PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Finally got my copy, must say, this game is utterly glorious looking on the PC, Consoles looked good to be fair but nothing compared to this! Such a treat to finally play full length 20min games after being skanked by the demo's 5min cocktease.

What's your PC's specs?

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I brought the GPU last year. NVIDIA GeForce GT 440. Its solid for me, considering I've only Played PES on it since about 2011. May not handle Crysis whatever insert another amazing graphical game.

Thing is we had an extended 'current-gen' lifespan so even old PC's like mine have still be able to run new games without issue, like i said, i played the FIFA 14 demo, it can handle that on high, no issues. No lag, stutter etc.. nothing.

5 Years, can been seen as a long time for PC but all these games, ones build for PS3/360 haven't moved on so old PCs can still handle them. So essentially PC players where just playing PS3/360 games with x100 times the graphics.

AI hasn't and isn't really moving on, because corporations are just getting away year after year shelling out the same stuff but adding a ton of goodies online rather than improving AI.

Still the same AI, still low end Stuff could handle it.

If anything I think some PC people who are used to midrange high end stuff don't understand that even the low end stuff is solid.

Hmmm... not too sure about that. Rome 2 runs OK on my current setup, but it would run disastrously badly on a five year old machine.

However, did you say you only play PES on PC? Then you may have a point in not wishing to lavish £100s on your PC - just as I would never splash out £400 on a PS4 in order to play just one game (Fifa 14 'NG').

depends on the game rly
rome 2 is pc title and hardware hungry by logic(huge real time battles)

console ports like idk COD u can run on 5 year old with no probs

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Anyway going back to my PC I will need a significant upgrade soon, either end of the year or next year, I'll look to get something with features this.

Intel Core i5 3330 3.0GHz Ivybridge Quad Core Processor
1TB Hard Drive
At least 4GB ram maybe 8

and I'll keep the same card for another year or so then upgrade to a midrange. I think I might go to PC world or another computer and parts place to analyse if it's worth it getting a new motherboard with an i5 processor and just straight buy anew harddrive.

I'd also budget for a small SSD drive, maybe 80 or 120gb to run the operating system on. You can use the 1TB hard drive to store large files etc. Also you may as well get 8gb of ram seeing as there's not much difference in price between 4 and 8gb.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

klashman - do yourself a massive favour and don't get one off the shelf from PC World. Get an independent PC shop to build a system for you; that way you'll get the exact specs you want; there will be ample room for upgrade afterwards (PC World deliberately fill all the available slots to restrict future upgrades) and chances are they may be able to get the components at trade prices. :)

Definitely go for 8gb RAM; 1TB HDD is good, and as said above try and get a decent SSD drive - 128gb or even 80gb - for your system drive so you can watch your boot times fall through the floor. :)

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Some TV's don't have true 1080x1920 resolution.

I could play mine on 1920x1080 in PES 2013. Im having the same problem as dwyer in this year's game.

I'm not into Jim Beglin's voice.. I'm hoping to try Arabic commentary

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I haven't received the game yet so I can't check if it will run at 1080x1920 on my monitor. The only thing I can think of is it something to do with the aspect ratio?

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

ok played a few games now, the game is good the port is not though...

It seems that frame-skip is on by default, causing micro jumps every so often. the frame rate of replays is pathetic, same with cut scenes.

Also seem that the overlays are rendering at a 30fps and the game is rendering at 60fps, wtf???

This is on a I7 3770k, 8gb ram, HD7970 on an SSD. running at 1680x1050, catalyst 13.4 drivers.

Yeah. Never understood why developers offer terrible service for PC digital. They should be making it a top priority.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

On any previous PES titles, you need to turn on the vsync since the game is locked at 60fps. But the problem is vsync is only available on 60Hz refresh rate. Not sure about 2014 though.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

GAME RUNS PERFECTLY ON XP:BRMM:

- just make sure u unmark the "Letterbox" in the settings.exe(that caused slowdowns during matches)

- btw i run it on 1680:1050

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Can pes run in 1080p on pc cant seem to switch mine above 1280/720

Someone said create a shortcut for Settings.exe and double click that. It should be changeable then.

i also have a gtx 460 (1GB VRAM), but i can't choose a resolution above 1280x720. wtf?

edit: i just created a desktop shortcut of settings.exe, clicked on it and now got all resolutions. seriously: DAFUQ! :D

I don't think letterbox going to affect performance. It is the black bar on top and bottom of the screen, basically just to retain the original 16:9 aspect ratio.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Player switching is really slow and my teammates AI are not helping. Have only won twice so far.

Also, although the dribbling combined with sprint is a joy, the normal dribbling is next to unuseable.

So I'm having the same problems as you with a 5 year old granddad weak machine compared to the i7!

The Irony eh?

People with half your machine, are running it perfectly.

Technology in terms of PC hardware motors ahead, but games being designed for consoles from back in 2005/2006 can't catch up.

I was looking at advice on if I could just upgrade my motherboard to an i5 or i7 and install a new hard drive, not going to buy crap for PC World will all those annoying, horrible commercial programs locked in which makes the CPU take forever to switch on and all sorts,

Ain't buying shit from them in terms of built PC's my PC came from Overclockers and the absence of these crappy programs means it still runs nicely even now.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I bought 650GTX Ti for 88 EUROS 4 months ago. This gen is the first gen that the console makers turned into pathetic cheapskates.
The PS3 costed http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/multimedia/display/20061117130000.html
$840
The PS4 costs
http://gamerant.com/ps4-retail-price-xbox-one-subsidized-contracts/
$275

Thus the GPU in PS3 was quite expensive and strong back in 2006. Now the 7850 thats in PS4 costs TODAY 2 months prior to launch:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161406
$135

Thats now. The 9000 series from AMD are imminent. PS4 will not last even half as the PS3 lasted.

I know. That is corporations for you. I don't think we have touched the potential for most of these high end cards in games. These things are best being used now by people making animated movies or advatar like pictures.

Hmmm... not too sure about that. Rome 2 runs OK on my current setup, but it would run disastrously badly on a five year old machine.

Yes, your follow me now :)

Thats my point.
