I'm proud that I managed to go the whole year without buying FIFA 13. I had the demo and played that every now and then but after a few passes realised that I can't get into it anymore because of the player movement and the sluggish passing. A lot of other things they do are fine but PES is trying to capture more of what I'm after in a football game. Looks like this year should be very rewarding on the pitch.

I will be playing on a closer camera angle so I'm looking forward to seeing some of the animations and visuals with more detail. Not long to go!

One thing that FIFA does better... they have the names at the bottom of the screen :(

Is it possible there will be an option to omit the name of the player over the heads of PES 2014? This will be very annoying when playing a 2 VS 2, the screen will be filled with the letter and we get lose focus with the ball.

Back to looking superb again. I seriously cant wait.
one big question why is it that we see videos with stiff animations, and then we see videos with the game looking terrific, what's happening???? by the way that throw from casillas isn't realistic, the animation of the throw doesn't match the power of it, he put in the center circle!!! wtf.

That is already possible in 2013. But we can't move the names to the bottom of the screen. So it's names over players or no names at all.

It's been explained that the stiff animations are more than likely due to the fps on which they run. There is a big difference in terms of fluidity between videos from youtube and gamersyde, one runs the video at 60 fps and the other does not.

aha i see, but why is it that we have a big difference in fps? why not same across all game exhibitions?

In PC, the size of the screen ratio will also affect the speed of the game, a disproportionate screen models will make the game look different moving too quickly where the field look more width and length.

Not, as long as you play on native, supported screen ratio.
Such a distortions happens if you use 4:3/5:4 resolution fullscreen on 16:9 monitor or vice versa

Not all videos are 60 fps on gamersyde but no videos on youtube as far as I know can reach 60 fps. Youtube is by far more popular so most videos are uploaded on there.
I just know that to have the best idea on how the game will look on your pc or console, better watch videos on gamersyde.

I liked it when in some past PES (can't remember the version) after a goal you would sometimes see the pitch from the stands with the silhouettes of fans in front of you celebrating: just like on TV.

Wish they brought that back.

I do not know if this included celebration or just intro ... will be very interesting to see supporters celebrate in perspective, we're not only playing but also see the reaction elements stadium over us.

Sick of seeing videos (i wont be watching anymore) and reading reviews and comments.

Time to play the demo and see for myself.

All seems normal and fine, until control was acquired and strange things were happening. I hope KONAMI may able to digest all of the criticism of fans and follow up on all these strange findings before the finals PES2014 production; Would be very difficult to buy a game that is still not perfect. and they were very understanding of the matter.

Not too keen on that skating animation on the second gif. Looks brilliant in general though.

Anybody else a week ago felt they could hang on until the release date and now they've seen all the new videos/animations having trouble making it day by day?

I called the calendar on my iPad a c### earlier for only being August 23rd!

3:00 poor, poor, poor, poor GK positioning

Agree.

Although the player should had brought the keeper out for that attack.

This is the best video I've seen on gamescom here:
YouTube - PES 2014 Gamescom 2013 Portugal Vs Italia Gameplay Parte 1

Watch this everyone! It should in theory, the better more considered you play, the better the animations, what is absolutely fascination is how 90% of the play we have seen, most just don't know how to play very well or don't care, these two can play PES quite well, the animations look 10x times better here.

The issue with most videos is people are trying to kick and rush towards goal and are making tons and tons of mistakes. Certain animations won't be as cute as real life if you spam the ball towards goal.
