PC PES 2014 discussion thread

where the hell is england in the WC qualification, not a force to be reckoned with at the moment whatsoever...!!!

First off, what has that got to do with PES 14? Secondly, I believe you'll find us top of our group, one point clear with two games left, both at Wembley.

Does that answer your question?

I don't think it will. PC gamers are still getting a demo but the timing may cause some to purchase the game a few days later.

Also remember that Konami are bringing their new engine to the PC this year, EA isn't. EA are the ones treating PC gamers with utter contempt (they don't even bring Madden to the PC, for example).

I'm not happy about the delayed demo but it won't affect sales one bit. True PES fans are a pretty loyal bunch.

Agreed.

I'm dying to play it as well, but life is busy at the moment, so I guess it works out. Still don't like the decision, but I guess we are about 8 - 10 days away.

Think happy thoughts, gentlemen.

By the end of next week we will be playing the best looking, smoothest version of PES2014. Think of the patches, extra stadia, etc...

Our time will come.

Reporting in from the "other side." It's worth the wait. The PC has been my platform of choice for PES since PES 4. The 360 version looks and runs quite poorly compared to what I'm used to. I couldn't imagine playing that version for an entire year. :SMOKIN:

Modders have already done their thing on the leaked demo, they have managed to get a lot of useful information if I'm not mistaken. What's the point of waiting till the release date for the pc demo then ?

Only thing I can think is that the PC demo was prepared for release until Konami realised it was chock full of all teams again like last year
I don't think Konami mind about community seeing file structure & being able to edit graphics ,the only concern was licencing rights and releasing information before official release.

Actually, they didn't include anything else beside the teams that are already in the demo in the database.

So this years lack of demo is a mere punishment.

That would be amateurish again
I'm not a programming geek but is it possible to not include all those licensed team in the demo ? If so, why did they do it in the first place ?

We salute you, good sir!

Seriously though, last time I played PES on my PS3 I was quite surprised at how bad it looked. I can't tolerate blurry graphics and choppy frame rates these days. PC looks pin-sharp and silky-smooth by comparison.

It's a case of what you're used to in the end. If PS3/360 are all you know then PES2014 probably does look rather nice.

in edit mode, you can change the name and the skills of the players, uniforms, badges, stadiums and chants
edited players and stadiums can be used in several modes..

You don't seriously expect that kind of information from Konami, do you?

This is the only PES game I've really tracked prior to release. From PES 4 onwards, I just bought each new game regardless. I would've thought Konami would've thrown some tidbits our way especially when you look at the amount of info that's come out of EA about CM.

Oh well, game's out soon and then everyone can post what improvements (if any) have been made to those two modes.

Doesn't seem to be a Steam day one release. Do ShopTo still deliver games a couple games early? Otherwise, might just get it on the highstreet. Suggestions?

It looks shockingly poor on the Xbox. And the framerate drop in replays and cutscenes looks like a slideshow. Konami probably should have made a Xbox1 and PS4 version. Could even be the same game just running on the new hardware. FIFA 14 looks nice on a good PC.

I've pre-ordered games from ShopTo for many years now. They used to be good for Wednesday deliveries, certainly Thursday if not. More recently, pre-orders have been getting to me the day before, or on the day of release. That's my experience anyway. I've never had a late one.

As for the high street - good luck if you can find anywhere that sells new PC games. I suppose if you live in a big city you might find somewhere.

Back in July Konami announced that it will be on Steam on the day of release, the same as retail copies.

Yeah, forget the high street for PC games. PC gaming is dead and buried on the high street; digital distribution is where it's at now for PC gaming. Shopto are a good online mail order alternative though; as Jamezinho said, they're very good at getting the game to you on time/early.

Well I've played Fifa14 demo as the Pes2014 demo won't be released till after the full release. Somewhere around the 21st if I remember correctly.

Have the PES demo on the xbox which I will aim to take a look at tonight. Just hoping I will like it. Fifa for me is very much like last years version with a very few changes as far as I can see after four games.

It isn't available yet on Steam. Perhaps it becomes visible day or two before the release date? I guess there's no rush with digital delivery. For example, last year PES 2013 wasn't even listed on sites like gamesplanet.com until one day before release date.

The safe option is to get the DVD version. Maybe go with Steam for PES2015 once we know more about how PES2014 fares on the Steam platform.

Always use Shopto as standard, but I should be moving into a new flat sometime next week, and don't want the horror of it arriving at the wrong address. :CONFUSE:

Anyone heard anything about the US PC release? Either DD or DVD?

I can't find anything anywhere...am starting to think about importing from the UK - are there PAL/NTSC issues with PC games? I don't believe so?
