How come nobody here is mentioning the Catch Up Bug !???

Its freaking insane... and to make matters worse it happens on both sides !!!

Cristiano Ronaldo flew past my busquets ( who was turned around ), and busquets turned around and in 0.1 seconds was at Ronaldo speed, then caught up to him with some super turbo speed. Its impossible to go on break situations and 1 on 1's with the keeper unless ur close to goal at all, no matter how fast or slow someone is.

Same issue mate and i had to do the same thing. Annoying. I've read that the patch doesn't work on the digital download version, which is bizarre.

Just when you think they're onto a winner, they manage to do something else which destroys your fun haha.

I can easily beat defenders in one-on-ones and break away from them.

So no catch up bug for me. Never appeared to me or it isn't as annoying as it was in PES 2012/2013. ;)

How can anyone be enjoying it with the god awful response times? I've just played a AFC match and with the lesser quality players, it's just totally painful.

is anybody else experiencing occasional slowdows out of no where on both xp and win 7 this is taking the fun out of the game

For anyone who has trouble heading or first-timing the ball: try to tap the shoot button twice in stead of once. Works perfectly for me: I do not have to adjust my timing, or have to think about releasing the button before the ball arrives: tap tap and it's in (or saved, or over the bar).

Great game, but I do experience the occassional slow downs mentioned above. Strange, because most of the time the game runs very smoothly.

I must admit that after applying 1.01 patch (also @_anderson change) the responsiveness is improved a lot. Now I could play a lot of games without immediate irritation and I take my words now back, it's SO real and SO satisfying. It looks like it's the root cause of my irritation and saying previously worst PES experience ever... Pace with default 0 speed is just perfect.

I also completed performance training to find out new controls, I advise anyone to do that before you jump into the game and get irritated that players are bouncing of each other etc.

However, the player switching and responsiveness while doing some dribbling tricks is still too slow. Just fix those two little things and it will be the best footie ever, apart from the fact that now community has to add 'a real' content... and at the same time Konami was blaming community for hacking demo version... It's not fair. They should collaborate with community and make their life easier to add custom content into the game in this scenario where they focus only on gameplay coding. It shouldn't be the other way around.

I'm still also having issues with headers... I just can't shoot with a head whenever I'm sending the high ball into the penalty area... It looks like they X button does not work, we should use triangle (the one for through balls), am I right ? but even then, I tried using triangle and it's still so hard because players are simply not jumping inside of penalty area. I guess I'm doing sth wrong, am I right?

Try +1 speed. Maybe that helps.

I don't advise to go with +1speed to solve responsiveness, it makes the pace so unreal while on 0 it is just perfect. Using +1 seems like every player is all the time sprinting, it's just unreal and annoying. It is just my taste so don't get me wrong if you enjoy +1 then play with it ;)

Tried it mate, it helped ever so slightly, but the game felt a bit too fast.

Maybe the responsiveness is less pronounced with the bigger teams, but to me part of the fun of PES has always been with playing with the smaller, lesser known teams and uncovering a gem of a player.

It just feels clumsy. It's going to feel ace if it's fixed, but for now, the responsiveness, or lack of it, is making me not play. And that's sad because i'm desperate to enjoy it.

You're using the PC version? If so, try some of the suggestions presented in this thread that may help with responsiveness. Maybe try _anderson's crowd removal see if that helps. I know it's not optimal but at least you'd know where the issue lies and for possible future fixes etc.

I forgot to add one other thing that has been already mentioned, namely controlled shot. Every shot goes into the air above the bar, even if I use a little power, it's useless. Has anybody find a clue for this or it's already confirmed as a bug?

Yeah i'm on the pc. I'll give it a whirl. Do you think it's something to do with my own PC' performance, or do you think it's most likely to be a game flaw that will get ironed out in a future patch?

The game is poorly optimized. Hope they will address the issue in next patch (to remind you it is very possible to do. Slightly Mad Studios optimized Shift 2 with their patch, adding support for multi-core processors, which for some reason was not there from the start!).

Wishful thinking in terms of KONAMI though :(. I am having only occasional hiccups when on replays. Nothing drastic.

And responsiveness takes time getting used to. Mistiming many tackles is annoying though :(.

Tbh though I've absolutely no idea re: PC version. Just reading comments here it's obvious people are having mixed thoughts. Some have no issues while others with different issues. There are some suggested fixes for input lag as well. Might be your specs though. If you post your specs here someone might be able to help.

Check this for instance.

I'm a long time PES player and in terms of out of the box satisfaction this is probably the worst one I've ever played. There's a growing list of thing I want to complain about in this game but I'll spare you. But why it always 2 steps forwards 5 steps back with this fucking game?

Anyway. Why is this that my FPS counter shows a constant 60fps yet hardly anything in game seems to be happening at 60fps? Even the menus don't seem to be moving smoothly. What happened to the vsync and frame skipping options in settings.exe? I'm sure this is the cause of the responsiveness probelem. Online it's absolutely unplayable.

Because its poorly optimised, they need to patch it asap.

Probably placebo but 1.1 seems more responsive. I took klashman advice and set tactics to more defensive and having more fun. Game is really good at simulating football. Advanced thru ball is tough not sure about it... I don't have issues with headers or one touches at all. Will have mate over tonight for some 2 v CPU ML...

I love the online mode in this game. I haven't had so much fun playing a sports game online in a long time. I can see what people mean about it being assisted on even 1 bar, but the slower-pace of the game naturally stops it from being a pass-fest towards the goal which has been the blight of both PES and Fifa over the years for me. I have few games which go above a few goals (3-0 being the highest score thus far). Advanced through balls seem broken though, often you'll play one through and the recipient of the pass will kick the ball again without you pressing anything.

I say this because optimisation isn't something you do post-release but rather something you do pre-release. Now, mixing settings up in the game's engine might fuck up something that may become a problem of its own so I guess you guys and myself will have to stick to waiting and hoping something can be done.
