Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Thanks Jimmy, although I am pretty sure I tried all variations of R2 last night and couldn't make anything work.

I don't really like the 1-2 with L1, the player seems to carry on his run for about 40 yards and goes way out of position as I only really use it for my full backs.

It's the single most thing that's doing my head in with this demo.

Did you tweet adam about it?

I think we should bombard Konami to create a DLC of Generic stadiums from PES 2013 to be updates and put into 2014!

I'll be happy if we see Rose Park, Stadio Orine, Mohammed Lewis etc.. all back at some point this generation.

Same here...

Yeah, I think it's essential. Aside from anything else, pretty much every stadium left in the game is a mega-stadium, or at least 40,000 capacity. Where are the D2 sides going to play? The Chilean league? Teams like Evian, or Fulham? 90% of the Dutch league?

And is it really true that pressure from EA re. licenses led to the removal of the stadium editor? Something about that just doesn't ring true. It makes no sense at all.

The stadium editor was indeed removed because EA claimed people shared very similar stadiums to the licensed ones with the true names.

I don't use Twitter, but I am sure it's me doing something wrong. I've just got home and tried it again, simply does not work for me using the pass and move. If I hold R2, before the pass, tap r2 before or after, whatever variation, the player will not then make a run.

Has anyone actually made this work? For me it's probably one of the most important controls to actually get your AI players into the spaces you want.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Do you guys actually believe there is a chance Konami releases DLC down the road ? I don't see it happening sadly (not even for faces despite Adam's statements)

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

There's a little cutscene that I loved... one of my players got injured, he got out of the pitch and while he was sitting down, in pain, he was talking to one of the subs. The sub was wearing a jacket of the team.

For the first time in years, I actually enjoyed a cinematic.

The stadium editor was indeed removed because EA claimed people shared very similar stadiums to the licensed ones with the true names.

But the whole thing with the stadium editor was that you couldn't do that at all. It was pretty much impossible to create anything that looked remotely like any famous stadium anywhere in the world. What you could do with it was make decent generic stadia, e.g. small open-bowl Italian stadium, open-square old-fashioned English stadium, high-sided open-stands Spanish stadium etc etc. Because Konami couldn't be bothered to include more realistic generics in the game (which EA manage to do every year, on top of their licensed stadia), it was kind of necessary. I don't think anyone really thought those Premier League stadia actually looked remotely like their real-life equivalents, but it was better than playing those games in some kind of mega-dome.

And yet we're allowed to import kits, sleeve logos, sock logos etc? I'm guessing that's next on the EA hitlist. And that will be the end of PES, and indeed the end of any competition whatsoever in football gaming. Enjoy it while it lasts.

In the meantime, we really do need to get on to Konami or their much-loved PR man re. a DLC of generic stadia. I mean, really they should have made some licensed South American stadia like they did the Spanish ones last year, but hey - that takes time. I would imagine that converting the PES 2013 generics would take a lot less time. No reason whatsoever why they can't do some before Christmas.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

I see a big difference between uk demo and winning eleven Jp demo. WE demo so much better, more responsive and much more smoother. I wonder if the full game is like Jp demo or more like uk demo? I hope the full game it's more like winning eleven or even better. Anyone with a full game and played both demos can confirm, please.
Thanks

What a LOAD of absolutel nonsense, they've released DLC every year since about PES 2008?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

The manual shooting problem isn't down to practise, I can shoot fine with a normal shot, it's finesse shots which don't work properly!

I don't think they had enough time to update it to PES 2014 standard.

The stadium editors models where low quality and would make PES 2014 look bad if just thrown in without a sufficient update.

EA can't stop a stadium editor.

Still can't see why we can't have another 10/20 stadiums added in DLC content. The generic ones, Dragao, Ramon Sanchez Pusjuan, Anoeta etc..

This is exactly what I think. The alternative explanation handed down from on high by the PES Messiah sounds like bollocks to me (and legally dubious bollocks at that). But hey, I'm probably wrong...

I think he meant to say that they didn't have time but just worded it wrong so it sounded as if EA took it out when what they did was stop the Spanish stadiums from happening.

If it's true EA did block Stadium Editor it could be EA shitting themselves regarding the tool having stadium elements which could easily be used to create stadiums they spent millions buying exclusive licences for.

Pathetic if true from EA.
