@Adam_Bhatti hi Adam, when will we find out the details of this edit mode work?

Adam Bhatti ‏@Adam_Bhatti 20m
@stokiestef I'm going to let the editing community release info, it should be their opportunity. Hopefully next week.

And finally, the CL licence seems to be safe for many years to come.. Behold:

"Tobi Otunla ‏@Maestro_96 45m
@Adam_Bhatti Yo Adam quick question, how long is your contract with UEFA and is Benfica's stadium still in.

Adam Bhatti ‏@Adam_Bhatti 43m
@Maestro_96 I can't detail contract length unfortunately, but it's a long term contract. Stadium list next week.

I'm mostly concerned about the so called "catch up" bug. I've read the last few pages and there seems to be a certain viewpoint that a speedy player like Ribery can't beat a defender for pace and thus is in a situation where he "has to pass." This could be a game breaker for me, I'd love to hear some clarity or response on the matter. Obviously the whole thing could be down to a certain persons perceptions but if "catch up" is present like in PES 11, it will be one hell of a frustration to keep playing. Only gripe of note for me at the minute.

It took me a while to figure it out myself, but eventually i found how to pass defenders with players like ribery and lahm.

so the trick is to press r1 twice (and choose wisely the angle where u wanna pass them), this way they push the ball forward and go to full speed. It actually works so well that your concern might actually be the exact opposite, i can now pass 2-3 AI players at ease with ribery and lahm. The issue is that players like ribery and lahm keep the ball very close to them in normal r1 situation, but u can exploit their speed by double pressing R1 and they really burst into turbo mode.

So that's how it works this time around.

On the subject of Cards that dictate whether CPU controlled players will tend to attempt certain tricks............I have sat through around 30 CPU vs CPU matches on this leaked demo now and havent witnessed one trick being attempted, except for what i call non-tricks, the only non-tricks I have seen so far are just ball-rolls and backheels.

PES2013, albeit with its dated engine, had all manner of CPU attempted tricks such as DoubleTouch Iniesta, Stepovers, Elasticos, Roulettes, Running ball lifts, Flicks that were often attempted in realistic contextual moments.

I am worried that due to the new engine that has made the play very organic now, Konami have taken CPU attempted tricks out of the game, but hopefully later builds will introduce this into the game, maybe certain traits in terms of tricks are not in this early build for CPU controlled players.

I DID see some dragbacks on the Gamescom videos and also on the demonstration video before that with the Japanese interpretor lady, but my worries are still there that thats about it for PES2014 in terms of the CPU trying them, perhaps coding it into the CPU players decision making was too much within the new engine in terms of processing power, it would have been different on the next-gen consoles or indeed if the PC version was created afresh.

Anyone witnessed any tricks yet from the CPU other than the above?

Good job admins ;) not enough praise

back on track, with shopto putting pes 2014 down to £19.85, i gave in.

I don't think steam will have it at better price on launch, only a week til the demo is released, happy days!

I knew I shouldn't have pre-paid via Paypal. :II

Oh well, the difference will get credited back to my account.

in all america, from canada to argentina, pes 2014 will have, english, argentinian, chilean, portuguese brazil, and mexican commentary, if you can get one of that copies will be very good to change commentary in the game.

Played a bunch of games tonight...

Wow. At first it was a shock. I mean, players were so slow... i had to change to +1 to be able to actually play. And then it was really difficult. Although is a first impression, and that i have to do more research when the full game is released, i think this is going to be the football video game with the most impressive AI ever.

I mean, seriously, there were times when i had to stop to look what to do because the CPU was defending very well, not just tackling but closing up spaces, and my teammates were moving according to my decisions! They were unmarking (sic) to be available for a pass, they were running to create spaces, etc, etc. I was amazed. Bastian is freaking awesome in that matter, being always a passing option. Genius.

As for the CPU, i was happy to see that they "think" aswell. There were times in which i closed up every possible passing option, and they paused to "think" and enable new passing options or new ways to keep going.

The animations and the collisions are great. There was just this thing that annoyed me and was that when running with the ball the player seems to have a tendency to look sideways and sometimes it is not very realistic. I mean, yeah, real life players do that often, but not in that extreme way and there are players who just never do it and they run looking at the ground...

Goalies need to be improved. Is not that they are awful, is just that they do not seem realistic some times.

Very happy. I would like to thank that "special someone" who shared the demo with me. ^^

if that is true that would be amazing!
i'm really tired of the mexican commentators to be quite honest

Agree 1000% ;)

Not as big as Fifa unfortunately. The EPL gets the most coverage on TV here and naturally most football gamers I know just want to play that straight out of the box.

As much as some people like to argue the point about licenses, most people I know don't want to spend the extra time finding the right option file and d/l etc...

I managed to get some people over to PES but it didn't take long for them to go back with the sub-standard games that Konami was releasing on the PS3.

looking forward to the demo!!

Klash - this post pretty much sums it up. A few guys here play it and prefer it to FIFA but the majority play FIFA and a small percentage of them try PES at my insistence. One of them won't even let me put it in the console to try out.

Yes its true my friend was confirmed for konami, im live in argentina, and a guy called robbye ron from a pes comunnity was testing all the demos, and confirm the diferents commentaries will be in the us/and rest of america disc for ps3 and xbox 360.

From argentina: Mariano Closs and Fernando Niembro, fox sports
from chile: Patricio Yañez and Fernando Solabarrieta
from brazil: Silvio Luiz and Mauro Beting
fom mexico: Christian Martinoli and Luis Garcia
from uk: You now the same guys of pes 2013

Here you have a video of the argentinian commentators

Any word on actual improvements to the English commentary in 2014? It sucks donkey dong compared to recent FIFA or 2k sports commentary.

I remember the community manager mentioned that there are more lines to be added. but admits champion and beglin need the to be more immersed in the game. I wouldn't expect something ground-breaking though.

Anyway less than 3 weeks for the retail version :BOP:

After experience this by myself, and how Konami is trying to make PES 2014 look and feel more like a real football game, and how now that you have to think more to make your plays, 10 minutes per match it will be too short to enjoy all the match IMO.

So, i'm the only one that felt for the first time that 5 minutes on this demo was like 2??? Only by the fact that now you have to think more what to do and play a more paused game?

That make ask yourself too:

If the idea for future football games is make them more realistic, now the tendency will be to play a 45 minute match to full enjoy it?
Because now i feel that before 2014 all football games was more fast, arcadey, where you arrived to goal dozen of times. so 10 minutes was enought.

Just saying...

That's a bit OTT but you still make a good point.Klashman already told me that for him, for enjoying the game he plays 30min matches or something like that (correct me if I'm wrong).
The longer the match, the less "rushed" you'll feel in creating your scoring chances indeed.
I think they (long matches) will be truly enjoyable when a realistic stamina model is adopted in the game. I'm so frustrated to not play this demo tbh.

in manual mode only, im think in regular mode 10 minutes half its ok, but in superstar level we need 20 minutes a half, 45 min a half its too much for any game

Well I had to because I went to the event so had to try this out to see the differences :P

I think it has something to do with the physicality of the game. If you run past a player and he catches you slightly, you then become into a jostle as if the players of pushing and shoving.

The trick then is to push right stick against him or do a trick t burst away from him, this can become difficult with little space

Have you tried with manual shot? I've scored a couple of absolute rockets from outside the box like that. As ever, manual shooting will be the way forward and if you have the time to master it you'll score goals assisted players can only dream off, especially when it comes to long shots.

I agree mate, I just hope to god that the online search filters aren't broken from the start like last time, it'll be even worse this time considering if you play on zero bars passing the yellow filter has gone, a bit like PES12 where you didn't know what passing assistance everyone was using but when you called out their 4 bar assistance they claimed that they were the ones using manual passing with their miracle through balls and it is you who's the noob.

I reported about the free kick exploit in the leaked demo (from corners as well). Haven't even had a response from Konami, I am hoping this is because lots of people have contacted them I am sure or they already know about it :) Don't expect to see it in the final game.

Good points, let's hope they make the line yellow come release. Hevan knows why they took it out.

Nica avatar btw. :)

I hope so. Maybe not 45 mins but 20-30 would be a good start. If we're going for realism we need a game that force us to play longer matches. If PES14 will do that i'm more than happy.

15 mins for me all day every day (whenever it's out).

:SMUG:

agreed. i always play 15 minutes.

I've always found it interesting about the length of time of matches we as football game consumers have become accustomed to. it must be really hard for konami to condense a games worth of events (goals, fouls, yellow cards) into a shorter time frame than a normal match yet try and go for a realistic approach. if you played a 90 minute game of PES the score would end up being 18-12 or something.
