PES 2014 Discussion Thread

My only complaints are the defensive awareness. Other than that, I love everything. Can you imagine the sexy presentation that a CL final will have? :APPLAUD: The even greater news is that Heart can be disabled and is already disabled online.

FULLY AGREE. The animations are MILES ahead of what FIFA has ever offered. I am more than pleased w/ them and the look of the game, in general.

People need to understand, and this is clear without even playing PES 2014.

In animations compared to FIFA, there is now no question of which game is better in animations anymore.

The KEY, what everyone must remember is now with the engines they are running on, if one is better than the other, the gap will be so close it really won't matter for shit.

They are both on the same level now. Simply because of the engine.

The Keepers from everything I've seen look very good, not as good as FIFA's i'm unsure and well need to see about how they look on penalties.

Would be great to see some footage of keeper s being forced into saves like this more.

The only bad one I've seen is the corner and free kick animations, however PES has a variety of them so we hopefully won't see the bad ones too much.

I think FIFA will still very, very slightly edge PES in the animations department in terms of how 'sexy' they look. Getting players like Bale, e, Ronaldinho and keepers like Cech over the years has helped them much more than with Konami. However in their realistic implementation will be depended on FIFA ideology for their new game and if they can cut out all of the gliding stuff.

Again, it will be so close, many will not notice the difference, it seems people will judge on the gameplay balance and which plays out to their liking.

Talking of Motion capture, back in 2009, they recorded a lot of animations with Messi, i wonder if PES will reintroduce them, surely they will?

:FAIL:

You know, with the animations, if the game wasn't called PES and didn't have a bad reputation for animations, people wouldn't say one bad word about what they have seen.

Oh yes, its exactly that! PES reputation really affected my judgement! Im sorry, spot on mate! I understand that at your eyes they must seem perfect, as anything better than subbuteo will cause anything orgasmic on you! (assumption) :))

I'm surprised people are still talking about them.

How much surprised are you? Do you allow me to have a diferent opinion or do i need to follow the flow? Elucidate me please. Cheers.

Does someone know if it's possible in pes2013 to stop the ball to a stand and then to go back a meter separated from the ball and then to run onto it and hit the ball with more verve for a long ball or something else.

What's the button to press for it? If there's no possibility I hope there will be one in pes 2014.

Does anyone else find it odd that he didnt have any shots at all, not even on target? Kei did the exact same thing in his demonstration, just passed the ball around, didnt really go for goal at all. Makes me suspicious that the reason why is they wanted to avoid showing keepers :P

Perhaps! How about the fact that the PES Messiah himself was not able to tackle one ball off a Santos dribbler the entire freaking game!?!?!? How will us mere mortals be able to stop AI controlled attackers!!

Anyway, an important thing which has been missed massively

INJURIES.

I spoke about this a month ago, seen no action on them since, we need at least system like in PES 5, I think the FIFA system which is very good and adjustable with sliders porbably wont happen.

Its been terrible since PES 2010 and diabolical last yea. No cutscene, no context to the action which injured the player and in master league they aren't out for long enough.

Its not hard to program either.

yes , i really wanted to see new injury system , with many kinds of injuries (head , foot , hands , ...)
it could affects :

*gameplay : reduce player performance
*visuals : http://static.ladepeche.fr/content/media/image/zoom/2013/01/16/201301161848.jpg
*animations : special animations (walking with pain , asking for subtitution to the coach)

in recent football , injuries happen every game , and can change many things
will also let us to use more the game plan to make substitutions and change tactics.

One point about the graphics, I won't be able to tell until the demo but I'm still concerned about how 'HD' they look. Don't get me wrong, the lighting and animation looks vastly superior to 2013 but it still looks like it might be quite low resolution like the last two PES games. Maybe it's just the compassion of the videos but its slightly concerning.

I want brand spanking new HD visuals.

The PC - home of PES.

I was blown away by how much more crisp and smooth PES looks on the PC. It's almost like comparing different generations of console.

Not excatly that but you can stop your player by holding only R1
then knock the ball few meters forward by tapping right stick two times diagonally forward.

From 5:10 onwards:

What ever happened to Stretchers?

Here is FIFA's system which is very good. From 2:12 (Jenas)

This might even be in the game, i'm unsure but nothing has been said on it so i doubt it.

This is what we need:

Hamstring Injuries if you Sprint too much with a tired or unconditioned/injury prone player.

Why are you so insecure? The engine is there, the animations will be fine.

You provided no comparison for your comment to what you expect the passing animations to be like. You just wanted to be negative because it is PES, every comment you have made has been a cheap dig at something you where looking to be negative about. Then you try to be smart and just fail!

You never change you do :) . If you that unconvinced, just don't bother, do you allow me to question the quality and validity of your opinion and your intention from it?

I think, if the game is available in end of September, then by end of august it probably has been gold. If the demo plays a little different with the final game, then the cause of demo feedbacks have little impact on it.

@Klash
Yes, i have to admit that animations in general is mile ahead of previous PES. So complaining too much would not be fair. All in all, Konami should have for PES 2015 onwards for improvement. Neglecting the pros because of small amount of cons is a sad situation where overall game has been improved in many areas by it looks.

I am absolutely buying PES 2014. It is so hard to miss it. :SMUG: I can not stand FIFA's long range shoot and the player's soulless eyes even though i will also get it at a point. :COAT:

From what I can see,I am going to be going back in time and playing the franchise I once loved.

Looks to me that the fundamentals of what konami are trying to achieve is right. They are aiming at the simulation side of things and I have to respect that.

This is all I have wanted from a football game, you can't make it 100% simulation simply because it would not be as fun, so has to be a balance.

Lets see how well they have balanced this but with the ball being more free, the impact engine being what itis, scrappy play, bad touches. I welcome all this.

This will mean the player will have to think of their touches, their next move, where to pass and build up play.

Regardless of flaws which there will be, it is a step in the right direction.

I hope the online is improved and I am going to get it on PC this year.

I have not played proper pes since pes6

That's a given, of course, but seeing how much Konami have been bigging up the new Fox Engine on current consoles then I'm really disappointed if they can't get the game to be nice and sharp. Granted, all I've seen are compressed videos but I can still tell that there looks to be some 'fuzziness' to the graphics on the pS3 version.

Other current-gen PS3 games have managed it, Drake's Fortune and The Last of Us being prime examples, so if the all singing, all dancing Fox Engine they brag about delivering 'astonishing' visuals for current gen can't, then I'll be seriously disappointed with the game's visuals.
