PES 2011 Discussion thread

D'Alessandro is a little legend, glad other people are fans of him :D

I'm so glad he got rid of that stupid thing in his hair, remember it? some white strand of hair on its own with the rest of his head shaved or something :O

Oh btw, how do you guys go about doing Option File updates for your games? did you have to spend like 30 mins copying each file individually from a USB stick to the PS3 Hard Drive? I remember having to do that when I first got pes2009, not much fun at all, any alternative? :(

They've never been possible in PES.
Kitserver made them possible, but it's Juce's work and no one know if it's going to be released also for the new PES..

Edit: Simcut has just beaten me to it..

As I stated in the Demo impressions thread (if you bother you can read there my impressions), the game plays great but there are some technical shortocmings, and also some unbalanced things.

Tricks are too easy to perform. In that last video, Keita is doing a roulette. I've never seen him doing ANY kind of trick. Very fancy tricks should e very hard to pull out, like the rainbow kick: even with the most skilled player, the % of success should be around 15%, to say something.

Backheels should be less accurate, and scissor kicks should happen a LOT less. And finally I find through balls too easy to perform, specially from long range. My idea is that the game should have only the normal pass and the manual pass, and through balls should be done only with the manual modifier, thus making them harder to make. Add to that all the stats of the player into the equation and would make them hard to do, but very very rewarding. Or at least decrease a lot the accuracy of through balls. Or improve the awareness of defenders even more.

I hope they have toned down this for the final build of the game or online can turn into a tricks-through balls fest. Please.

This is one of the things that can damage the good work konami has put in the game.

I agree with you to some degree, drekkard.

Konami should've added a specific stat for tricks, say a scale of 1-10, have it as a scale for success rate of attempting tricks and also with the number of tricks that can be performed :o

hopefully konami have sorted it out to just 1 save for kits, 1 for stadiums and 1 for face apps

He just has the most beautiful feet, his control is on a different level. And his left peg is so cultured, he could hit postage stamp from 50 yards. If I'm honest, playing with Internacional pretty much exclusively has eased my mind with regards the individuality and the semi-auto system. It takes alot of games with the same team before you get to know what all your players are capable of, and their consistency levels. Hell, it took me 4 months with Lille before I worked out exactly what my strongest starting eleven was. Anyway, D'Alessandro's passing is sublime, so much better than any other player on my team, and massively noticable when you look for it. He does have the Passer Player Card, so you would expect it, but I'm so happy that Konami havent lost any individuality in this area by implementing this new system. Any reservations I still may have had were banished last night when I focused on Alessandro for 4 hours. Brilliant.

Also, Sandro is a beast in the DMF role. I think I change maybe 5 players from the default starting eleven, and the team feels so much better for it.

Yeah you really have to tinker with and tweak teams before you get the best out of them. Lille are a very fun team to use.

D'alessandro can run games if he gets time on the ball. In 2010 I tried Internacional, liked them and have used them in the past. I think something prevented me from using them online, might have been a defence which was just a bit too weak, but I'll try them again in 2011. Sandro's definitely a beast but I think he's at Spurs now.

Spot on, if it weren't for these the game would be near perfect.I want to die a little death whenever a player does a damn scissor.

Physics are also a little wonky. I got a high rebound from the corner kick to a player on the edge of the box. The ball was looping over his head so he turns with his back to the goal, he then chests the bloody thing and turns to face the side the ball game from and performs a damn scissor kick.

It's a bit of a put off seeing this but they aren't very frequent thank heavens.

About the through balls though they are easier with Barca than any other team on the demo.

WTF

I saw some youtube movies with that wierd mixture between shot and lop xD
And I think they are too strong. If you walk straight to the goal make a 90degree turn and shot immidieatly into the short corner. They are like unbeatable for the goalkeepers.

I hope they get Paul Scholes right as for me he is just about the best midfield player around. Please konami get it right.

I've tried all the teams, really. But we should take Barcelona as a good example. You may say some of the best passers in the world are there. Well, even taking that into account, they shouldn't be able to make through balls at the rate they do now. Or at least improve the defending AI, so even if great passers can do great passes, great defenders always cut them.

For example, playing with Bayern I can make 2 or 3 perfect through balls per game against Barcelona. It's just too much on 10 mins, I think.

I haven't played the game... is it possible to play with wingers who hug the touchline? I mean proper chalk-on-the-boots, 'make the pitch big', Dutch-style wingers? I see video after video of all 22-players huddled within the width of the penalty areas, unwilling to go near the sidelines. It looks very odd.

Yes, just set team styles to out wide and put two wingers out there. Easy!

Thats Incredible, I reckon come Wednesday my current master league will go down the pan and close the lid on PES2010!

Here you go check out Internacional and the man D'Alessandro sorry about the quality. Also the speed is ridiculously fast as I play on -2 gamespeed. The shot at 74mins in the highlight was one of my favourite he turns the defender inside out...wish it didn't appear so fast though.

Awesome video Zee, and what a goal, been trying to that with him all night for my Alessandro videom, but it wasnt to be. I do have some sensational through balls though, touches and tricks. :)

Nice football on show as well by the way. ;)

He's not a trickster but he's more that capable of doing a roulette! True box to box player and actually sound technically! Used to go forward a lot more for Sevilla compared to now at Barca.

Don't see nothing wrong with that. If you consider Lichtenstein players were doing the odd drag back and roulette's vs Scotland last week, what can a good all round player like Keita do it? But i've seen roulette's fail a few times in this game which is good.

Agree with the rainbow flick, good thing is it's ineffective but too easy to perform! Doesn't seem to be an chance of it failing but it's useless since you really can't get past anyone doing it :) Shouldn't be that hard (15%) More like 40%, you have to consider even if you pull it off you have a very small chance of even beating the player anyway :)

Agree.

Disagree, Your using Schwienstiger with Bayern to play them in aren't you  he's a demon on this game and especially in terms of through balls. When using Barca vs Bayern the game is a little quick, try using -2 settings maybe. The thing which i sort of agree with is that through balls from far are easier than shorter ones since by default the semi through balls are hit with substantial power.

Still it takes skill to pull them off!

Anyone finding it hard to use the Manual Through balls when 25 yards or closer from goal?
Just the CPU are so rock like in getting men behind the ball, even when a player is in decent space judging the passes just seem dam hard! I know i have to learn to deal with this just wanted to see how everyone else creates their chances. This is someone who has been using manual through balls religiously since FIFA 08.

Nice video zee, well put together. The close control you were showing with D'Allessandro was excellent and very smooth. Also a big OOOHH! at 0:21.

One question: does the L2 manual modifier works with circle (manual cross/long pass), X (manual short pass) and triangle (manual through ball)? I thought it worked only with X (manual short pass).

I think this vid makes the keepers look pretty damn good, and I'm honestly shocked by how consistent contact with the ball remains when the players are moving/doing tricks. That's the inverse kinematics at work right there. 2 days to go, god I hope there's a day early leak lol.

Another great video, and a good choice of music, Because to be sure the pirates are on their way :PIRATE: YAARGH
