PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Has anyone been onto Bhatti about the PC version? I know he couldn't give a shit about anything other than PS3 but still, I'd like to know what he's got to say (probably rude and dismissive).

Yeah he has been. You should see all the tweets re: PC.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Posted this in other thread, but I have the pc version and same applies:

Loving it to be honest, first time in years. Must be playing a different game to everyone else or something. Got it on -1 at the moment. Things like responsiveness for me are in tune with playing in real life, movements take time. Love the way you can't sprint in the centre of the park, but you can drop a shoulder and create space.
For headers and volleys, I'm releasing the power button and direction before contact and that seems to be working....seeing the computer pass it back to the keeper is something I've been waiting years to see. Only problem is the high defensive lines as said before,, putting compactness and defensive line right down helps, more so for the AI teams actually.

Edit: Also think that the graphics are great, with sweetfx or not, menus are poor though, very. This is all on 1.0 by the way, I'm sure when I update the game will be 15 times fast, weightless and the cpu will just play through balls.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

You guys judge the game too early. That's why so many confusing, contradiction and backtracking going on. Try to finish at least one Master League season, then you might have the clear idea of the game (against the CPU). Usually in Master League you can see all the small, continuous details. All the goods and the bads become more visible. Unlike exhibition and online when there's so much random variables.
You have GOT to be over 40, nobody else has time for that!
Play for 15 minutes, write a critique, move onto this afternoon's distraction...

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

The defensive headers are quality in this game. All to do with timing and the trajectory of the ball. Played against Cavani last night with Cahill - a right battle in the air.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Even companies like Blizzard are starting to move to consoles and offer BETTER products on consoles (Diablo 3 anyone?).

The real strength of PC gaming is modding and whilst EA have tried to clamp down on that aspect of FIFA...

Well, they weren't very successful - did you see Moddingway's Fifa 13 patch? Amazing. Not only did it significantly improve the gameplay, it also improved the graphics somewhat by providing club specific adboards for pretty much every Premiership club (maybe it was the same for other leagues) - so it at least felt as though you were playing at different grounds; as well as that, it introduced tons of faces and tattoos as well (not that tattoos bother me that much, but I always like to see attention to detail).

Re Diablo III - were all the issues eventually patched out on PC, or have they actually released a better version on consoles without fixing the PC version?

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Any change for workaround with SweetFX to work with Windows 8.1 RTM ?
Mainly it's a problem because it uses DirectX 11.2. I get this error multiple times:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Yes, there is. Install RadeonPro and integrate SweetFX into it. Then, run the game from RadeonPro's launcher. This fixed my problems since, im on Windows 8.1 aswell.

The only way you could tweak FIFA 13 significantly from a gameplay perspective were via the inadequate sliders or vast db edits tweaking tactics/formations etc. INI file editing had no significant effect in my experience and I probably spent ~40 hours in FIFA 13 most of it modding (gameplay related) stuff. In contrast earlier FIFA versions could introduce pretty drastic changes to gameplay via ini edits.

This was IMO much simpler to achieve in pes 2013, which also had a larger scope for modding than FIFA.

I'm not judging FIFA 14 yet... I had some major issues with how the demo played but haven't devoted any time to tweaking sliders etc. I might try and convince a friend to lend me their origin account or I might buy it at release and see what can be done but tbh I just cbf trying with football games now. I try and aim for a combination simulation-but-fun type experience but I feel I only get close to it in the NBA 2k series.

I think its the responsibility of the gamer to try and find what suits him best... and its been easier over the last couple of years for me to find that balance with PES than with FIFA.

Plus I'm pissed EA didn't release ignite engine on PC.

Re: Diablo 3... well essentially Blizzard have just gone and admitted that their design decisions on PC were ass. Of course the console version doesn't come with the same ass decisions, and even features things like offline play which will never be available for PC for the forseeable future.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

They disabled auction house in PC version finally ;).

But.. This game is still lacking that old Diablo II feeling. It's more like WoW in Diablo terms. Bleh.

Torchlight II was better choice for much less money

As for PES 2014, all I want now is faces, kits and updated transfers. ;P

So I can start Football Life...

So with Diablo 3, they've basically released a better version on console without fixing the PC version first. Thanks, Blizzard - that's a sale you've just lost there, as Diablo III was beginning to creep onto my radar.

Re Fifa - did you try the Moddingway patch? I thought it made a significant difference to the gameplay of Fifa 13.

And yeah, I'm also pissed that EA haven't Ignited the PC version of Fifa, and probably won't do so for years especially as they've pledged to support 'CG' until 2018). Still, I'm going to buy the game I like the most regardless of who it comes from. I haven't tried the PES 2014 demo yet so I can't say which game that'll be yet but I'm less than impressed with what I'm hearing about PES especially the PC version.

What about the ability to add chants for loads of different events; has that been added to the PC version yet?

Don't get me wrong - PES 2014 is awesome. It has that FEEL that the core of the game is solid. Regarding performance, I don't think you should have a problem but who knows how things go. The PES PC has amongst the better modding communities around so it won't be long till something really decent comes from the game.

Its just the same issue I had last year with Konami - they actually release patches that change gameplay, and sometimes when you've found a happy balance one way it gets disrupted. For example, take pes 2014 - I am now incredibly convinced 1.00 AI played significantly differently than 1.01 (and much better) but I can't really rollback the patch because some of the online capabilities will be screwed.

Yeah, I used the moddingway patch. It was excellent in terms of all the fluff i.e. music/adboards/faces etc. Honestly didn't notice/like the gameplay changes but then again I was running a heavily modded version of FIFA already so I can't really remember what it was compared to vanilla.

And don't get diablo 3. Unless you are a super casual RPG fan it will disappoint.

Awareness and player switching are a bloody joke. When they fail to work, they really screw up everything about the game.

Keep losing matches because of my own defenders bumping into me and making me lose the ball to the CPU

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Just played Pro 14 DEMO on Xbox 360 again. After playing a lot of matches on PC, just the one thing I can say is..

LOVE, MUCH LOVE PRO Evo on 360. Can't belive that how big difference is between these two platforms. I didn't believe you guys as you wrote PC version is different but now, officialy I am saying - YES, it fucking is.

100% times better game comparing to the PC one. PLAYABLE, a lot PLAYABLE, just 10 minutes with xbox controller and my face looks like this gif - :CONFUSE::CONFUSE::CONFUSE:

What did I spend my money on? Even though graphic is 60% poorer than on PC, it doesn't matter. It seems like Pro 14 xbox/ps version is just much, much better.

What can we to do with that shitty KONAMI's work? We have been all fucked into ass without any permission.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

More and more nails seem to be hammering into 'The King's' coffin as we speak - at least on PC.

Actually, they're not. We are on day one of PES2014. I'm not excusing the state the game has shipped in but let's not forget that there is an excellent football game underneath the shabby exterior. The more I play the more I see that this is something special and is being let down by a few flaws.

Konami have themselves to blame as they have shut-out potential feedback by not giving us a demo. We could have told them weeks ago what needs improving ready for a day one patch.

They have also denied the modders the time they need to improve the game, something which Konami would do well to acknowledge rather than branding them as damaging hackers. Modders are playing catch-up and therefore we won't see the best of PES2014 for many weeks/months.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Before you state such nonsense The Doc, do yourself a favor and play demo or borrow the game from someone if you have the chance.

Make the decision then. I can't hate this game, even with imperfections, it plays football I have NEVER EVER EVER seen in ANY video game yet. It's just spot on.

However, can somewhat confirm the issues some people have. Player switching when in defense (without ball) needs to be addressed ASAP. It's probably my biggest gripe so far.

There is also framerate issue when in replays. However, it's down to optimization, so will wait for next patch and see if that fixes it.

Some people are really jumping their gun, having forgotten that FIFA 08 had much more problems... ;)

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Now listed on gamesplanet UK for digital download:

Strangely they say release date is 27th. Maybe that's the Steam release date?

In any case, I've had no problems buying from these guys in the past. I'm in NL. I've also bought a gifted copy for a friend in the US. Never encountered any problems.

Decent price too!

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I shoulda pre-ordered this game, BUT NO, I felt the need to drop by the shop on release date, only to find out that in my area pes pc is not highly sought after as ps3 and xbox or fifa pc, so no shops sold it except one where I had to pre-order and they wont even send it to my address and I have to go and collect it. Am never doing this sht again, gonna pre-order it as soon as its available. What upset me more is to see only few hand full of copies (15 or so) of pes was up and the other game had been set out as some sort of decoration all over the walls and behind counters and things. Seems like my area hates pes to pieces.

We don't know the cons and to me that is the biggest con with Steam. Too many unknowns as PES heads into uncharted waters on Steam. Will the automatic updates affect patching?

The DVD version is the safe option until more is known. My biggest worry is Konami can't give us a release date for Steam. That doesn't fill me with confidence.

No chance Im getting it on Steam. DVD is the only safe mod option.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Anybody else having a problem with downloading the data pack? It keeps saying that an error occurred while connecting to the PES 2014 server.. I'm logged in and all so I don't get it :/

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Download the file individually bro. The ingame download is broken.

http://www7.zippyshare.com/v/26154644/file.html - 1.01 patch

http://www24.zippyshare.com/v/49166776/file.html

http://www24.zippyshare.com/v/9203155/file.html

http://www24.zippyshare.com/v/43477702/file.html

The above 4 are DLC 1.0. Unpack this into Program Data\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2014\Download folder.

Enjoy. The only sure way to have it at the moment.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

So because they saw fit to deny us a demo, we're supposed to buy a game that appears to be in a worse state than the console versions? Not good enough, Konami. Not by a long shot. Seriously, this is the sort of shit I expect EA to pull on PC Gamers, not Konami. Looks like they're both getting as bad as each other.

As to the demo, Info - I'd love to play it. Trouble is there doesn't seem to be a PC demo around right now. I thought there was supposed to be a PC demo upon release of the game, but no - it's coming 'soon'.

Sure, EA have denied the PC the Ignite engine because they believe most people can't run it. BS of course, but at least they've provided a demo of the PC version they did release.

I bought the game as a download from Game Dragons today. It works, but there are no online options in the menu. I've got the latest patch, which I understand makes these modes available. Also, there's no way to download the data pack - it says there are no versions available.

Anyone else having problems getting online using a downloaded version of the game?

More and more nails seem to be hammering into your account coffin as well. You either stop that weird wind up agenda of yours or you'll be gone. Consider this a first and only warning.

If the options aren't there the patch didn't install properly.

You have made Your point around here. Any further posts like that will not serve any practical purpose in these threads, OK.
This is a discussion thread, You are just shouting at the wall.
