Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

And two days after release I can't help myself due to changes in new demo, leaked demo was more hardcore than this one. Better shooting, passing and running with the ball. These three things for me are changed to worse. totally different "PES" feeling! Leaked demo I was playing with pleasure, this now with bitterness

You can thank certain prophets of doom for that. It feels clunky, it's not responsive enough etc etc.

For once and for all Konami should stick to their philosophy and not countenance some of the feedback they receive.

Because it ends up in compromises being made all over the place to accommodate those who are unwilling to follow their philosophy.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

When you streaming again Bitter? had to go earlier what you think of the full game.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

@_anderson

First demo reminded me to PES5, this now is nothing like it

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

All I know is that I thoroughly enjoy the official demo. I hope the retail version feels more or less the same (with a few fixes here and there).

I regret I ever tried leaked demo, because I know how it was!

So next year no demos for me!

Yep! exactly how I feel too.

Only thing that needed changing from the leaked demo was the bug where players ran past the ball and the goalies and the framerate.

Well they didn't fix the last issue (maybe a patch can fix that), they fixed that bug at the expense of the passing being more restricted and less free, and the goalies they """"fixed"""" at the expense of the shooting (although the shooting wasn't perfect in the first demo). it's just really annoying

People have changed these days. They are quick to moan about a product rather than fully investigate it.

They seem so desperate and constantly on tenterhooks, looking to complain about anything which dose't instantly fall into their liking. Instantly going online moaning, claiming its broken since they are gods at the game and if they can't play it, nobody can.

Some people have complained vigorously about this game without even looking at the instructions. They just think because they mastered the game before they will walk in and become instant masters.

This is the society we live in. This didn't happen in the PS2 era.

The leaked demo had a lot of severe responsiveness issues, perfect advanced shooting, broken referee and many more issues.

Your being that negative, your painting the leaked demo as if it;s perfect. Seriously, have you really had that bad a day?

You sound like a Diva.

In what way did they tone down shooting? Don't tell me they made it like one of the recent years where they limited the shooting directions so keepers could catch the ball.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

If they completely toned down momentum to solve the so called "button lag", I'm going on an insulting spree. :(

Did you remember Asim's impresion of preview code when he said: "Foot planting was pretty much non-existent, with players sliding into position to take a shot rather than doing it realistically", I feel that now!

And this one: "Right now though, and I could be totally wrong here, but it feels like this isn't a totally new engine. It feels like the old engine with elements of the Fox Engine thrown into the mix. That's the main problem for me at the moment, as it's essentially affecting the overall quality of the game."

Currently going through to this same phase in demo 2 in only 2 days!

Asim was talking about the exact demo you tried, the leaked demo.In fact he said that players were heavy like tanks.
And like you said players in leaked demo were heavy like tanks.

Its all physiological just like "x demo is better than y".

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

The gameplay in the full game seems to be the same in UK Winning Eleven demo 2. Some tiny differences and gameplay speeds.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

I didn't get to play the leaked demo, but from what I've played of the 2nd demo, PES 2014 feels absolutely nothing like PES 2013. Sure there are niggles here and there that both games have in common but I think some of you need to go back and play PES 2013 again to compare.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

If this is a result of the WENB vibe, don't bring that BS into the thread. And don't quote that person because if that's the case, he's one of the responsible for it.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

We will never have a hardcore football or any sports simulation because most people like easy games pick and play.Just think about it from a business perspective a more arcade game will sell better although i don't think your casual gamer would choose a football game with only 18 stadiums/200 faces when they can buy Fifa.
I wonder if EA sports will also downgrade the inertia/momentum in the final version of Fifa 14...

I don't know where all of this is coming from, but I surely don't agree.

PES 2014 final game feels the same as PES 2014 official Demo and leaked Demo. The only difference is that the final game feels more responsive, smoother and the catch-up bug has been toned down A LITTLE (not completely).

Placebo effect is at full range over here it seems.

People start to think "oh the full game can be so different from this amazing demo" so early that once they get the full game they are convinced that it's different.

Let me tell you something: Internet ruined PES/WE. That's it.
Back in the day, you got the game and that was it, you had nothing else to do more than playing it and get used to it. Either loved it or hated it, but that was all you got. Nowadays it's like "oh let's see what other people can plant into my own mind to make me stop enjoying".

well, there it is

maybe i have a different demo, but playing pes 2013 for a year (it's still a good game, believe it or not) and then trying Pes 2014 demo showed me a completely different game.

A game where physicality is important (it was notimportant in Pes 2013)
where passing assistance at 0 bars is a bit more free than pes 2013 and shooting is good, absolutely not like in pes 2012

above all AI feels like a real time playing compared to the cheating teams in Pes 2013 at top player difficulty

I couldn't agree more Klashman. I do not wish to portray it as a generalized age related issue but there seems to be more of an instant gratification culture.

I rather like looking into the nuances of the game and being surprised by it over a few months and trying to master it.

Granted I do not have the time that I used to with family and work taking precedence, but I will still try and learn how to play it to the best of the games ability.

Undoubtedly there will be flaws. No game is perfect. No game can recreate the randomness of a football match.

The computing power to do that in a home PC as in creating individual AI for each player in a fully contextual fashion to other factors is not available as yet.

I have seen some flaws but I like where Konami are going and realize it's the first season with the new engine going gold and that it can be the basis of a very solid game which they to borrow from their own marketing speak , evolve each year.

However most of the time the complaining as on a certain forum reminds me of little kids denied a treat they think they are entitled to.

Listen to this man,he has the full game. Don't go into paranoia mode.

The bolded parts are so true.

Yes fair enough.

Believe me i'm not saying that the leaked demo was perfect im just trying to say that they are going at it the wrong way.

I enjoy the demo but it is just frustrating that konami every years seem to panic whenever release comes and they mess with things that aren't broken in order to fix issues but to a much lesser extent.

There has to be something wrong when the past few years I enjoyed the unfinished versions more than the proposedly more finished versions

I mean goalies are horrible for nearly 4 years, to me it's like give it up already and focus on other things konami, you're never going to get it apparently ;)

This is true. But there are a certain group of gamers who want as close to the real thing as possible. And in future with the rise in computing power that surely will be the aim.

Science fiction may become reality where people are more immersed in their online world as an entity to 'live' than their real world.

The games I have held on to playing the longest are the ones with the greatest level of realism. GP4, GTR2 and PES5/6 for a while as well as Steel Panthers World At War which is accurate to the nth degree in terms of it's technical data and details.

As someone going into the full retail game without having played a demo at all - something that I haven't experienced for years - this is going to be interesting for me.

All I can compare with is PES2013.

Perhaps this is the way to do it? No demo, as per the old days. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.
