PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I bought the game as a download from Game Dragons today. It works, but there are no online options in the menu. I've got the latest patch, which I understand makes these modes available. Also, there's no way to download the data pack - it says there are no versions available.

Anyone else having problems getting online using a downloaded version of the game?

Check your email they sent me a link to the new patch that works online.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

You have made Your point around here. Any further posts like that will not serve any practical purpose in these threads, OK.
This is a discussion thread, You are just shouting at the wall.

Don't I know it.

Fine; no more will be said about this from me.

And there's no 'weird wind up agenda' either, I was said that simply because the game seems to have a ton of issues especially on PC. But as I said, I'm done if you don't want any more such discussion. Appreciate the warning though, unlike a certain other forum.

So just as EA finally start to cotton on to first touch being a big part of football, Konami decide it doesn't matter anymore and that every player must take a touch to control the ball, so no more first time shots or headers without controlling the ball first.

PES used to get better with each match, this gets worse.

I'm giving up until Yair and/or Jenkey can fix this mess (which I'm confident they will).

I hit balls first time all the time. IDK what you are talking about.

hmm very weird tbh. Hitting things "first time" isn't a pb at all.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I know I'm not the only one experiencing players wanting to take a touch before shooting/heading, seen it quite a bit in the console section.

Also, I can't be the only one who is always seeing the CPU always choosing to play the long ball up to the striker to chest it down? Every single team has employed this tactic, regardless of which team I play. Feels like groundhog day with every match being the same:

- CPU long ball to the striker, who chests it down
- CPU otherwise hits a long through-ball over the top
- CPU hardly ever plays good football to work into the box
- Defensive line is ALWAYS high, regardless of which team I choose and their default setting.

I should mention that I've played PES for years so I do know how PES plays and it's not FIFA etc etc.

NobleKnight, you are a fine example of nominative determinism.

Thanks sir.I've been emailing them since yesterday and their support "Gaming Dragons" has been top class. They replied to all the emails I sent.I wasn't too sure about them at first but it's a good site.

Just happened to me inside the box. Whipped in a ball, deflected off the keeper and the player took TWO touches before he even attempted to shoot. The first touch was fine due to the pace of the ball (and his first touch made himself a bit of space), but after that there was zero reason for him not to shoot.

i honestly and not having those first touch issues. I hit the button before it gets to my player and it works. Will look at the long ball stuff. I can say that this game is growing on me with each match. The CPU AI is not nearly as fuckign awfull as 2013...

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

More and more nails seem to be hammering into 'The King's' coffin as we speak - at least on PC.

Really ?

I am enjoying the game as it is greatly. Graphics are sharp, no stutter in game or drops in framerates during replays. Just a tad slow in player switching and the off bizarre AI action.

It depends on the hardware, controller and configurations used. As James has said modders will rectify problems (Konami does need to address these as current PC's and the next generation of Intel CPU's will kick consoles into touch again) and the game itself is a great base for the next iteration when the wrinkles can be straightened out.

There are a couple of individuals on WENB with nothing but unending paeans of misery regarding the game and some of your writing is akin to it.

Plenty of us are enjoying it. It isn't perfect and some of the content left out is no doubt due to it's very long gestation and development taking longer than they Konami expected.

But I really like what they are trying to acheive.

By the way could the moderators sticky a post on how to use SweetFx for those who will be using it for the first time. Might save repeated posts about this question.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm sure people are jumping into this game online straight away. Only 1 or 2 people I've met online seem to know what they're doing. Not that I'm complaining :P

Now I'm certain it sets the support settings as whatever the host has. When I play manual, other players put the ball all over the pitch and when I use a bar of assisted, they're much better at passing.

Nope. It happens every time. You need to stop trying to take a touch yourself. Not that it rectifies the issue when you don't actually want to take a touch but it often stops issues with taking too many touches in good positions. I personally wonder if the game has been set-up deliberately this way to stop it being too fast/instantaneous.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

i believe there's a good game there but the game feels unfinished beta version ,currently 5 points are killing the game for me
1-input lag
some testers and reviewer said it's there but less than pes 2010 but i think it's just on bar with it, at least in pes 2010 it was limited to player movements , passing shooting but in pes 2014 every thing is lagging even player switching is lagging and this delayed responsiveness in almost every command including passing , shooting , dribbling , movement makes the game unplayable for me , it's notceable to the level that if u want to make 1st time shot or one touch pass then u have to press the button before u teammate pass the ball to ur player

2-goalkeeper
horrible AI in one on one andclose situations together with bad positioning , i rememebr my player was one on one with the cpu keeper and it runs out standing in funny position away from the goal angle

3-player awareness
2 cpu defenders were standing against my player that sun in between them while they were watching him ,so not only players are not well aware of the ball but also they are not well aware of each other on the pitch

4-shooting
random ,very weak , not rewarding ,may be they made it like that to cover the bad keeper AI

5-inconsistent , delayed player switching :
mentioned with the delayed responsiveness ponit

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Shooting is very rewarding on manual. Everything else, agree. Keepers are starting to show their limits.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

One thing I'm not liking the look of is all the guys with Core i5 or higher systems saying that the game isn't running well. If it's running badly on those systems, how's mine going to cope?

My System Specs:
Intel i7 @ 2.80 GHz. 4GB DDR3, OCZ REAPER. ATI RADEON XFX 6870 HD. Windows 7 x64. Everything runs perfectly. Locked at 60fps. Smooth. Sharp.

More and more nails seem to be hammering into 'The King's' coffin as we speak - at least on PC.

Not sure what you're talking about. I have the game both on PS3 and on PC. I can't play it on PS3 anymore. The PC version (with SweetFX on) is like a new game. The gameplay is great, really hard (at least for me on Top Player) and the graphics are stunning.

I'm going to sell the PS3 version (I haven't redeem the code yet) because there's now way I can play that one after trying the luxury the PC version is.

Check my own screenshots (see in full resolution to appreciate them better).

Of course, THE GAME IS NOT PERFECT. No game is. There's room for improvement. But it's pretty damn good right now. I've played FIFA 14 too, and I think PES 2014 ON PC is so superior.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Argh. So Gaming Dragons is working fine for me in terms of processing (with PayPal) but the download had a hiccup, and started again! Argh. 3 more hours...

I love your SweetFX settings. :WORSHIP: The blue tint reminds me a bit of La Liga matches. I believe they use/used to use a blue filter, but I could be making that up.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

OK. I might have found out what causes havoc in PC version.

Have legit copy, so could check.

The game on original 1.01 patch + DLC 1.0 plays HEAPS better than on RELOADED exe.

RELOADED group removed a lot from exe. The weight difference between both versions of exe is substantial. Original patched 1.01 game exe = 40k KB, RELOADED 30k KB.

10MB of data flew out of the window. Dunno if it's all SecuRom related, but the difference between legal =/= cracked exe is huge. If you're willing to verify this, please do so.

I am reverting to original 1.01. Can leave without logos and such. I won't sacrifice gameplay for them...

Or maybe I am just paranoid... :P

True!!! That's why I did it. Really worked so hard on these settings (specially to make them look good both day and night). That's exactly what I wanted to achieve. The Champions League & La Liga night matches feeling.
I talked about that here btw: http://forums.evo-web.co.uk/showpost.php?p=2782412&postcount=1296

Does that mean that people complaining about shit gameplay are playing a pirated version?

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

FDB how to you add sweetfx to pes?

Download it from Guru3D, extract the files to Konami/PES 2014 root folder. Simple as that. This is what my PES folder looks like with the SweetFX files:

That might be the case.

I learned the hard way with some other games that pirated copies "might" be wrongly cracked and some of gameplay becomes messed up (like textures clipping, AI being glitched, etc.)

Wondered why there are crack-fixes around? :)

Right on. It looks like you've achieved just that as I immediately made the connection. Care to share? I'd love to try these settings out. Someone should make a SweetFX/ENB thread so we can all post/share our settings.
