PES 2012 PC Demo talk

amazing demo!

a billion times better than pes 2011.

i would release this right now.

i hope they won't screw up final game like last year.

Keepers take way too much time getting up from the ground to take a quick throw to get a counter attack going.

And feels like the AI of your own players gets more stupid against Top Player CPU, conceded two goals where both of my CB's just started running towards the sideline for some odd reason (there was one opposite player there along with my Right Back who could've handled the situation by himself), leaving a big space in front of the goal and of course the CPU used it to its advantage, cant blame it but then again that should never happen in the first place. Wasn't pressing CPU pressure buttons either as I rarely use those because of things like that.

Also strikers seem to defend and pressure way too much, how often do you see Berbatov running and chasing the ball for most of the half in the opposite area?! Never I tell you. Here's hoping all these get fixed in the final code, as I see them getting on my nerves enough to not let me enjoy the game at all, against the CPU at least.

Oh and just to emphasize what other people have been saying, the keepers really are shite and some of their animations hilarious.

Have you tried to adjust find suitable team strategy/tactics ?

I don't quite know what you mean?

Surely the CB's running away from their spots has nothing to do with strategy? And the strikers pressurising are CPU players who in real life would never work so hard, just brings back memories of the horrible FIFA09/10/11 pressure system where the CPU constantly runs at you without tiring for full 90 minutes, just feels a lot like that at times.

I do like the game, best PES since PES6 definitely, but to me there are some very annoying things that I really do hope get fixed or adjusted in the final code, because I have a feeling FIFA 12 has done next to nothing to fix its annoyances that have been there for past 3-4 years.

How do you initiate player runs? And my digital tactics switch doesn't result in anything!! How does switching tactics through digital directions work?

Loving this game at the moment, I do have a strange concern, in that it feels a bit too good, I'm playing some sensational football, you might even describe it as playstation football, just a little worried that it might be a little too easy to play attractive football. But like I said, it's a strange concern, and not really something i can confirm without playing for a much longer period.

Also, I believe defending will be a real art-form this year, the holding up attackers and timing your challenge. The fact it's dangerous to pressure, because you could let a speedy attacker past and you won't catch him this year. A much more enjoyable element of the game than last year.

Love the demo. Finished playing it around an hour ago. Meant to come straight here but had to mop up the mess I'd made down my gaming chair.

Everything is how I wanted it to be, the only minor gripes being keepers aren't as good as they could be, for example letting in low shots from the D a little too easily. Also the celebrations need jazzing the fuck up. They don't capture the joy of scoring a goal in a tight match at all.

Well impressed though. Thanks to all the chaps who playtested it here and gave favourable impressions, I believed you and was right to do so.

Decided to download it for my VAIO to see it it'd run as I met the recommended specs(nice change :) )

So far quite impressed. The game speed setting is a godsend.

Tell me though, is there no way of changing the res? My monitor(which I connect to my laptop) is 16: 10 and the game has black borders around the left and bottom sides of the screen. Isnt centred properly.

How do I fix that?

Run the setting.exe found in the game's installation directory.

I tried playing it in medium quality settings and the game is soooo blurry. Anyone else having this issue...? In PES 2011, the picture was clear and crisp at the same resolution, so I don't know what's going on here.

So, general consensus is that the game plays very well, until the goalkeepers are brought into action? Shame about them but hopefully they will be improved before release.

Yes, it's very blurry on High settings and 1680x1050 resolution with black borders on top and bottom, I think it has to do with it being unfinished code and graphics made only for console resolutions.

For digital tactics you need to go to change controller settings. by default player movement is set to Left stick and d-pad. you have to set it to Left stick only to allow you to use d-pad for tactics.

Seems most people finding it a good challenge which is positive. If you're finding it too easy fiddle about with the options like setting pass assistance to zero and turning off all other assistance.

ok got my ps3 controller working on my PC. how on earth do i configure the buttins to make the game playable??

I was 2-1 down and had a corner in the 91st minute and i still only had 3/4 players in the box going for it and that includes the 2 CBs i designated to attack. Keeper didn't come up like he usually does in 2010 either. I hope Konami sort this out. I was on 'all out attack' too.

Local Disc (C drive)>Program Files(or PF x86 if Windows 7)>Konami>PES2012 Demo>Settings

Then select your controller under the controller tab and map your buttons.

Im almighlty impressed more than i have ever been with pes. It truly has a pick up and play factor from the first game and like pes of past gets even better with each play. Imho fifa doesn't even come close!!!!!

It's like watching real football at times!!!!!

this game has surpassed my expectations now and i can happily say this is best pes of next gen, without a shadow of a doubt.
return of challenge mode, playing it myself reminded me of the good old days and this game handles pretty fluid
now i know that i will stick with pes for a while, i'll be purchasing a new pc to play this badboy on :D

Blurry on High with 1920x1200 resolution, but the more concerning issue for me is that I'm still getting the microstuttering I encountered in PES2011.
