It's a really tough thing to do, I imagine. I think that's why there has always been an element of scripting to the gameplay in PES, otherwise recreating the ebb and flow of a real match with all that entails would be incredibly difficult within such a small timeframe.

The standard ten minute match isn't going to go away as I'm guessing it is the most popular match length, particularly with casual players. Those that play 15 minute matches or longer are in the minority so it's going to be interesting to see how PES is received this year with this in mind. Expect plenty of comments about being difficult to score and boring.

The thing is, you can't really add a match length setting higher than 30-min, 'cause real football games aren't much longer, trust me.

In real football time is running all the time, even during throw-ins, corners, etc, so in the end there's a lot of wasted time. So of an overall 90-min game, the teams have actually played 40-50-min, sometimes even less.

In football games, time stops when there's an incidence. This makes a huge difference, so if you had to play a 90-min game, it would be completely unrealistic.

I remember when I was a kid, that FIFA 99 included a setting to determine if the time continued or stopped after an incidence. I wonder why nobody tried to add that again.

The cool new addition? Well, not only can you now add 3rd kits to unlicensed teams...you can add 4th kits too!!!! :O #PES2014

I have been harping on the lack of kits during the past years, so this is a nice addition.

Glad it is back in, and hopefully they improve this when they move to next gen by adding mix and match capabilities.

Out of curiosity, will most licensed teams have third kits or only 'top' teams? I wish they'd release a list, both for classic kits and third kits.

WTF is going on? Where are the news?! Its two weeks to release. We know nothing about online and game modes. Im afraid it can only mean bad things for us all. Hope it wont. Adam is like a virgin - he wants to give but he doesnt.

I'm guessing only the top teams.

What I meant was, will editors be able to make third kits for licenced teams that don't have one?
I doubt that, unfortunately. Although logically wouldn't the licensed teams deserve third and fourth kit slots more than the unlicensed ones? It would have been a great option as we could even have used them to make new home/away kits for each season.

I agree, I normally play a 15 min game before I leave for work and it normally takes half an hour with all the breaks in play and subs. The worst thing is if I'm playing a cup game I have to allow 45 mins in case there is extra time and penalties.

Imagine playing Master League with 90 min games, you might only get 2 or 3 seasons in before the next PES is out :P

Erm no? This video only shows that he could import the stadium model into Blender, nothing more than that at this point.

Plus it really looked very detailed in Blender... (I mean it's Allianz Arena xD). :/

Like if it was something minor.

Decoding the unknown format was the most important part, and that's already done.

This game is MILES ahead of anything ever made. There´s no comparison. Football games will never the same after this. Licenses or no licenses, i know understand EA´s coup! They must feel like Konami felt back in 2006 and 07. What the fuck is this thing?! We can´t compete on the field!!! Grab licenses!!!! Shut them out!!! Shut them outtttttt!!!!!

PES 14 is SO lifelike. Amazing work Konami. Thank you Kojima for Fox Engine. I can´t even imagine how next PES will be like, full Fox Engine up its ass...

I only played the demo during the weekend, but its still lingering in my fingers and on my football mind. Divine.

I here thank the very nice person who shared his account wih me. Thank you ever so much, mate.

Best review ever! I like the fact people care more about gameplay. Licenses will be solved anyways.. at least on PC version of the game.

Do you really believe that assisted shooting is as advantageous as assisted passing?

I'd have to disagree. Assisted passing gives a HUGE advantage against a zero pass player on every touch of the ball, assisted shots aren't even close to that sort of advantage, in fact they are not an advantage at all. In a manual passing game you get, like 5-10 shots off per game an they're very stat and balance/space dependent. Manual passing is dozens of ping pong, off balance, bullcrap passes per half.

You can't even compare.

Couldn't disagree more mate. You'e hit the nail on the head with the fact a lot of games you will only get 5-6 shots on target perhaps, per team. The assisted shooting playing will ALWAYS have the advantage. The computer assisted shooting is an absolute joke, it you are clean through and use the placement shooting you cannot miss, it's impossible.

A good manual shooter will also score a lot of one on ones, but they will be varied goals and some misses too.

You can just hold down shoot in the box with assisted shooting at some ridiculous angle and the ball will still pretty much always go on target, it's embarrassingly easy.

To be it's absolutely mental that two players can be matched up with the same assistance of zero passing yet one uses computer assistance for shooting.

Agree with Sir poc assisted shooting is too easy. Typically the shoot success ratio is forgiving on assisted. Manual you have to make space and time before you can pull the trigger which I love.
