Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

For example i will create Bundesliga with proper players. In Pes 2013 i saw logo and teams name in online exibition match but fake players names and stats. It means i will see proper player stats ( edited my own) and names in Pes 2014?

Yeah that's not what they meant. Not too hard to figure out why that's not/shouldn't be possible.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Re: How do you dribble, how do you do headers...

I'm usually going crazy trying to find out all the things that buttons and button combinations do and that are not mentioned in Konami's "official" info about the button configuration.

I try to absorb as much as possible from the helpful tips here in this thread, but I don't have the game yet and will have forgotten everything when I start playing.

Maybe it's an idea to have a separate thread with all these "button secrets", if anyone wants to go through that trouble?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Fantastic duo my friend. I'll also get both, but the downloadable versions.

But I bet you are in a true dilema to decide wich one you will play first and each one you will dedicate most of your time, aren't you ?

that's really good to know amigo, i know you will enjoy them both.. and hopefully i'll challenge u online ;)

i truly believe these 2 games alone would justify buying a PS3 for.. but about which game playing first? i'd sa GTA since we all know it's a finished product, Rockstar games ALWAYS deliver.. even if it takes them 5 years or so.

PES on the other way, i got it last sunday and it honestly feels like it's a bit unpolished. Don't get me wrong, it's brilliant, but probably after the official release date (and the obligatory datapack download) it will feel better.
I played a libertadores campaign with Atletico Mineiro and they are a joy to play with.. until i faced Gremio and they kicked me out in semis.

Also, i don't feel like starting a campaign unless everythings ready: player faces, correct names, uniforms etc.

i will start a BAL carrer today just for the sake of it and to give you guys some input on it.

Cheers!

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Any manual player could help me with this? Bitter?

Hi mate, your shots will be more accurate and more powerful with the Gerrard over Hibbert example.

Manual shooting is still stats based, it just takes away the AI auto aiming. There's basically just more than 3 ways to aim (on basic shot it's a shambles, limited to left, right, middle and the CPU does the rest).

Once you master it, the goals you score are more satisfying and ten times more realistic plus you feel you get variation.

Personally I have found manual shooting slightly easier (along with manual passing) on PES 14 so far, although, saying that, I never ever did a corner flag shot in PES 13 after I mastered it, yet I've had about 2 or 3 in the last couple of days that went about 50 yards wide just when I was thinking I've mastered it!

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Well I grabbed a copy this morning and after several games here comes my opinion:

- Game feels more similar to PES 2013 than the demo did. Not sure yet why, but it does.
- PS3 version suffers of severe framedrop and stuttering in cutscenes. I only saw stuttering once during gameplay... but I did.
- It seems in my totally unscientific experience that Champions League games are more subject to framedrop and sudden freezes than regular games.
- Faces, in general are a shame. Faces of the best players are stunning. DLC can't come soon enough.
- R1 "double-tap-to-sprint" seems a bit nerfed to me - ball runs further than it did in the demo, harder to use. Better IMHO.
- There's definitely a feel of inertia (M.A.S.S I suppose...) that prevents you from playing "the usual way". A bit toned down from the demo, but still game changing. No 90º turns without momentum, this is the real stuff.
- Combination play is the best thing since sliced bread to me. Totally changes my buildup, you use it as a diversion from your real play or as the real stuff, depending on what you want... Works like a charm, easy to use and hard to master, as it should be.
- Crosses are über-hard to head. I surely need a tutorial somewhere, only hit one header in a bazillion crosses.
- Keepers are much improved to my perception, better than the demo code. Still, there's a stupid move or freeze here and there, I guess up to this point we're stuck with them.
- Long range shots feel good to me. Balotelli, Ronaldo, Boateng, Messi, Bale hit total screamers if the position, timing and spacing of the ball is correct. Montolivo, Modric, Pirlo, Iniesta hit softer but with loads of swerve and effect, equally dangerous in their way.
- I love the fake GK pass.

Will post more as I notice. Impressions are good so far...

how to place a shot on manual without it ballooning over the bar. I use the skill button to finesse it but this seems to be incorrect>? or broke?

Did any of your long shots go in? My issue is not with the shoots per se, they look fine, powerfull and all, but the superhuman GKs saving impossible shoots are really annoying me.

@sir_poc
Tnx for the explanation, ill give it a try tonight.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

They sure are miles better than FIFA's, but I think there's room for improvement.

When you press R2 and move sideways, it looks terribad! That movement seems off, like it doesn't belong.

It makes the game look inconsistent when some animations are brilliant and some other few are bad.

Nothing gamebreaking really.

Yes, there is always room for improvement there and here.
Though the R2 close control doesn't look that bad in my eyes..

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

People tend to forget that there's only a couple of other games with the same amount of animations as a football game, with so many small transitions and and possible body part positions... There's not much to compare it too except maybe the opposition and NBA games.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Can anyone give me some tips on how to head the ball from a cross please? I'll very much appreciate it.:))

You should release shoot button before shooting..

Yes you should release before, I don't know if it's a bug or intended.

And if you want a low header like the low shot you have to press Triangle or Y just before hitting the ball.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm looking to download the EU version of PES that comes out Friday on PSN. Could I possibly create a EU PSN account (I live in Canada), and purchase the game without breaking any infringements? Because to my understanding, during the creation of my account, I need to provide a real address. Or does that not matter, as long as my credit card details are my own.
