PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Bombard Adam. He is community manager for fucking sake. He takes money for doing his job. He should be platform independent.

If there are issues to be addressed, POST it to HIM. He needs to pay attention. If not, there is good chance a lot of people will not buy PES next year, because issues are not being taken care of.

It's KONAMI fault for releasing unfinished product. It's up to them to fix it now...

Sadly, I don't have twitter account :(.
I twittered Adam on Friday..asking him to have a look at the PC version because it's bad compare to the console.. No response

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

can someone confirm what this one user wrote about vsync fps cap, only users pls with resfresh rate not at 59/60 hz.

first thing i did after the first match was forcing vsync with radeon pro and i felt the difference, i guess its just engine fps cap 60

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Alright I'll bite. The game isn't finished or if it is then in certain departments Konami have done a terrible job. It's playable and at times really good but there's a bad odour about it.

Defensively - arguably the most crucial part of the game - it's a mess a lot of the time. Honestly, you can get past it with a bit of forethought but sometimes you just can't. You can spam B to clear but your players still want to take touches when they shouldn't need to. Sometimes they lack complete awareness and you know the sad thing is that's only countered by the attackers complete lack of awareness too.

Also, what seemed like interesting middle battles often translates into players just running into each other, knocking the ball into different directions and not reacting to it afterwards, with you often having to get a player further away to go for it. I can see what they were going for but it's not very good really because you lack an ability to shield the ball now they've changed what R2 does. You can't really protect the ball unless the game does it for you. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn't at all.

Is the PC version different to the console game? I've heard some people remark that they think the game reactions are worse on PC.
Brilliant post. Sums up exactly how I feel!

How in earth doesn't Konami have a better support? Mail (Actual, not template answers), 24/7 live-chat anyone? Now the support is just a guy on Twitter? What the hell?

I really wander why you had no response…

PES on PC would be nothing without “hackers” and bunch of other people trying to correct Konami’s “brilliant innovations”. Vanilla PES is like that Antoine Dodson YouTube blooper. It’s new, enjoyable but… blah.

Then, juice/jenkey step in, and game become something else. It’s like this…

After them, all other modders start to contribute and we have something for everybody.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

By the way, the rainbow flick trick can be performed by anybody with 100% accuracy!!! I tried it with Juventus and was shocked to see every player, including the GK's, were able to pull it off with ease! lol. I remember this happened couple years ago and they fixed it with a patch. But how can a team make the same mistake over and over again? I don't get it :CONFUSE::NO:

Holy crap I finally got it working.

Had a couple lovely friendlies, really enjoyed it. So went into training to learn how things work.

It's preposterously imprecise for me. Even simple-ish stuff in the 'advanced' menu are impossible to do consistently, like the feints and things. Also the AI in training is laughable, on one task you're in a 2 on 2 with the goal to doing a finesse shot, and your teammate just hides behind his marker. Can't make him run or anything.

Is this thing definitely a finished product?!

Not sure if you noticed but there's a difficulty option for training as well. Set it to Superstar or something cause default is on regular.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Suicidal decision by Konami really to not release a PC demo :/
Hardly. PC version makes up a very tiny percentage of overall sales. They didn't rush to put out a PC demo because it's barely worth their time financially when compared to console version sales.

Yes, back in the days of the PES2011 MLO beta, it was Zeemeister who posted a video of a player performing consecutive rainbow-flicks half the length of the pitch.

I've done it with the keeper when pissing about, Rene Higuita style. Not only that, I followed it up with a perfect diving header before the ball had hit the ground.

Konami never learn.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Hi people, first post here. Never actually visited the site before but im liking what i see. I have a few questions hopefully anyone can answer:

What does the 'LT + RT is not valid' message in controller setings actually do?

If forcing AA, can you post your settings or a screenshot? Im forcing 16 Anistropic, 32 CSAA and 8x Supersampling in Nvidia CP. Cant see much difference.

Someone please confirm soundtrack resets to default upon startup? Ive been setting mine up and they keep resetting, dont know why.

Is anyone using a customr esolutio yet? Ive got 2540x1600 in my monitor setup but the game doesnt see it because my native is 1920x1200. Can someone confirm the same thing?

I know, quite a few questions but for me it comes down to getting info about the above and fixing all the damn glitches/bugs in 2014 or going to Fifa, which id rather not.Changing Texture Filtering to High performance has helped with the input lag/switching problem. Thanks for that, whoever discovered it.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Unless it already runs fine with nvidia optimus laptop, those who plays on a notebook with Nvidia GPU with optimus and can't inject SweetFX because it probably recognize the intel onboard, i found this:

YouTube - How to play Binary Domain on an Optimus Laptop (Fix and Guide)

The file http://www.mediafire.com/download/kpfbzu81al7we4d/SweetFX-1.4preinstalled%5D.zip

I haven't really play with but it works and i notice a better contrast with the given file. I'll try to find another setting. Have fun. :))

With all due respect I don't agree with the second paragraph about the middle battles. It requires a learning curve and a proper new mindset, just forget about the previous PES and what R2 did there. In the beginning I also had like a 'ping-pong' game everywhere on the field, especially in the middle. You can shield the ball, it's purely contextual not as in FIFA or previous R2 feature. If you want to turn back and shield then just use left stick to turn your player back to the opponent (there are also a couple of turnover tricks), then just pres R1(RB) to stop the ball (pressing R1(RB) player does not turn around, he just stops immediately) and just wait until there is a contact with opponent (if it's not yet done). Then, using right stick you can still fight while protecting ball. For me it works perfectly.

At the end I would like to again stress it out, forget about R2, I know it's hard to forget when your mind got used to it... It is never easy, it takes time. However this is the very first thing that is causing 'ping-pong' gameplay... It has now a completely different purpose. Close dribbling is now by default always with the left stick, so just use only left stick. R2 is still useful but for completely different scenario.

Anyone else having problems downloading the Datapack?

"an unexpected problem has occured while communicating with the PES2014 server"

Also for those whose laptop is nvidia optimus configured, setting.exe shows the intel onboard despite configuring setting.exe to run with nvidia gpu, please update your nvidia driver to the newest. It does solve the problem. :)

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

isn't anybody here whou actualy bought the game to tell if buying players in MLO works for them?
I get error comunincating with server.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Reading some of the posts in here makes clear to me why they don't want PC people to try the game before buying it.
Now this is getting annoying: not only you provide an unfinished product which (from what I read and not only here) has a ton of issues still waiting to be addressed, but you don't even let people try it to decide if it's worth buying anyway.

How do you expect me to decide whether to buy the game or not, by judging if the font used on the front cover looks good?

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

guys..
1.0 version or 1.1? best¿
comments please

1.1 is better because they've fixed some bugs (ball trajectory seems better etc...), implemented missing stuff like online mode and it's required to download the DLC. I am unsure if you can add the DLC via "the backdoor" without adding the patch though.

------------

All in all I am very pleased with this game. OK, the menus are awful, the edit mode sucks for many reasons and the game seems to be slow loading, especially the stuff you add yourself like team badges and kits.

The match engine on the other hand is quite good. If you control your team to constantly go forward rather than look to find the good gaps to exploit, this engine is hardly any better than previous versions and counterparts. But if you try to play a sensible game of football where you try to conserve the players to last 90 minutes and retain possession every once in a while this match engine can be amazing.

I have a small wish that they will make players favor their main foot a bit more in the future.

Rating 8/10

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I've played about 10 matches, and I think that it's a great game.

The game play is great. There is a real battle in midfield (at last) and its difficult to pass your way through the midfield in a few passes like pervious editions and in FIFA.

The opposition will often attempt to pass backwards and passit around instead of being direct, which is excellent. Long ball teams will still boot it forward into a contest or the wingers, which is great because it means that there are more distinct playing styles, depending on the team.

I'm not sure what to think of the goalkeepers though. I understand that it is realistic to have a slight reaction time difference between the shot and the GK's reaction, but some of the shots that do go on are very close to the GK's body and appear very savable.

The stadium atmosphere is wonderful and realistic. I enjoyed, for example, playing at home a Qatari team and hearing the Arabic chanting and singing that you hear when watching games involving an Arab team. Seeing brazilian fans burn flares is also entertaining and great to see.

Other things, like the lack of licences, stadiums and faces can easily be addressed. In PES 2013, I managed to get all the stadiums for the Premier League, Bundesliga and other great stadiums such as the Beijing Bird's Nest, The Maracana, The Sydney Olympic Stadium, La Bombenera, Galatsaray, Amsterdam, Luzhniki and many more from all around the world, so I have no real problem there. In a few weeks we should see some excellent options files come out.

I give the game a 9/10. I'm sure many problems will come out later though, as they usually do.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Been thinking of doing the same. This game does so many things right and has serious potential but....it's painfully obvious that this game was a rush job.

Only 5 European clubs have a home stadium, that's my problem (Milan, Inter, Juventus, Man Utd and Bayern Munich). That's not good enough really.

The generic stadia look good (love the new Konami Stadium) but even they have been slashed in number. When Konami are cutting generic stadia you have to ask what the hell is going on?
They took some really good stadiums out, like Mohammed Lewis and Palenque :(

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I have an Intel HD 4000 Graphics Card,

Game won't let me change Picture Quality from "Low" or go higher than 1280x720 resolution.

I'm using a laptop so can't upgrade my graphics card, is there any way to change Picture Quality? Even Fifa 13 looks better on my pc..

It looks like your PC or laptop is falling behind the times. I have something similar and played the FIFA 14 demo on it, with lots of lag and stuttering.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

At the end of the day, when playing a match all stadiums looks the same. All you see is a green field... so as long as there are one stadium I'm satisfied. I am more annoyed by the new faces as everyone looks like clones with different skin colors. The best visual improvement is the hair, most of them looks great but in all fairness the hair in PES2013 and older was utterly ugly or worse.
