PES 2014 Discussion Thread

well, we have seen the best promising bits both in video and screenshots (IMO), and the next 4 weeks will be just pc users whining about the lack of pc demo..

I just want to know what will the full roster of teams/leagues/DLC be for the retail version.

We dont know this.

Konami may be in licensing deal talks or negotiations and someone unlocks a team placed there without confirmation because of short timelines. Then the video gets uploaded and an unconfirmed team is shown on PES 2014...sounds logical to me

Why pray tell would konami spite their fans?!

Release the demo with only 4/6/8 teams available?

Is it that hard?

As a PC PES player I'm not so bothered there will be no demo because the demo is out only a week earlier. I would be very upset & angry if an August demo came out and it wasn't on PC. That would be unacceptable. This makes me think why the demo got delayed in the first place

I dint know the intricacies of video game development or licensing but logic tells me konami have their reasons.

Look at the german league debacle, konami didnt remove it to spite the bundesliga fans, there areother factors involved.

new stats...can't say i'm particularly thrilled...the removal of teamwork is idiotic....

Eh? Thats a lot different to the stats before. I guess the teamwork not being available is due to the player being dependent on how much he cares for each team.

Very different, there is no short/long passing speed anymore. this must fall under
just kicking power.

Body balance and physical strength being separate is very interesting. Thats balance as in general balance on the ball, compared to strength like before, this is now separate.

bad news for us transferring players from 2013 :(

Nope.

I think it's a cop-out mate. It's not as if the demo is being released over two months before retail like last year.

60fps, 1080p or higher, HD kits and pitch textures etc.

Done deal, thanks

That the cheapest £25?

Online this year, is it only 1v1?

Video shows 11v11 but in development stage so no confirmation that it Iain this years release

Exactly! Don't include the other bloody teams at all - if they're not there, you can't unlock them. This is a cop out of massive proportions Konami, and a very dumb move that may well have some people running the rule over Fifa as well as PES.

Not me.

I have been playing FIFA on Xbox since fifa08

I will have pes 14 on PC with open arms especially as FIFA PC is not next gen.

Pes 14 looks the real deal, just hope online is ok, is itreally bad?

£25 is going to be about the norm at it will stay that price for many months. You may find a download key cheaper at somewhere like Green Man Gaming.

Not sure what online has got to offer. Haven't played PES online for a couple of years.

Last time I tried online PES, it was awful - they might have improved it since then; it was a long time ago.

And because PES 14 is on Steam, it'll crop up in a Steam Sale at some point for those who wait for games to come down in price. ;)

those new player stats are amazing, and they brought the hexagon back both for teams and individual players to compare in between them.
just can't wait for the game.. this PES is all i have waited for years
:'(

I'm glad they combined short and long pass speed. I mean, what pro player can't hit the ball hard for a short pass if they want to?

As for the PC demo delay, I understand the frustration out of impatience but I don't think it has much to do with losing fans to FIFA. By all accounts, most of the FIFA reviews have been harsh and basically if you liked FIFA 11/12/13, then you're in for more of the same. Anybody who would choose FIFA over a slightly longer delay for PES is either 10 years old or would buy a Ford Focus because they couldn't wait the extra 2 weeks for the new BMW to come in. Like I said though, the impatience part I totally get, I'm impatient for the Xbox demo and that'll be released first.

I've just realized the ratings have barely changed at all.

These are not ratings this is an overview of the player:

These are the Stats, not much has changed apart from no more short/long passing power, new tackling and saving stat.

:FAIL:

Daniel Sturridge loos silly in the England vs France video

he keeps lying about his height at 1.88, he is about 1.78 in real life. Way too lanky, Konami have to put his real height.

this is good or bad?

Japanese title (in-house production) on any digital distributor rarely appear on sales because they value their works, especially from company as big as Konami. Game like this will appear on sale once in a blue moon, just like Silent Hill Homecoming.

Personally i don't like the idea of using 3rd party client. Beside you have to comply with a lot of Steam License Agreement, unless if you want to risk getting your account disabled or permanently banned. It's not a good practice to put a lot of eggs in one basket.

I'll bet getting this game on pc with or without mod support. Been playing PES 2012 & 2013 without any patch installed for nearly 2 years. In fact, some of these patches actually introduced several compatibility and gameplay issue.

Pes looking good.

Who cares about PC, is there not a separate forum for that?

Only downside about the release date is that I will be in Milan at a footy tournament then taking in AC vs Napoli :)

Anyway, looking like my fifa release day off is going to be spent playing pes this year.

Who cares about the best platform on the planet?

Well, we all do.

Who cares about the platform that drives gaming forwards instead of being stuck in 'generations'?

Can we just leave it with the pc v console talk? I can't seem to read anything about video games anywhere on the net without there being arguments over pc v console.

Back to PES, I'm quite excited about the classic kits. Love the Benfica 60's jersey, they still sell it on their online store :)

I can understand PC users being frustrated but even us on consoles have to wait until a week before retail version is out to play a demo. I think they honestly intended to release a console demo earlier but must have put in some serious improvements late on and said, we'll just release the best demo possible which I think is a good move on their end.

Having said that, the gamescom videos look great and I will pre-order this game without trying the demo. Heck – the last couple of year's demo's were not bad but nothing in the way of a huge improvement from year to year and I still bought the retail version. So this year with all the visual and physics improvements (ball and player), I can't see why I wouldn't buy it.

Now I'm just wondering whether or not I get GTAV on release date! Probably will lol
