PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Konami release the PC demo right now !!!!!!! i have started to enjoy the FIFA 14 demo because there is no PES !!!!!!!!!! wtf !?!?!?

Yep; same here whereas before I was hardly going to give it the time of day. Dumb move cutting PC gamers off from the demo, Konami - there are bound to be a lot of people going down this path. Then there are the people who will be thinking 'stuff Konami - they can't even be bothered to release a PC demo'.

I've never been entirely happy with the community made chants in PES. Last year I decided not to bother with them at all which is a shame because when done well, the chants add so much to the match experience.

Chants played on constant loop or one straight after the other don't sound realistic, so Konami needs to implement them better.

Also, the chants need to be of a better quality. Some sound like they are recorded off the TV, others from Youtube clips on the terraces with the ultras. The end result is highly inconsistent, with volume and fidelity levels all over the place.

That might sound extremely ungrateful as these chants are created by the community for free, but I think it will take someone with sound editing experience and equipment to create some realistic sounding chants.

Exactly. Not to bite the hand that feeds, but if you can clearly hear individual voices then you shouldn't include it in your chant pack. That and some the audio levels were all over the place. The volume was often times very overwhelming. A lot of the chants used are passe or extremely situational, but I can see why it would be difficult for someone who isn't extremely familiar with every team to get that spot on. In FIFA 13 the transitions seemed fairly smooth and I believe chants blended in with the default crowd noise.

Maybe I'll try my hand at making my own pack.

I don't know if it's been answered but..

8:5 = 16:10

So it is supposed to be supported right ? I haven't used this resolution ratio though..

I can set my resolution (1920x1200), but its either still with black bars on top and bottom or i get distorted view (ball shaped like egg, thin player models etc) if I untick letterboxing option.

To make it clear, there is my resolution without aspect ratio support.

My setup

I5 520m 2.4ghz
Nvidia GeForce GT 330m
6gb Ram
Windows 7

Will I be able to run high? I was able to in 2013.

I know my rig will never allow me to play the game on max setting but tbh I'm a very simple guy. As long as the game runs smoothly, the gfx can take a backseat for me.

Mr. idiot Sr. Adam you are ready to recieve the "bukkake"?

LOL

But in all seriousness, I definitely believe that the PC version of PES is going to be superior, and I can't wait for it :)

Cons:
No cons.
Pros:
No DVD
The game will be in your digital library, so you can download the game from anywhere.
Best gaming platform out there.
Easy user communication via the Steam Overlay and Chat.

We don't know the cons and to me that is the biggest con with Steam. Too many unknowns as PES heads into uncharted waters on Steam. Will the automatic updates affect patching?

The DVD version is the safe option until more is known. My biggest worry is Konami can't give us a release date for Steam. That doesn't fill me with confidence.

Absolutely, same here. Thing is, I might not even be able to run it on minimum.

Gameplay is key.

Sounds like it's time for an upgrade then - if a football game stutters even low settings, then that's going to have a negative effect on gameplay itself.

Incidentally, any idea how it'll run on my system?

More like £25.

Quite often, it's less than £20 with PES. ;)

Ain't that always the way? When you need an upgrade, you've got no goddamn money...

You'll be fine. It is more GPU dependant than CPU dependant. Many say PES13 runs as though the PC is in idle mode. Your specs should max it easily. Prepare for under 30% CPU usage, as per usual. EA can't optimize their game nearly as well.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I pay 39,95€ and for me, it's okay.
It isn't that cheap, but it isn't also very expensive, so it's just okay. :D

3 days to go, then it arrives. Good that I pre-order it, so I became it directly to my office. :D

I still hope that you guys are right and PES2014 runs on max settings on my good old Q9400 2,66 GHz, 4GB RAM and Radeon HD7770. :(

I'm not a graphic freak, but before the support wrote me, I think my system will be strong enough for max settings.

I have to set my card to run at highest clocks when playing PES2013 otherwise it hardly moves out of idle mode (300Hz/150Hz core/memory). Even then I'm only hitting around 10-15% GPU usage when playing a match. I am using a HD7950 which is a higher end card.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Hm, I'm not really in when it's about GPU and other stuff, thats why I always ask if my config can run PES2014 on max settings smooth. :(

I know that my config isn't that good, I'll also buy a new computer spring next year, but for now, I have to handle with it and thats why I hope it will run smooth.

The HD7770 isn't that bad, thats why I'm confused that the KONAMI support tells, I maybe can get problems. :/
