PES 2012 PC Demo talk

I'm sure they're all safe. I used one of the torrent links. Might be worth trying the one that has been re-packaged to be smaller, should save some time.

Just learned that there's a new feature called hold-up play by pressing R2+X and releasing R2 to tackle. Does this mean directional buttons are obsolete during defending/pressuring? Also, does it help if you sprint and pressure(press X) opponent?

As much as i think the player switching has been vastly improved since from the shocking system that was in place on pes2011. I still want the old PES6 manual setting back. Assisted i don't like as i like to have more control of when i switch, and the semi- assisted isn't much better. The thing that ruins it is when you press to make a slide tackle just as the opposition plays the ball you switch to a player where the ball is going to be received and that other player slides.

Yep on the first part. The defending system of PES2012 is basically the same as PES2011, just different control scheme.

Sprint and pressure usually results in conceding fouls if the ball is still close to the targeted player's feet.

It might be frustrating at first, but you'll get the hang of it. Bear in mind, there will be times when you just mis-time the challenge and concede a foul or the opponent will just zip/snake past yer. That's probably normal, you can't expect a 100% success rate. :D

Getting the hang of defending now. I've had to relearn the system from last year, where it was easier to just barge in, or use super-cancel, or hold back. This year, its really about timing. It takes time, but keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it, seriously I'm loving the defending now. Of course, you are gonna get beat sometimes. You can't expect to win every single challenge like Zakov mentioned.

Oh by the way, you guys should really try Yair's gameplay patch 0.4. It doesn't have floaty ball physics. I'm playing the game at -1 speed, and it seems brilliant now. The GKs seem to be improved as well, and Top Player CPU is a monster lol. Give it a try and let's hear your opinions!

Totally agree. If that were Konami final code I'd be well happy.

What a load of garbage. The amount of fans Konami have lost over the last five years is huge. I'm sure the profits have halved since PES6-pes2011 so why would it be in their interests to produce a game full of bugs on purpose to further get up the noses of the Konami faithfuls. They do the best they can in the time they have. If they haven't got the time to fix a bug then it gets worked on the following year. Having a yearly game means we sometimes have to make do and grin and bear some bugs until the next one arrives. That's life and yes like you so rightly say it is down to money in that respect.

google "planned obsolescence", it's in softwares (including games) too. without it the market doesn't work.

Oohh another conspiracy theory. I could google freddie star ate my hamster and it would bring it up, would you believe that as well.

It's not a conspiracy theory. well, you can call it a consp. theory, but I can't help logically accepting it. having played football games since like 1994, I have come to realize this fact and every single year it's proven again, to me at least. I'm not saying there's zero development, no, but some bugs are left behind and the game is tweaked in a way that keeps you looking for the newer version. financially it makes sense, again; to me at least.

It would take them forever if they wanted to sit on the game and fix all the bugs. LITERALLY FOREVER!

Yes!!! They need to put bring back a classic version of manual switching. Ever since they moved to the current manual system, the switching has been a disaster with every release. I still do not understand why they changed it... I can't fathom many people use the full manual as it is way too annoying to have to switch players after every simple pass. I just want full control of player switching when defending. It especially important in the current demo as there is no 'catch-up' to compensate for bad auto-switching.

I don't have twitter but maybe someone could add that suggestion?

:JAY:I'm still not satisfied that directional pads really does make any effect. I've tried on a lot of attackers and the movement of the defender does not change whatsoever from any direction and directional pad i've pressed unlike PES2011. I don't see any noticeable differences with sprinting + pressuring too.

I was enjoying it before using Yairs patch and still enjoying it with so i'm on the fence with these gameplay patches. Not sure its just a placebo affect, call me cynical but i'm still seeing the floaty shots and the occasional dodgy goalkeeping.

Sorry to buttin mate, but trust me having used lots of Yair's patches for 2011 i can definitly tell you it is no placebo the differences are night & day. although i hav'nt tried the demo patch yet.

EDIT_ having not played the demo patch , my point being is Yair knows what hes doing.

Noob question but how do you see a player's stamina ingame? I only see a stamina bar when switching between players but it fades after a second.

Is there no permanent one? I want to be able to properly judge my sprints.

Really disappointed about demo.
The lack of individual skill is serioulsly flawing the gameplay.
The better AI is only a critical and optical effect due to the overrated agility of ALL players.

Do not you see the frantic movements of opponents midfielders of ALL teams?
They behave as if they were all like Iniesta with perfect troughpass.
These movements remind me a lot the basketball..
Take a look to players skill using an editor.
They are embarrassing and light years away from reality.
