruin the game.

Konami wants you to combine the advantage pace, position of your player which is step ahead from a defender, body contact, etc.

The acceleration of players stands out more then their sprint speed. Use it properly.

This is my quick review in Metacritic.

To say I am dissapointed is an understatement.

Wow. I have been a PES fan for as long as I remember, back to the ISS days on SNES.

Konami has made mistakes on many of its games, and few are completely perfect. But there was always the magic there. A new game was always a joy to play, even in Free Practice mode.

So the dissapointment could not be greater. Especially after all the promises, the new engine, the heart feature, etc. Really Konami?

The magis is gone. PES has gone the FIFA route, but is years behind their formula. Sure the animations are better than ever, but it means the game is sluggish, waiting for the animation to run before a change in direction, shot, pass, etc. Very different to the crisp, immediate response of the ISS and PES games of the past. So, so far, from the great games like PES5/6.

The new engine novelty wears off very quickly, as it is a prettier game but by no means jaw dropping. Only a slight improvement. And football games are about gameplay, who cares about facial hair and more accurate lighting, when shooting feels unreal and manouvering in the penalty box is so sluggish.

Man covering is terrible. I cannot get my team to pressure or hold the formation I desire.
Konami have tried to make defending possible by implementing some ridiculous turbo gimmick. Your player slowly accelerates and then decelerates. Very very unrealistic. There is no player explosion, you have to wait for the players to slowly accelerate. Also running a 20m sprint is now impossible, as your player will decelerate and be caught by any defender like Vidic, etc.
It is a complete gimick and unlike real football.

In the end, this game is like a blow to the stomach. We knew Konami had problems with PES and going back to a new engine, with all their promises, would bring back the glory days.

Now, PES is even further away from the original formula. Looking without personality. It is a bland FIFA experience, sluggish, gimicky, licenseless.

PES 2013 is a much, much, better game.

I think you need to test this in a real game (2 player mode of course), as after going through the training drills on this version, I suspected that stats weren't making much difference as the different players I controlled felt the same (probably in order to ensure picking the wrong favourite team didn't make a training drill impossible to complete).

I noticed far greater individualism when I played in a match for the first time after the training.

With the ball there's definitely a different in the pace of players (noticed greatly when you're using crappy Master League defaults and youths!). However, since I very rarely sprint without the ball, I haven't noticed if there is a difference for this in a proper match.

At the start of a ranked match, it sometimes says 'couldn't connect to opponent' (before you even see who you are meant to be playing). It then counts that as a 'disconnection' either for or against.

Is there ANY way to prevent this at all?

This has resulted in my courtesy rating being downgraded to a B - are Konami likely to wipe this once everything is fixed?

Well , I was testing this about 3o times . At first i didnt want to believe but this issue unfortunately is there. Every player will reach opossite end in 12 secound , no metter he has 70 or 90 speed. That's mean there is no difference in speed and acc :( If there is visible difference with acc player X with higher acc should reach opossite end faster but ...

i wish someone will make video

How can a month-only tournament affect the licenses for a whole year?

In 2010 Japan was licensed in both PES and FIFA WC.
In 2006 Japan was licensed in both PES and FIFA WC.

BTW, Japan its still licensed in WE 2014, isn't it? If true, Konami listened our endless requests of J.League and said "Guess what? No Japan at all. Hahaha!"

Yes, its sad but true !! every player has same sprint speed !!!!! player id is really poor this year.

Has anybody else noticed that there is absolutely no fouls in the game? I never get free kicks , the opposite team never slide tackles or commits fouls. Its frustrating seeing every game 0 fouls by the AI team. Is there some sort of fix for that , am I doing something wrong?

Yeah, what about some licensed NTs in PES 2014, aren't they also going to WC ?

Does anyone know (when its out on steam) the option files and tweaks will still work? did anyone try this with pes 2013 on steam?

The shot power is a joke. AI shoots like a 5 year old girl.

Of course Konami did this coz their keepers are actually a MAJOR bug.

If any of you played kick off 2 for the amiga, It had the same lob bug shown above.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO poor game:FAIL:

The shooting power isn't a problem. You can't expect Ronaldo rocket shots while off balanced and on target. Thats just a silly expectation. Their keepers are a lot better in this version of the game than in the previous what 4-5 games?

I did the exact same test in PES 2013, among other similar tests, and arrived to the same conclusion.

this thing start to happened at the time they start to give name for game feature , "player ID" "team ID" "first time control"

why they just can't go back and see how the games turn out to be when they don't fallow trends and just try to make a very fun simulation.
