Why do Konami insist on shooting themselves in the foot? game looks so promising this year and they keep scoring own goal after own goal. Rain is quite a simple thing to include in the game and it should be in, just shows a bit of incompetence (again) from Konami when they cant include rain conditions due to framerate issues.

Has anyone actually played Uncharted 2 & 3 on the PS3 in 1080p? the graphics are visually STUNNING and the framerate is incredibly smooth, clearly this new engine Konami are using for PES 2014 is poorly optimised.

Konami has always used old excuse Engine
and now we can say

engine never at fault, it's theirs, not know how to use

Games like Uncharted can use a great array of tricks in terms of making the game look good for pretty cheap on the hardware that football games just can't use.

Although I could also see a case of bad optimization for stuff like lighting and physics.

It's not like we're asking for lightning storms with thunders striking upon players. We're asking for something much simpler. I'm not buying the 'current gen limitation' excuse.

You want honest? Anyone who types LOL in bold is just looking for a reaction. It's childish, may as well type nah nah nah-NAH nah.

As soon as Lami stated there was NO RAIN..the major improvement of the game was forgotten by some and the bigger picture was lost.

If that isn't funny to you then I'm sorry for angering you..

Would we have known if it wasn't for Lami?

Yea Adam was going to but i guess i went sooner. Maybe i shouldn't have. He told me precisely bcause of framerate it might not make it. So i went and took that as it won't. Good reasons though. I'd take gameplay this beautiful gameplay over framerate issues any day. Don't want anything hampering this.

Hopefully the Demo will make us all forget about rain for a good while and give Konami another chance for next year. It better be damn good. Right now the only thing I can think of (about PES 2014) is that Konami should sell the franchise to 2KSports, because they clearly aren't up to speed, haven't been since 2006.

The strange thing is Adam was talking on Twitter how incredible rain is in PES 2014 and how it affects play

Not on twitter, on here. Which shows it was never our intention to not have rain. And right now I still don't know, so the reactions are a bit much.

I'm in Dubai but wanted to quickly take the time out to pop here and just respond very quickly.

First of all, rain wasn't in the code in Dubai. We were asked why, and we said we're still working on it, as it's not up the usual high standards.

Suddenly, fans think we've confirmed no rain. I tell you, I wish we got this sort of reaction when we announce something good, it's been like wildfire! But I ask one thing, please don't stress just yet. I've used this breakout of negativity to go back to the team for an official answer. I will try and provide it to you tomorrow if possible before I fly back.

If it doesn't make it, it will be technical only. We've always had the intention to include rain. I remember PES on PS2 days wouldn't have crowd in wide cam to keep framrate high after some versions had slowdown. We don't want that.

I also completely understand frustrations here, I'm not oblivious to the fact it's a common scene in football and the way the game behaves, but at the same time pointless in implementing if it impacts the experience. The team know this also.

I've seen people say they won't buy PES because of this, which is weird because PES 2013 you couldn't even see it. Which in essence is a bad way of implementing it, and we shouldn't be doing that also.

But anyway, please wait until tomorrow before you react, I'll do my best to help.

OK, no rain. Dissapointing.

But, will it be an overcast setting at least? It's the same as rain but without the raindrops, so it shouldn't affect the framerate. And very realistic for english matches.

I'm starting to get worried now about master league off and online, iv never come across a game that gives full details of game modes 2 weeks before release not a good sign.

2KSports surely have quite popular reputation around sports gaming board right? But the reality is, beside NBA they're incompetent and unproven. The last couple of MLB, NHL for examples weren't well received by their fans for plenty reasons. Also they're no stranger of removing couple of feature for no apparent reason and re-introduce them later.

I have fear
I hope this does not happen, which is exactly as previous ML versions, nor to change the team, the game is going to buy my grandmother
