PES 2011 Discussion thread

Just use manual pass and you can score every time. Hold LT and pass into net, the keeper is decieved easily every time because it is not a scripted shot that the cpu keeper is scripted to save, but a manual pass, so the cpu keeper "does not compute", and a goal is scored.

On the demo, I win 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, 6-0 every time now, as the manual pass is an easy goal. It also proves that :square: shooting in PES is scripted, as the cpu controlled keeper can save :square: shots 99 times out of 100, but saves manual pass shots 1 time out of 100.
I tried the manual pass shot a few times after I uploaded the goal, and scored a couple - the success rate does seem pretty high... The keeper saved some of them, but didn't hold onto any of them.

I really hope that it doesn't become common knowledge online, as it could be an exploit... Especially if there is a side-on camera view that makes it easier to aim.

Sorry, i've tested this, i did score with Kaka (nice goal aswell) using this but it's not as easy as you were making it out to be

had 10 shots using the manual pass, keeper saved 7 of them, 2 off target and a goal from Kaka, thing is the kaka goal was just well placed, keeper couldn't do anything

Hmm well i played 3 games and even when i was inter and pummeling Lyon with attacks i wasn't working! He's making it out to be a lot worse than it is!

The goals you scored, could the keeper had done better because there was no way the keeper would've saved Kaka's shot i scored with? Did notice the keeper praying every shot.

Bigger news though! Brazil are unlicensed :( :( :(!!!!

I have to say, the ones I did score, the keeper didn't really have a chance as they were out of his reach and/or he couldn't get down quick enough.

I hit most of them with full power when the keeper was nearby, so I suppose it's realistic for him not to hold onto them. It may still be a bit too effective though, especially when people get used to aiming them.

I'll try it out more when I play the demo in the next few days. It probably won't be a gamebreaking exploit, after all, you still have to play yourself in one-on-one with the keeper to use it really, plus you do have to aim it and the keeper can save them. It seems nothing like as bad as the chip/finesse exploits and the manual chipped through ball shot glitch of FIFA.

Sorry about this off-topic question, but... Is it possible to make an OF-editor for the ps3 version of the game? It would have been great for the Option-file makers. I don't mean it should have all the tools as the PC-editors have, but an option to edit names, attributes, etc and also to transfer players. Would have made everything easier and quicker.

But since an OF-editor for the PS3 version has never been made I guess it's not possible?

This was the tipping point.

Expander can you please stop posting utter hyperbole and replying to everyone with 'well I have been playing football games so I know what I'm talking about'. I'd have thought your infamous, complete flipflop only a short while ago would have been enough reason for you to realise why. For a day or two your 20 years of football experience and career as a dev saw you coming to the same conclusion as Rod. I genuinely cringed when I read your replies to Thypari and Rod.

This game is NOT perfect. It's not perfectly balanced either. It's extremely well balanced from the looks of it, though only playing online for a good while can truly test the mettle of a football game's robustness, when the public collectively start finding the paths of least resistance.

This game is perfect, the pes demo might not be but the we demo is(much as it was last year for the same reasons)and is more representative of final game.

Let me explain why.

We demo

-The power bar isnt as over sensitive, its easier to hit a short pass to your man 2 yards away without overhiting, theres less power on shots and you can can control the long ball and long passing better aswell as through balls and can add spin and aftertouch to control the ball. The ai also reads the play off the ball better and reacts to danger plus theres not a slight delay between players reacting to the ball.

-Crossing,doesnt always overpower or go to the far post, theres different types and again you can add curl.

-More animations.

-Players react quicker, recover from tackles quicker and dont freeze, reacting to loose balls as well as dribbling away with the ball and trapping in a instant.Your players also rarely let balls go out of play and the ref doesnt blow for offsides all the time and challenges.

-The dribbling is more finetuned, you can take people on a skin them without tricks or turning back to your goal through fear of losing the ball, plus you dont get players sticking when someone runs into the back of them and they move and turn quicker theres no delays.

This is what i was basing my conclusions on not that choppy pes demo that is way short of the final game.

Now chill out, just because fifa has been caught with its trousers down and exposed for what it is dont take it out on me rom. Also stop this dev talk shit, didnt you cut it in the programming world so have a hang up about me being one.Youve probably got two or three of my games on your shelf, the irony.

Im not going to lie, that pes demo leaves more questions then it answers and deosnt do konami to many favours in comparison to the we demo because to many people have the perception that its the final code when it isnt, its been tweaked and finetuned a hell of a lot more since then.

how do you know the japan we demo is going to be the same as the full international ver of pes?

Dude, that pes demo would of been ready six weeks before the game went gold.Download the we demo and see the difference, theres no way konami would release a vastly superior and finetuned product in japan but not in europe. Its more to do with timescales and clearance in different regions.

Im not making this stuff up,two totally different demos. While the pes demo does what it needs to do i would gauge its around the 90% mark while the we demo is finished albeit having a little less graphical fidelity then the retail version.

Its the smallest tweaks and adjustments that make all the difference in the last 10% of developement.I cant even play the pes demo now,the power bars to sensitive, theres no aftertouch and the players dont react like they do in the we demo. This is more to do with with one being more finished then the other not two different versions of the same game. This isnt the ps2 era in which your catering for two different markets(a faster slower or slower game),both games at retail will be the same.It was the same last year we2010 is no different then pes2010 ive got both.

Jon murphy said its representative of final code, thats a whole world away from final code.

Until you go online and get murdered by a 11 years old kid.

That can happen with any game, so it has nothing to do with PES, or with playing lesser teams.
Just make sure you get a good buddy list, play people who try to play football and all will be well.

I believe you that the WE-demo is better, but Jon Murphy, who works for Konami clearly said again and again that the PES-demo is final code... so it will probably be the case that the final PES-game will be inferior to the WE-game..

You say that there were no way Konami would release a PES-game that is inferior to a WE-game, but exactly that's what happened in the last years or actually always.

First PES2011 reviews are in! With the embargo finally dropping the first reviews are in for PES2011.

Videogameszone.de are first off the mark and there review which scores the game a very creditable 86% can be found HERE.

JVN were not far behind and their 16/20 review can be read HERE

Both reviews of course come with some new screens to take in.

A decent start for the game regards scores, with no doubt more to come thick and fast over the coming days and weeks.

I find the 86% score from Videogamerszone is a bit disappointing.
16/20 from JVN "not far behind" ??! That's 80% ! I find that a low score.

Yeah, I am serious. I have the pes2011 demo for PS3. It looks great to me...

Than you have a better PS3, than the others or play on SD tv..

It looks shit on PS3, hope they improve it for final code.

PES 2010 looked fine on PS3, but this is blurry, pixellated, it has jaggies all over the place..

5 years KONAMI experience of PS3 programming

What a crock of shit, just goes to show the journos out there prefer something that takes minutes to pick up and play and dont no jack about real football.

What makes it worse is OPM gave fifa11 10/10,just shows how morally bankrupt that editorial is.

Last year fairplay fifa was the better game(from a technical standpoint not replicating the true dynamics of football),this year different story. They havent slowed the speed down ea,theyve just slowed down the the turning speeds and reactions of the players but its still devoid of personality and individuality despite there much tauted personality plus.

Just goes to show in this day and age animation and presentation talks not the purity of gameplay..........jeez.

I also know why alot of ex pes fans prefer it because the passing systems simple and you can play A to B football without much manual dexterity(like pes used to be),you dont have to learn the strengths and weaknesses of each team and your players and fifa clings to footballs arcade routes.

It will be different in a few months from now everyone will be shouting the merits of pes and how bored they are of fifa because it has no real depth. Is pes5 all over again, the press didnt get it while the gamer and footbal purist loved it.

How is the "Green zone" issue in the WE demo? Do defenders still allow for an easy run and cross?

First You have to load PES 2010 demo and than PES 2011 demo. You will see big visual differences. Lighting in PES 2010 is far better, colours is far better and You will not see pixels on kits etc.

Absolutely, PC version for me looks miles better even on my ancient setup.

How is the "Green zone" issue in the WE demo? Do defenders still allow for an easy run and cross?

Not a issue in the we demo, and not something your notice is highlighted in the reviews because its gone in the final game and we demo. The crossing is also different as is the shooting and power ratios of passing, the ball doesnt overpower when it shouldnt,ie when you dont put to much power on it and players react instantly(theres not that delay like in the pes demo)and how they should to the ball when its loose as well as when there tackled and recieve the ball or start there run, there just aware of whats happening around them.Everything just flows how it should, the balls not going out of play all the time because players are slow to react or the ball goes from a normal speed to its been fired out of a high velocity rifle one minute to the next.Take the long ball and through ball in the pes demo as a example theres just not the subtlety there that there is in the we demo and you cant slow the ball down with backspin or spin it left and right with the stick.

Its much like last year the pes demo is way short of the we demo and the final game. The pes2010 demo had the same issues of the ball overpowering and this wasnt a issue in the we2010 demo which didnt differ that much from the game we brought at retail.

Theres also alot more kicking, shooting animations and players walk up to the keeper to congratualte him after a good save especially the opposition, they just clap on the pes demo. The refs are also more balanced, there not blowing everytime someone clips you and let the odd tackle go.

Its still a good demo the pes one but dont take it as a indicator of the final games quality.
