PES 2012 PC Demo talk

The official PES 2012 and WE 2012 sites have now opened, but it’s the Japanese page that has brought with it extra goodness!
Watch the new WE 2012 trailer below, showing all the new game modes and features! MUST WATCH!

They need to tone down this damn close control and one touch from players ffs Vidic and Ferdinand have the same ball control as Messi should , look at this game I played on top player, look how easy it is to keep posession because of it and against Barca aswell

2nd thing that bothers me is that they YET again have not replicated posession football, as a matter of fact I don't see any difference between AI teams that use long ball tactic, quick counter or posession... I really don't.

For example all I see from Barca is PASS FORWARD, DRIBBLE PLAYER, PASS FORWARD , PASS FORWARD , DRIBBLE PLAYER, SHOOT, repeat..

There is no posession control, no passing around the pitch at all, thats rly disapointing.

It's always been easy to keep possession. On any Konami football game.

And you want the AI to pass the ball around like Barca on a 10 min game? That would limit the amount of time a limited AI system has to score, also limiting the time the average gamer has to score, which would in turn be frustrating. And stupid. It's a game, if you want real football, play 90 minute match against a human opponent.

It seems to me the simplicity of PS2 gen made the game better?

Mayeb now they have too much technology, too much freedom etc..they are ''overcreating'' aspects, trying to make realistic but actually doesnt make a great game. Or is hard to perfect.

When they had less tools ''degrees of freedom'' to work with they coudl narrow down and concecntrate on maximising each aspect.

I dont knwo if I amke sense but take each aspect.

passing
goalies
Defending
Dribbling
Shooting

Now back in ps2 fays in creating the game each aspect had to be streamlined compared to today they have more tools to create each aspect in gameplay.

Hard for me to explain what I mean.

But in developing the game think off it like this.

If I gave you 10 pieces of lego and told you to make something with it you could prob make something cool quickly and efficiently and try out many combos and get make it perfect though simple design .

Now if I gave you 200 pieces of lego and told you to make one amazing thing you could spend months trying various pieces and combos and never make something quite perfect or be unsure which is the best. Maybe over time you could get something pretty good but still not perfect and quite complex.

With less options its easier to concentrate on making it perfect and simple.

This is just my personal opinion anyway.

About the lego pieces analogy, konami should take the 10 pieces for make the base and the 190 left to make the rest.

like the analogy btw :SMUG:

Fact is when I used to play PEs on snes=ps1=ps2 it was addictive.

I would play game after game and even if I want to go to bed Id be like just 1 more, ok 1 more, ok 1 last game, well mayeb 1 more.

And each goal scored felt special. Like really well player or worked and watch replays over and over and compare and show to freinds.

Ive never had these feelings next-gen which shows something is wrong.

Same feelings here, i just wanna know what happened on Konami's PES headquarters, that made the essence of PES dissapear.
There's a missing link there, and i wanna know what it is.

It was but at least on PES 2011 if you played as a low technical team it was a bit harder than it seems now, now I can pretty much make circles around players with Vidic and they can't do shit, are you srsly gonna tell me thats the game you want?

2nd part you have a point but that still doesnt mean AI should just rush forward like idiots, they can still pass around a bit looking for holes and then set through balls like Barca does in real life.

I think you miss IMO, because as someone said above, this is a subjective matter, and you also pointed you were younger (as well as me, we are talking about half a decade, lets be serious here).

Now probably I have a quarter of the time to play with the adult life needs... oh well...

Last paragraph, i dunno mate but if i jockey them, contain more i.e hold them up to slow their attacking they'll pass around. But if i always rush to select all possible moment to their player i.e making too many holes in my defensive line, sure CPU will be more aggressive to go forward and find any opportunity

I just had one of those games which has made me FURIOUS. I've been playing PES pretty much all my life from the first versions and I don't profess to be a great player...I just play the game with an understanding of PES and football.

However...I expect the goalkeeper in a game to make a single save. I mean...just one. You could have say 3 50/50s in a game with the striker and keeper...you would hope he could stop at least one. And perhaps 4 shots from range which go down the middle, would you expect all 4 to go in?

I just played a game where there were 7 shots on target on my goal. My goalkeeper saved 0. Napoli scored 7. 6 of these goals went right down the middle. I can't even be bothered to play a game where the developers are so clearly unable to test it because of budget / time / cross platform development. This kind of thing is easy to pick up in the smallest amount of testing. I can't begin to enjoy the new AI features when they so clearly neglect other basic and essential parts of the game.

Every year the demos have problems and we hope the final product will fix them. Remember the referee standing in front of the wall for free-kicks in the PES2011 demo? We all hoped they would fix that...did they? Of course not, I saw it yesterday. Unbelievable.

Give us a break Konami, there is a reason why the community has to apply 20 patches to your game every year. Looks like we need 21 this year...but thanks for adding a handful of new animations and sounds. That really made me not notice the usual fatal flaws.

Dont play on the big boy settings. I hope konami dont listen to people like you. Its people like you who give them false feedback and then they go a cock the game up for the final release.

How can my own observations and findings from playing a game (from a genre I'm well versed in) be 'false'. I'm going to assume because your thoughts on the game are positive they are therefore 'true' or more important eh?

Also if you are saying the game fine, you are providing bad feedback. Konami look to adjust things from the demo to final product. Oh and my point on goalkeeping issues is not an isolated issue, many people are having it. Go find a mirror if you want to have a pointless argument.

the sad truth is, Konami in the end is a corporation and its real purpose is to make profit. they don't look at a franchise the way we do. they look at it from a market based perspective and that's why they balance things.

now it's obvious to me that they deliberately leave some bugs and add things to the game that keep you looking for the next year. of course, they lose some fans(customers) in the process, but the majority forget the bugs and enjoy the game and of course, they wait for the coming year to get those bugs fixed.

that's how it works, it's not that they don't know how to fix them, or they don't know what a proper running animation is and so on. Japan has the most creative and advanced animators and animation technologies. some bugs are purposely left behind, and some new bugs along with new features are added each year which makes a balance between customer satisfaction and expectation for a new version. to enjoy the game, sadly, we should accept this dirty fact.

What a load of garbage. The amount of fans Konami have lost over the last five years is huge. I'm sure the profits have halved since PES6-pes2011 so why would it be in their interests to produce a game full of bugs on purpose to further get up the noses of the Konami faithfuls. They do the best they can in the time they have. If they haven't got the time to fix a bug then it gets worked on the following year. Having a yearly game means we sometimes have to make do and grin and bear some bugs until the next one arrives. That's life and yes like you so rightly say it is down to money in that respect.

(After playing many more hours of the demo)

Other than improving Goalkeepers, they need to:

1. Improve player switching.

2. Make it so when you pass the ball you gain control over the the player receiving the pass earlier so you can run onto the ball as you choose. It's highly annoying how the computer controls the player like he's on a rail.

3. Tweak the AI so they don't go chasing down my opponents of their own accord. I'm not even pressing B to pressure with a teammate and yet they're still pressuring.

4. Tone down the scoopyness of (shoot button) clearances.

5. Improve the passing so that it's not going to the wrong player so often.

Should they do that I'll be buying PES 2012. It still wouldn't be perfect but there was a very good game under the hood of 2011 and these improvements would help bring it out.

Does anybody sometimes just feel like a goal is coming? Somebody said they did the other day. I'm having similar feelings. It's not something that i find familiar when playing PES at all. I dawned on me just now how many i seem to concede in the last minute of the game. It's becoming an all to familiar feeling kicking off and the whistle blowing for full time straight away.

Also is anybody else noticing a vast number of floaty long range shots going in from long range? I've scored 4 now (Evra, Carrick, Falcao and Villa) and hit the bar a couple of times too. I can't tell if it's a physics issue i.e the ball floating too much or that it's a goalkeeper issue in that the goalkeeper doesn't have the ability/animation/intelligence to deal with that particular shot from that particular range. The goalkeeper makes the same backwards diving attempt at saving the ball every single time which suggests the latter point is valid but that it may be a combination of both.

Want some positives? I'm getting better at defending and jockeying and some of my issues concerning players ghosting past me have been eradicated. I still struggle when there's loads of their players near my box though. They have too many options to pass and the AI don't seem to want to pick up players' runs into the box very often. Okay that's only half a positive then. I'm having a lot more fun than i was though now i've gotten more used to defending.

Also i refuse to play with or against AC Milan now due to their unbelievably stupid ratings. It's made things far more pleasant. I put the Barcelona mod thing on and whilst they're a damn good team they're still not as good as AC Milan seem to be.

The goal of doom, yea I've had that unshakable feeling that the CPU is going to score at some point. Happened in PES 11 a lot, especially right after scoring a goal against them. Although I guess this is kind of different.

Oh and my point on goalkeeping issues is not an isolated issue, many people are having it.

And haven't Konami been up front in saying that the goalkeepers aren't that great in the first demo?

I've seen video footage of some really good saves by the keepers...and then the obviously bad mistakes they make.

If we really want Konami to make a good game for us and try to incorporate changes, people should be giving specific feedback about goalkeeper issues (with or without video evidence) to back it up.

Not saying this about you mate, but just in general, it's counterproductive to have people say "keepers suck", "this sucks or that sucks". We have to be specific and clear, like some people have been, and maybe they'll tidy up the right elements for us.

CPU panic attacks!

Anyone noticed that pressuring players using directional button + X does no longer work?
And also does sprinting + X make any difference?

I got this while playing against Man United. Didn't realize at first but suddenly notice it.

No wonder he didn't do anything about it. Around the final minutes, they sub someone in, and i see Hernandez playing as a striker, and Rooney swapped with him as the GK. WTF.

Did Konami remove the directional button + X feature? It doesn't have any effect when i use the directional pad. it's the same thing as pressing X, anyone notice this?

Can anyone give me a working download link for PES 12 Demo on PC please? Official Konami link doesn't seem to work and neither does one I found on PESFAN.
