PES 2011 Discussion thread

Hahah maybe. I had no problems with the ones in PES 2010. In 2011, I managed to score a penalty, however the command list says different. I'll check it out and post it here.

Yup.

It say 'the longer you move L1 towards the goal', the higher your shot gets.
I tried it and the ball flew high over the bar, so I'm sure this has an impact.

Yep managed to get a screenshot.

So I guess it's mostly the same as PES2010, except that the height is not determined by the shoot button, but by the left stick

How strange :CONFUSE:

To be honest, the penalties I have taken and scored so far in this demo have all been in the bottom corners, or as close as I'd dared to risk. I'll have to try the holding of shoot to see if that still gives me the height. I'm pretty sure it did in the MLO beta though. It's also easier to use the pad rather than the stick for penalties, in my opinion.
 
I REALLY hope the keepers get sorted for the full game, they parry far too many shots. Just conceded a goal where a keeper parried a cross that didn't even have much power in it and would NEVER be parried in reality, and it dropped straight to their striker.
 
i've had the ref thing before too

just looks silly but it's not harmful



on the other hand i just had a 2player game against nobody (left the other controller on the bed). CPU gave away a penalty against me :S

plus Olic can't shoot at all whereas Muller is seemingly brilliant at shooting that's what i gathered from it. i really like the way you can only put power on shots with certain players (van bommel, schweinsteiger, muller) rather than all of them

Tweaked PC demo allows penalty shootouts so I've had plenty of practice. Can stick them low left or low right no problem but cant for the life of me work out how to score anything off the ground. The slightest tiniest miniscule raise of the Lstick seems to sky the penalty. COM also seems to only try low penalties, 95% of time I would say.

Wow where did u get that one from? I've only come across the cam and time tweak.

It's even worse when you're running onto a through ball or chasing after a ball that's heading into your own goals. there isn't anything worse than seeing P1 running back to clear a ball off the line only for the game to suddenly swap P1 and P2 around and they walk it right into their own goals because none of us have realised.

Can you try holding shoot for the height and see if that still works ?
 
Might have got it from the tweak which allows you to play Japan and Spain. Not really sure, its just always an option now after a draw.

Jimmy, I tried to add height by holding the shoot button for longer but doesn't do anything.

No way !! :(

I cant believe they have changed the way to take penalties. There was nothing wrong at all with the PES 10 way. Honestly, sometimes Konami, you really can be a bunch of silly billys. :CONFUSE:

Awesome! I'll check it out. I have that mod anyway..

Oh and Jimmy, I tried pushing the LS towards the goal. The ball flew into row Z :LOL:

Yeah I liked the 2010 system. There were many complaints but honestly I think thats one of the best way to implement a penalty-taking system.

Hmm I just played a draw using that mod but it doesn't go into penalties? :CONFUSE:
 
Might have worked it out. playing 5 min halves now just so I can practice penalty shootouts.

Penalty shootouts have the camera behind the player, so directions below are for this view.

Press shoot to start the run up.
Push L stick left or right for direction. Holding longer will put the ball further into corners but also risk it going wide.
Let L stick return to centre then push it up to add height. Height seems more sensitive so shouldn't be held for too long.

Nice one for the heads up Olly, I must say though, I much prefer the other system. Apparently the little dink penalty option is in PES 11, I'm sure I read you pull back to attempt a cheeky little lob. Try that Olly.
 
Penalties need an overhaul in this game. Hasn't changed since pes 09 (or possibly 08). Every player looks ridiculous when they do that little dance toward the ball and then shoot the ball like an amateur.
