PES 2014 Appreciation Thread

Is it still possible to get an option file for the PS3?
My game version is 1.16 but I have no data packs installed.

Been back playing this for a couple of weeks and absolutely loving it.

It seems my installation got messed up somehow. Does anyone know how you are supposed to install the stadiums and the adboards? It doesn't seems to recognize the pes14_win_dat folder 😩

This game gives so much trouble compared to other games in the series.

Hello, sorry if this already being mentioned.

I found a patch for Indonesian Super League teams that required DLC 3.00 and v1.06. I've downloaded the DLC up to 7.00 and the exe file up to v1.16. My question is, how to copy the DLC only to 3.00? I don't understand the file structures for each of the DLCs. And for the DpFileList, can I use the DpFileList from other version of PES (ex. PES 2017 or PES 2021 by Baris)?

downloaded pes 2014 a couple of weeks ago on ps3 and i have to say that it's the closest pes to "real football simulation" , just try playing in live broadcast camera , with normal speed at 0 and not any updates with 3 level pass support , this is the most pes game that's "realistic" you can find , it reminds me of pes 3 , pes 2008 , started an era , but this time it's special for it's realism , pes games were not made to be realistic and that was the problem , especially after the masterpieces of pes 2012 and 2013 , in 2014 they not only used new engine , I think that konami wanted to do a real football match and also a video game like pes 3 for example , but the community didn't realize this in 2014 , and the community of pes were right because konami had too much hope for a little time space , they could've made it slowly like from pes 3 to pes 6 but they just made everything in one game in a little time to work on.

pes offered something unique that made fantasy and tactical football to be together , unlike fifa which felt like an official game

so I started to look at pes 2014 as a total separate game that actually showed what a real football simulation is , if you like real football you would give pes 2014 another chance , try to be tactical more focused more grounded more slower in your approach to pes 2014 and the result will surprise you

Also in my opinion pes2014 is the closest to represent actual matches environment with crowds , African teams matches and European matches and asian matched and american matches are totally separate

which version/ patch do you consider the most realistic? (strangely its base 1.00 for me. i find that even 1.00 and 1.01 which isn't supposed to change a lot of the gameplay has obvious deifference in terms of player positioning and freedoms) but i find it quite incovenient not to have a base copy function for creating players

Although it's hard for me to notice the difference, but isn't the 1.00 the only version that uses its original animated adboard rather than static ShopTo that appears in all stadiums and some leagues? I've tested 1.13 and 1.16 however the adboard only displays ShopTo regardless of matches.

my point was trying the game in the base version the company made originally, the patches and updates add of course, i played aoki2014 ps3 and we2014 , and there's noticable difference , the base pes version is the version company originally created so that can tell you what were they thinking when first released it

i was probably hypersensitive due to the fact that i play we9/le to death, and i enjoy playing to the limits of the gameplay system in order to emulate real life tactics. e.g. there are certain things we9le/pes5 don't do well, like having few vertical lines in a tactics like 4-4-2, 3-4-3 (as opposed to 3-1-2-2-1) because player movements are not intelligent enough. so to achieve realism, the workaround is to design layered tactics and stagger the position of your players ( happy to share my PES5 OF so you can see what i mean).
In pes2014, you can do sophisticated combinations even with just a flat 4-4-2, 3-4-3 and the contrast is very clear. base 1.00 is really the version when the player are least mechanised and have the best freedoms

this is a good observation. i have to admit i am quite negligent with the aesthetics as i am too focused on tactics

Absolutely—I remember trying to dig out interviews in Japanese and English, so I could understand what the original developers’ intentions were. I wanted to know which versions they—as fans and enthusiasts themselves—considered to be the closest to their original idea of the game, before it got gradually eroded though catering to later fan feedback and commercial considerations.

What I’ve learned is that it’s all very subjective. Populism doesn’t always reflect what you want to get out of a football video games (thrill of an arcade vs deep realism), and everyone's scale is different

i actually come to the conclusion that base 1.00 is the best through my own trial and errors. as it seems to contrast with the general consensus amongst PES 2014 enthusasits that the fully patched version are the most realisitic. but its fair to say that by having all these different patches, there is a spectrum that can satisfy the diversity of fan's playing styles

Does it have less bugs?
