PES 2014 Discussion Thread

There is some individuality in FIFA. I used relatively few teams in FIFA 09 when I regularly played it (Hamburg my fav); , even manual seems to have become more stat based than it was in the past.

But its still not on the level of PES because I don't feel they focus on it as much as the PES team does. PES seems to be built from the ground up with it as a key feature, in FIFA it seems less of a priority focus.

PES's individuality is not restricted to top players, there's plenty of lower ranked players you can pick up in ML or MLO, even with weak stats they may have a special card or two or the odd standout thing that makes them interesting. Or you just feel the weaknesses.

As we can move clubs in ML, what happens with the ai teams?

Are there ai managers now who get hired and fired or do we just replace anyone regardless of what they're doing? Win the league and suddenly Real Madrid, man united, Chelsea and Barcelona are all on offer despite them doing fine?

I'm guessing the latter :(

Yes we can move from club to another in ML. Bad thing is that D2 follows with you. Let's say you start playing as Valencia and after few seasons you decide to change to Arsenal. Adam said that we should make sure our option file is updated but what if 3 licensed teams relegate from La Liga (you can't edit those teams) and few seasons later they appear in English League . So basically if you don't want ML full of fantasy leagues you can't change clubs...

Of course changing clubs within a league is no problem.

How is individuality btw? I've not actually heard an awful lot regarding it. And new the stats.

I think its one aspect thats regressed since 2011, so hopefully we see more focus on it this year. And I don't mean specific mo-cappin of Ribery and co., I mean distinctions between standard player types.

I want that feel of the mercurcial luxury playmaker back. I hope Vision is implemented into this Advanced Through Ball system.

PES 2011's individuality was probably more evident first hand than 2013. But I'd say 2013 has its advantages over 2011 in areas.

I think I enjoyed dribbling more with players like Labyad in 2011 compared to 2013. In 2011 the dribbling seemed more loose than in 2013 where its a little more stuck to the player.

2014 can't be judged yet because of how crap the general responsiveness is, you can't do any weaving runs with dribblers to really test it out, I've been fouled so many times but nothing.

the less sprinting you do on this game the better. the AI does not punish you as much as you keep your shape better and you can still beat your man without it. but at times it is very useful

love this game lads

We can move clubs in ML now? That's confirmed? Brilliant news if so.

Yeah Dags it's been confirmed :)

Also seen it myself if that helps, but can't get into it for 2 reasons:

1. Not allowed to get into detail yet.
2. Most importantly, can't get into detail because I hardly played it :P Just quickly fired up ML to see it myself and quickly back out.

Are zero passing assist players using the new advanced through ball? I dont think its stats based( but not sure) and therefor Hummels through ball is as good as Pirlos. Thats now very realistic.

responsiveness is perfect for me now but I have played this to death. there is nothing wrong with it for me.

this game is something else. if they change it to much they might break it lol.

the pace of the game without sprinting is just sublime.

I am playing some great stuff now

Hey Lami, not asking you to give out details you can't :)
but can we safely say this year ML will be revamped/expanded?
Can we expect true innovations on that?
tks

Is advance through ball just the same as a manual through ball?

As I have understood it, manual through ball means you control the direction without any help from the game.
Advanced throughball also gives the possibility to add curl to the throughball by moving the stick in a certain way before striking it.

Not sure if Advanced throughball requires manual throughballs to be used, or if advanced throughball can also be activated when needed even if normal throughballs are AI assisted.

This was actually confirmed, in clear words, beyond any doubt or license to artistic interpretation?

my experience is that is still stat based. pirlo passes are clearly more precise than giaccherini's ones.

i think shooting advanced is pretty crap though, or maybe i haven't got the hang of it.but i haven't hit a decent shot with that option.

passing is nowhere as free even on 0, which is a good news to me as passing should alwasy be stat based otherwise individuality is killed.

Not the only option though. You could change clubs in BAL, but D2 wasn't available in that mode. Makes me wonder why - Konami being lazy to implement it or having enough common sense not to implement it to avoid team mixing chaos that would appear after couple of seasons.

Interesting choice of words - 'you need to keep your OF updated'. Does that mean that we could change something in OF and those changes will reflect in ongoing ML?

That certainly wasn't the case in older versions of PES

impossible because the transfer system would be fucked up.

some serious shit thinking going on at Konami HQ.

M2 2 cents: league mode + transfers + Cl would be a perfect masterleague...no need for all that shit u get in the ML, especially training, coaching stuff, cutscenes etc. I even stop playing fifa cm because all the mail and news and moaning started getting on my nerves. if u want a managerial game buy football manager.

I'm pretty sure we can't rename (or change logos) those licensed teams which could solve the problem with them relegating from one league and then promoting to another.

It could just be a Google Translate mistranslation, but underneath the "League" heading on Konami's Japanese Winning Eleven site, it says the following:

"In addition to the six European major league so far, league of Asia now also enjoy (Brazil, Argentina, Chile) and three major league of South America. Games that can be played by the results fit the top of each league is also present, so far you can enjoy the league in volume or more."

Am I missing something: Premier League, Ligue 1, Serie A, Eredivisie, La Liga, and Europe Other A/B...or could this mean the reintroduction of a generic Bundesliga? If so, that would be awesome news!

IMO, until they make one 2nd division for each league, there are some options that would make much more sense than having this supposed crap of 'D2 following you around' as an only option:
1. No D2 at all in ML
2. D2 fixed to the initial league in our campaign
3. D2 fixed to the league of choice (during initial ML campaign setup)
4. D2 following you around - if that's your cup of tea

Semi-fake Portuguese league since PES 2012
