PES 2014 Discussion Thread

i play alot of PES2013 and see so many differences in just about every touch or movement. This is mindboggling suppose we will have this argument till demo date ...hell we may just be having this difference in opinion till PES 2015
 
please dont make bans. people are just giving what they think of the videos.

i think old videos are very like pes 2013, but the new video is a bit different and better. the delay after passing i think is now fixed :) but there is still running bug when player reaches ball

Every year this has happened.
Some weeks before release (demo), we have always been positive with the game (2011-12-13), watching videos, pictures and everything else.
But this year being very critical and harsh with Konami..and never has been this way. I hope the situation can change completely, and is released demo
just hope it's not the disappointment of the year

konami themself promises big thing this year. "revolution" "photorealistic" "fox engine". they create the high expectation for fans so they have to be correct or else people will (and should) be angry
 
Some people brought it upon themselves. Asking for loads of info and videos, when they got it they nitpicking every single aspect.

No wonder EA rarely produce their video from gameplay perspective. Most of it came from cinematic and edited footage. In fact for the upcoming FIFA 14 they haven't release anything worth mentioning, except for some promotional trailer featuring new partner (clubs) and Ultimate Team. I don't know why people from this camp tend to praise them, saying it was a good marketing. To me what Konami and EA did are two entirely different thing.

The game is looking how I want it.

PES 2013 with much better animations. That is all I wanted and hopefully what we will see.

I'm not sure why people are complaining about the Defensive AI since the CPU quite clearly are set to a low level there. There little to no pressure at all, looks like its on regular. The purpose there is show how you can score goals, it's not highly competitive gameplay.

I agree with Dudu, it does look a little on rails here and there. I think Konami are trying to confine the game within the limits of the PS3/Xbox 360.

Hopefully it will be more free on the PS4 in later editions such as PES 2015 and beyond.

I did not like PES 2013 at all. Until latest patch was released it was garbage of a game tbh.

It got better, but still LACKING miles behind FIFA when it comes to catering for single player and online modes.

Gameplay alone WON'T help KONAMI situation. They need to offer something spectacular for people to make switch. If not, I can see FIFA 14 getting double sales. First X360/PS3 users will buy Current Gen FIFA 14 then after PS4/X One get released they will re-buy FIFA 14 for NG to see the differences.

If that happens, KONAMI are in situation they have not faced before and imho it would be better for them to not let such situation happen...

i'm with them but i would like to add i wish cheating is removed at high levels of difficulty

pes 2013 was frustrating to me mainly because of that

Suuuuupertalk also enjoy PES 2013 a lot.

But you are right, a lot of people didn´t like PES 2013 but i don´t understand why they think PES 2014 will be completely different? PES 2014 will be the core of PES 2013 with a new graphic engine and improvements in gameplay, the game will be similar, of course, and for me that will be a good thing.

People don't even invest much time into the cause and affect of what a games strengths and weakness are.

Some people will have 1/2 issues with bug them, then end up painting the entire game as shit.

Some people have gigantic egos and cannot take it when a game they don't particularly like get the better of them, they become extremely negative and highly strung up on everything and try to spoil everyone else fan essentially.

I know the mentality, I've been the before with FIFA.

Forums in general on the internet, look at the troll mentality, you can hide behind a computer, you can say anything without having to back yourself up.

Some people think they are never wrong, ever. Its ALWAYS someone else's fault, never theirs.

do you play against human player or computer player? because me, i play on line, and i say very strongly defensive AI means nothing when oppenent can press triangle and break through a defense no problem.

For me this is bullshit, i don´t believe they would be able to make a quality football game from scratch in less than 5 years. Just take as an example the EA basketball game, it´s in production for more than 3 years from scratch and the game will probably not be better than the 2K version.

The only thing which should be a revolution is the animations, physics and new graphics level, along with presentation.

The rest has been built up to a very high level from PES 2011-13

Core game mechanics (passing, shooting, dribbling 1-2 passing) Tactics, AI, Individuality and stat working, and gameplay balance.

This is the strength of PES 2013. I agree there are issues with the AI cheat as per usual, but again, for me its better balanced compared to the PS2 days which also as per usual had cheating, at times crazy.

I'm sorry thats pure crap, pure bullshit

I went back to that game to try and modify the tactics like i do in 2012/2013 to get CPU teams to play like they do in real life.

they all just do the same the thing. Camp deep in their box, setting a high line or deep line does no nearly make the difference you see in 2013, not even close.

PES6 defensive AI isn't good at all, was better in PES 5 or WE Liveware edition, they just camp ridiculously in box with about 6-7 players, sometimes on their 6 yard line, its so easy to exploit and score in the same way, over again, just passing to a free striker to score from 45 degrees.

I've tested this myself, I remember I think talking to soyo about this and telling a few people I can't do the tactics I do in PES 2012/2013 on PES 6 because the game isn't capable of doing it.

PES5/ WE9 is still the greatest PES game in terms of legacy but PES 2013 has gone beyond it in terms of gameplay despite not being nearly as great.

this is what confuse a lot of people, i think. they say they start from scratch and not reuse any old code... but to me, i think this is false news?? i dont know

That sounds more likely coming from overexcited fans mouth rather than the developer themselves.

The last two editions are based on PES 2011 core. PES 2013 is solid enough, but with new technology it could be pushed even better. PES 2014 will no doubt retain several element of PES 2013, nevertheless a new game engine is still a massive change on itself. You can bet on that.
