I never thought you were 51 years oldMassive respect!
Im 30 looking for GSOH and big tits and an ability to cook?
Am i doing it right?
If you release left stick on 1-2's as the command list says the passes seem more accurate.
I'm playing on manual, so it's quite hard to find the runner in his stride on 1-2s, that's why I always preferred X + R2 which doesn't seem to be the same anymore. I'm only going on the demo, but if you make a 1-2 even in your own half, the player will just keep running and running....and running right through in a straight line to the oppositions goaline.
Anyway, for what it's wroth I'm 30 soon. I did imagine everyone was older here on evo web, although I do wonder if Konami would be quite surprised that their market is the 'older' gamer.
I definitely feel like it's an age thing, I am a teacher and the kids at school definitely all prefer the more fast paced, on crack type of game. In fact they take the piss for me liking PES! So I already had in my head that the divisions probably are founded somewhere on age.
To me PES is more of a slower, continental approach to football (generally) over the series. A bit like Serie A games in the 90s that I am sure a lot of the 25+ will remember.
The younger folks are probably more used to the fast paced nature of Football in the last 5-10 years and understandably PES seems clunky and slow to them as that's their perception of football and with none of the main licenses that just tops it off.
I'm 34.
I still create myself as a 20 year old in PES and make myself the captain of my ML team. For the last few years I've been giving myself the ENFORCER, BOX TO BOX, LONG RANGE DRIVE skill cards amongst others.
I call my virtual manager BOB DICKFINGERS and give him the Valderrama afro.
That's all my guilty secrets. Feel much better now.
And I'm supposed to feel easy moderating all you wiser folk...
I will not go on talking about our ( surprisingly high ) ages but I think there is a connection between the love for the new PES 2014 and this age.
Younger people tend to find licences more important then the older gamers, who think of gameplay in the first place. That is because we used to play on the ISS series with very few ( if any ) licences. I am not saying younger people are not interested in gameplay, certainly not. Maybe I generalize a bit but it is my impression.
PES 2014 seems to be especially great for the older players because the gameplay has improved so much over the previous titles.
This year I am very happy with PES 2014 and if you see that this is done for current gen consoles, I think Konami has done a great job, despite some issues.
any news on what that 800mb content is? I suppose a lot of transfers and maybe some faces and stadiums? (didn't Konami announce releasing stadiums as dlc?)
Re: my PES1 comment a little earlier - I may be deluded but I genuinely feel that the latest incarnation has the same feel where getting a clear cut opportunity wasnt all that easy.
YouTube - Pro Evolution Soccer (PS2) (oddly looks a little quicker than I recall!)
