~45E for Europeans.

Tell us your impressions.

I played PES 2014 for a week, then I played Winning Eleven 2014 Asia Version since september 30.

I just played 2 30 minutes offline games on WE 2014 Japanese version in Top Player and in my opinion the most important issues they have fixed are:

- They improved goalkeepers. Now you can't score easily shooting at the nearest post.
- The shoots are now more powerful.
- The game is more responsive.

That's good to hear, but I want to know about GK positioning, do they rush out for crosses/through balls?

Did they reduce the falling on knees and try to save animation? (you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WqTiuW5HDw)

What about player awareness to where the ball is, both in offense/defence? This is important, because I hate when my player who the ball is passed to, suddenly decides to stop and watch ball go out of playing field! Like he is unaware pass is made towards him.

What about attacking runs? Does AI attack more in different ways now, instead of relying on same old pattern attack? do they keep possession more often now on Top Player and above? This was big issue too, as you could have 80% possession vs Superstar AI O_O.

Can you still run in straight line at AI defence and they do nothing to stop you? Is the foul count increased without having to rely on right stick so often?

Is crossing animation improved and did they add various crossing options? Is it possible to switch to receiving player once the cross is made? Are cheap chip shot goals fixed?

Heh. I guess that's all I wanted to ask for now xD.

That's great. Other than player switching not much else needs improving offline for me, really. Hopefully these updates are in the patch for PES.

It looks like the data pack and patch might be out tomorrow across Europe, according to Adam's twitter. Apparently it needed authenticating because of the size of it, which makes sense.

I've just finished my first online game on WE 2014 Japanese version and It's the best online game I've ever played, fastest, responsive, no lag. I thought I was playing offline.

WE 2014 Asian version online was nearly unplayable, maybe the Japanese servers are better than the Korean ones.

The GKs still making super saves with shoots outside the box?

No, no, wrong again. It's the announcement of when the patch will be released that he'll confirm tomorrow (obviously).

No, he says he's hopeful it'll be released tomorrow but can't confirm. He's talking in that quote about what time the patch / data pack might appear during the day. Read through the other tweets.

Nice, tomorrow it is then.

You mean the WE JAPAN PC gameplay?? If so, Wow!! What are your impressions on WE Japan version?

there is no PC version of WE but I've used some of the files from the console version and you can clearly see some changes , I still don't know if they are big like we want them to be.

This is a post I wrote after switching Diego Costa to Spanish Nationality and putting him and Fernando up front with Mata in the hole in my 4-3-1-2 formation. I love the whole false nine that the Spaniards do but sometimes you just have to bludgeon the ball into goal. When everything is clicking this game rocks ass!!

Man I can understand the discontent if you want to get online with this game, however in a single player capacity it absolutely smashes the other game in terms of quality buildup and unpredictability. The niggles become more pronounced the more you play that can not be denied. Sometimes when playing this game it is like trying to defend the red hand guilty. A lot of 'Gamer Techniques' have to come into play for the user to really enjoy the experience this game can offer .

In the final third after making my final pass I often just try to double tap the shoot button to get off a quick shot because as everyone knows in the final third there can be a little bit of lag.

The game could have been so much better more polished more refined the company took the cheap route and did what every other game studio does by releasing a half finished product to a eager and willing fan base. And even with all the shortcomings the game still plays a brilliant game of football when everything is clicking.

PES14 is not that bad of a game. Expectations were so high there was no way it was going to live up to any of them, fingers crossed for a proper patch.
